Australia in Overwatch seems to be at least in part transformed into Mad Max setting. A bit silly.

I went and linked my xbox account to my blizzard account, thinking it would let me play it on my PC too. Downloaded it and all, but it says I need a key to play it on my PC :( Not gonna buy it twice Would have been cool if you could have your battle.net account keep track of your unlocks so it didn't matter what system you play on.

The only thing that is usable on both Xbox and Bnet if you link those accounts are Mercy's Wings in Diablo 3 you got from your Origin Edition

I wonder if they changed the loot boxes around? seemed like in the beta I was getting a new skin almost every time. I'm level 13 now and so far all I've gotten is just 1 alt color and that's the rest have been dumb player icons and sprays. I've gotten lots of duplicates too, at least 4 times so far. Nice that they give you extra coins for that, but still. I want me some more skins!

Possibly. Although I've read some reports where people in beta also had really bad luck with the drops.

I lost 5 hours to Overwatch last night and got to level 14. I think I got 2 skins out of those boxes, one for Tracer and one for Winston, though admittedly both were purple 'rares'. Alas neither I'm particularly fond of. Clearly Blizzard wants people to buy the loot crates but that's not happening. Not when there's so few skins I actually want and I can afford them with the in game currency.

It's also really obvious when you're playing with someone who was in the beta vs someone who has just started today. I must have killed two dozen Bastions with Genji's reflect last night.

I got quite a few bastion kills as Mercy too, maybe it's just luck but I'm always zipping around with my wings a lot of times I end up behind em and just plug em with my wimpy little pistol before they realize what happened. Guess they're easier to take out since they don't jump around all over like everyone else

Quite. Level 6 and not even alternative skins. The player progression feels slowed down too. Got obliterated every match so far.

I managed to get an alt costume for Genji last night, where he's not in armor and just black & green cloths. Other than that, I think I got like 2 alt color skins so far, I'm level 18 now I think. Or maybe 16, I forget. But, the leveling seems ok for me unless healing just gives more xp than usual? I pretty much only play Mercy unless someone else already picked her, then I usually go for Pharah.

I think a lot of people are just starting with the game and didn't play the beta, so some games are hit or miss with people running all over the place looking for frags cuz they don't know not to. A couple times I just plugged in my mic and said "hey folks we really need to get this objective instead of running off on your own" and it seems to have helped.

Most players I've played with, knew they needed to capture the objective, however they still separated a bit too much (flanking is quite nice but the timings are way of) and perhaps they are being a bit too aggressive. Although it's quite possible that I'm being too passive.

A bit worrying that no one picks tanks, I'm usually playing Reinhardt. At least I've improved his game somewhat. It must be nice playing on US. When someone is speaking German and the other French things get a bit confusing over here.

I get all the plays of the game as bastion, people seem to get mad.

I clearly should show my mad skill by playing Soldier 76 or Pharah instead.

Though, not going to lie, playing a bastion and not shooting a Genji, who stands there confused why he hasn't gotten a kill yet, then obliterating him when his reflect is down is so amusing.

6v6, attacking on temple of Anubis, being a siege tank moving up slowly behind Reinhardt and winning is also kind of satisfying. Then, when our team got a turn on defence, not even letting them get through the door as a bastion, two torjbjorns, a Reinhardt and a mercy was pretty amusing.

I just need to save for the Bastion play of the game emotes so I can collect all the salt.

I had a game last night with 4 reinharts, 1 bastion and me as mercy. We drove that guy's limo all the way to the end and I don't think it stopped moving once

Nice, no one on the enemy team played Junkrat? I've managed to get play of the game with Reinhardt. By rocket charging into clumped group of enemies and throwing (myself as well) them off the cliff. I'll probably save for Reinhardt's Paragon skin. I do love his high spirited character.

I like how it has highlight videos that you can watch, I kinda wish there was a way to share them.. maybe you can on the pc but I don't think you can on xbox

No, it doesn't have them saved. I find it odd since SC 2 saves all your matches, unless you tell it otherwise.

I managed to get a loot box with 500 coins in it last night, just enough for me to get the Sigrun costume for Mercy Now she says "Till Valhalla" when I resurrect people instead of Heroes never die. I had the devil costume in beta but I don't remember if she said anything different then.

I also managed to get a play of the game last night with her.. I'm starting to think the game just picks them at random. All I did was just walk up and resurrect someone.. wasn't super heroic or anything. Maybe it just records when people use their ultimates and just picks one?

Dunno, I've seen ones with no ultimate used.

Can I ask a favour of folk though - can we have an end to this whole thing with gaming where people use "autistic" as an insult? It's getting mighty fething tiresome. Was hoping this game would be free of it at least for a couple of weeks post release but evidently not.

Heh, pissed off someone for the first time today. I was playing as Mercy, and healing people as best I can, and someone got pissy that I didn't heal them when they asked for it in chat. They said something like "I was right behind you for 10 seconds!" I don't have a mic anymore, or I would have said "maybe you should have been in front of me where I could actually see you along with everyone else I'm trying to heal!" Most times,.it's all I can do to watch the health bars I can actually see and keep bouncing from one to the other with the heal.

I had some obnoxious players in my games, but nothing extreme yet. Generally I try to encourage the team but in some cases that's really a lost cause.

I also don't quite understand play of the game. I think the game just looks who did the fastest eliminations, I was quite sure of my moment where I did 4 kills as Reinhardt. PotG was Bjorn's turret killing four clumped enemies while he missed with every shot. I do hope more people will start picking up tanks. Reinhardt and another tank are excellent composition and allow ranged carries to have more room to play.

Please tell me I'm not the only one who think Roadhog needs a nerf? Unless I catch him unaware he's going to murder me (Reinhard), his self-sustain is insane, his hook will interrupt my charge and shotgun up close melts anyone. If I engage him I can only hope my team is going to do a follow up and pour every bullet into him. Almost never happens.

As for Roadhog v Reinhardt, he's not really someone you should be taking on alone; the shield totally negates the hook, so unless you have your ult up to stun him, just leave Roadhog to the rest of your team. Zarya can do some work against Roadhog, but the best counter is probably McCree with that bloody stun of his or long-range Pharah.

The best counter to every tank is Zenyatta. Orb of Discord them and they take 50% bonus damage, which just melts tanks. He's a lot harder to play though since you have no stun nor movement ability.

When I play Mercy my rule is to heal who I can see. If I'm healing you and you decide to jump all the way across the board where there's no way I can reach you, then die, guess who's fault that was?

I've been thinking about trying out Lucio, I get outhealed by him sometimes when he's on my team. I didn't know he could heal, I thought he was more of a buffer/shielder

Lucio has passive auras. Heal or speed. He's dangerously addictive as he can skate on the walls (hold jump key) and his alternative fire has knock back effect. Pushing people off the maps never gets dull. Try him, although there's a chance you'll never pick Mercy again.

I understand characters are meant to have vulnerabilities to others. I'd actually like to try a different tank but since people lock at least two ranged carries (McCree, Reaper) I'm actually demotivated. Reinhardt is great for any composition, I'd like to play more with Winston as his jump allows avoiding some choke points or simply deals with annoying flanker on the second floor. I've got Siberian Front Zarya skin, that could also be interesting. I'm also super happy when I see Zen + Mercy or Lucio and Genji on my team. Genji is very mobile and can usually make short work of enemy's Bastion or Widow.

Lucio is, hands down, my favorite character to play. Ever since Tribes I've always favoured movement-based classes/characters/equipment in FPS games, and I'd been expecting to fall in love with Tracer in the same way I did with TF2's Scout...but crikey she's actually slow as molasses with her base movement, and I find trying to manage her "charges" of Blink too frustrating to maintain any momentum.

Lucio's so good though that he's my default pick unless the team comp or the map really don't favour him; being able to wallride, run faster, and burst-move really fast for a few seconds combined with his sonic gun with the knockback would have been enough to get me to play him tbh, but the fact he can heal as well AND buff the team with his ult? Amazing. Not in an OP way mind, if the enemy team take a dislike to me and I stop moving I'm mince, but skating down a wall to a payload objective *just* short of the finish line, BLARPing all the enemies out of the way and winning the game is just soo good

Winston is, IMO, too situational. He's fun, and he's a good hard-counter to certain other heroes, but too many of the heroes that counter him are also generally just pretty useful/easy to learn so you only really see him used as a quick pick to achieve one thing or by a really good pair-team with a dedicated Mercy.

Zarya looks interesting, but she'll probably be the last hero I learn to play since I'm not huge on Tanks anyway and Reinhardt & Roadhog are much more intuitive for me

Zarya is probably one of the hardest characters in the game right now. But damn is she rewarding when you get a game with 70% avarage energy.

So, just out of curiosity, what kinds of things do you look for when voting for a player at the end of the match? As someone who enjoys playing Mercy, I do tend to skew my votes toward whomever is nominated for healing. Other times I just look for the interesting things, like someone who got 4+ gold medals. I like to offer recognition for more than just scoring kills.

Healing, damage blocked, objective time are the main ones for me.

Yeah I always vote for the healer first.. I also only ever vote for my team unless we lost so bad that there was no other option

I think it would be cool though if someone gets an epic vote they get bonus XP, even if it's just like 50 points.

People have been ignoring the healer in the games that I've played. I had a game in which I healed 29% of the group's damage while on Mercy, and only one other person voted for me.


When I'm playing D.Va, I *hate* Rheinhard. HIs charge ability blows right through her force field, and one shots her mech. Total BS, imo.
