Purple skin is normal. I used to know a guy who would turn purple when he had too much booze.

How do you level up Trobjorns turret to level 3? I keep hitting it with my hammer, it can get to level 2, but never 3. I read that you need scrap to do it, so I fill up on all the scrap I can carry and it doesn't seem to help at all.

You use his ult. Level 2 is the highest thing you can upgrade normally. Level 3 is a temporary super-state for the turret only for the duration of the ult. Level 1 or 2 turrets become level 3 when you use it and go back to what they were before when it ends.

O thought that was just a buff didn't realize that was level 3. He's quickly becoming my new favorite, even though my favorite changes every day. I wasn't doing too good with him till I figured out that the turret has to do all the work. Before I was just dropping it and then running off to fight and die with the rest of the team. Now I duck behind a corner and keep smacking it to repair it. Had a 14 kill streak at one point.

I might try out the girl with the little turrets too but they seem more like they do less damage

Symmetra's turrets do far less, but she can have six of them up at a time. And she can put them almost anywhere. I can't tell you how many times I've died walking into a passage or room where there's three turrets just inside the door frame.

Her skin isn't purple. It's bluish. Because she's basically dead IIRC. Yes, I read the character backstories.

Or, you know, maybe she's made to resemble those silly "femme fatale" characters, French accent and all.

I don't see why you wouldn't play a character based on how the character looks, especially when said character is played in first person - ie, you won't even see her.

Anyway. I'm having fun with the game. Mei, Tracer, Widowmaker and Junkrat are my faves.

I was trying out Symmetra now too, and she's quite good once you know what to do. in fact, I think she should be in like every game... just between the shields and the teleporter especially on those missions where you have a really long run to the objective when you die, she seems really useful. And yeah, sticking 3 or 4 turrets inside a door and watching them melt people when they come in is quite fun

Every time I stick with a character a while and really learn how to use them they become my new favorite, they did a great job making each one unique and fun

I can't get Symmetra to work at all. Doesn't matter if I try my own ideas or follow examples I see working well on streams/YT vids, I've yet to have a game with her that doesn't see folk quickly turn & burn my turrets before they die, and if I hang around them to try and add my own damage I just die as well.

I rarely die to her when there's one on the other team either, even when playing a squishy - tbh I think they nerfed her too hard earlier in the beta.

I've been playing Mercy. Most of the time I'm left isolated by the team and simply die. Still, love playing the battlefield medic. Her glide ability is quite liberating.

I've switched to her too recently.. I got rare devil skin for her out of a loot box so I thought I'd try her out. I have the same problem though.. I think people just don't even pay attention and have FragLust and don't even know you're trying to heal or buff them.

I pretty much never get any kills, but lots of assists and still get plenty of points at the end. I never really use the pistol, I kinda wish they would have her staff just damage people kinda like Symmetra's pistol beam

I enjoy all the heroes, however on PS4 no one uses voice chat and invariably I face triple Bastions, Torbjorns, Tracers or Reapers and it makes the game exceedingly dull.

I'm super envious! That skin is gorgeous, although imp skin also has certain appeal.

In my last games, people just overextended and I've frequently died as I dived into the fray in an attempt to save them. No points at the end, people who score most kills usually get them.

Yeah that's a big problem, people just don't know how to be healed or stick together to get the objective. When that happens I just switch to a DPS character and get some kills, then switch to a different game afterwards. Seems like you need a good team that's trying to work together if you want to be able to heal em

Kinda bummed I'm not gonna be able to play again for like 3 weeks, but on the plus side I'll be able to get some work done around here

Tried it more on PS4. No one usss voice chat, no one geoups up or plays the objective. I actually enjoy being Mercy and Lucio but its impossible to have a positive play experience when everyone is trying to max their kill death ratio.

Honestly the lack of headset users drives me insane. I thought CoD was full of chat, does it not transfer over?

Huh, I've had a ton of fun on Xbox One, even if nobody uses voice chat there either.

I really liked having no one ever use their mics.. I hate voice chat on consoles anyway, because it's always just coughing, chewing, sneezing and kids yelling at their moms, dads and little brothers. Soon as I hear any noise from anyone, I go mute em. It's one thing to set up a game with some friends and really communicate, but for me 99% of the time there's never anything worth hearing.

I really enjoyed playing Mercy the most, it feels real rewarding keeping folks alive and resing them when they die. I usually suck in firefights anyway so buffing and healing seems a lot easier for me to do.

Yeah I prefer comeraderie and some chat so that we can co-ordinate as a team, even from randoms. Sadly although the game is fun, without some dedicated buddies to play the game it becomes an exercise in frustration. Maybe when it hits retail there will be folks willing to build balanced teams or more people picking tanks and healers.

More Mercy/Reinhardt play. Surely watching the flanks, not get isolated and dart into cover are basics? I know my game is full of mistakes (my first FPS), however I don't know how many times we were like lemmings going into an ambush set up by Bastion and Widow.

I did manage to kill Genji at full health with Mercy's pistol. I think he kinda resented it.

I got a play of the game on mercy last night.. I didn't think it was possible by just healing.. I mean, all I did was stand there and hold the button down and healed Bastion while he killed everything, wasn't really much skill involved

I only whip out my pistol if someone on the other team is playing Mercy too, and I go out of my way to gun her down. there can be only one! Kinda surprised more people don't go after the healers, it's like they think it's better to just shoot the big ones.

Well because her ultimate really requires team follow up in order to consistently get value, and her projected barrier relies on an allies behaviour to do anything and her projected an important part of building up her primary weapon. In other words Zarya is a team player who is really hampered in an uncoordinated pub game. In the competitive scene only there's really only space for damage dealers, lucio and Winston/Rein. This mean Zarya is kind of confined to being "Good" only in coordinated pre-made groups, that also aren't looking to do the whole competitive meta thing. This is kind of a small slice of the player base and probably one that's a great deal less vocal than the others too.

Interesting to see bits and pieces of 40K in here...that Tau suit was definitely lifted from GW.

Just because GW uses common sci-fi tropes does not mean that every usage of said tropes is a reference to GW products. Nothing about D.Vas suit particularly screams "Tau" and even then nothing about the Tau suits strike me as particularly original to 40k.

I didn't get any Tau vibe from D Va, only maybe the chicken legs? It just looked like any old anime themed mech to me. I kinda liked her alt skin that was all junky and rusty looking. I think my favorite alt costumes that I saw was either Mercy the valkyrie, Trobjorn the pirate or Zenatta with the egyptian god costume. They're all great but those were my 3 favorites.
