I'm still mostly sticking to Mercy, but been getting a lot of kills lately. I don't know if her gun is stronger than I thought, or what, but when people aren't killing who I want dead I'll just pull it out and start shooting. It's really funny seeing Reaper run away screaming like "OMG I didn't know she could shoot!". Usually though, I mostly just do my shooting from behind reinharts shield (like everyone needs to do, not run out in front and die!) and try to take out the turrets and bastions before the shield drops and I need to start healing.
So far my record for mercy is 7 eliminatons, and 12,000something healing. I still haven't gotten the 4-res achivement yet though, guess the most I did was 3 so far. I hate when I see a 2 or 3 on the screen, and in the time it takes for my brain to tell my thumb to hit the res button, it suddenly drops to 1
Yay, I got a play of the game as Mercy. I heard the magic words "Fire in the hole!", so I ducked around the corner, watched three teammates drop, and then rezzed them.

Had about half dozen terrible games yesterday, complete stomp, until matchmaking decided it's time to shuffle. It was different afterwards, intensive and we fought for every meter on Hollywood and King's Row. I hoped OW will be more casual but those games were crazy and I felt like I was playing SC. Good thing someone was coordinating team through microphone.

Interestingly, I don't actually enjoy playing Mei that much- usually I'd be all about the walls and ice, but I much prefer Zarya (not that good with her, but enjoy playing her), D.VA, Roadhog and Zenyatta the most. Widowmaker is fun too.
I've tried playing all heroes as needed, but those are my go-tos.
I do wish that Zarya would get a tiny buff on her shields- even just 1 or 2 seconds less on the cooldown of her personal barrier would be nice.

Got a quintuple kill with Mei, and didn't get Play of the Game.
What.
The.
Hell?
One of my teammates even complained about it in game chat because it was such an obvious screw-up on the part of the game AI.
And I can't save the video for my own later perusal because it somehow never occurred to Blizzard that players might want to do so. The option to save the videos (which are deleted when you sign off) is something that they'll be adding in the future.
At least I got an Achievement out of it, though. Four of the kills were from Mei's ultimate (the fifth was the enemy teammate that ran up just afterward).
Another second or two cool down decrease on Zarya's barrier would be awesome. Same goes for Winston's shield. Although I imagine cool downs are at least partially balanced, if the team would run multiples of the same character. I hope Blizz adds more maps soon, not because I'd be bored of them. Hanamura or Volskaya are nightmares for me.

Spoiler:
I like this one for Pharah, and I even have the matching voice line, too.

Using Reinhardt's charge on Mei that jumped in front of you always results in pure satisfaction. She could easily get less health for the murder/crowd control potential she has in her kit.
Saw something hilarious today. On the second objective in the Ilios map, enemy Reinhardt charged in one doorway, through the room, out the opposite doorway, and over the edge into the sea.

I've taken out the enemy team that way. I'm sure my Winston/Reinhardt has given my opponents something to laugh about.
Today I've seen Junkrat throwing a mine, Winston ran towards him, mine detonated and threw Winston directly into the well (Ilios map). Play of the game.

Yay, I got the achievement for rezzing four people at once! We were on attack on King's Row and just cleared most of the enemy off the objective. One teammate had just fallen, but as we were so close to the spawn, I wasn't going to use the rez. Then, the magic words "Fire in the hole!" I ducked back, saw the tire come out, blow, and kill three of my teammates. I ran forward and watched that little rez triangle count up to 4 and hit Q. Woohoo!
Got Play of the Game for it, and ten votes at the end of the match, too.

Yeah, the bottomless well that's in the middle of one of the objectives in Ilos makes things interesting. It's always amusing when an enemy Rheinhardt charges into that objective area, and then accidentally falls in.

Playing on Li Jiang Tower, on the garden map, I charged an enemy Reinhardt and nailed him to a wall. He charged me back and we went straight our the door. We were aimed directly at the edge of the map and went crashing through the railing. I thought 'well, at least we're both dead'. But his thruster cut out exactly on the edge of the map. I got flung a few extra meters... off into oblivion. Could not have been better timed.

STILL haven't got this. Almost did, on a Vostroya defense, after a Reaper dropped in and annihilated 4 team members. As I went to fly in from the side though our Mei ice walled the gap, blocking me. I damn near raged until I realised it was my partner trying to save herself. Then I just internally raged.
Blah, 1:5 victory/loss. I managed to get a pattern down after five matches. People are scared to get on objectives. I was constantly dying, it only then clicked me that I assumed people will want to cover the guy that's trying to push the car or stall the payload.
Managed to unlock Mercy's achievment. Group plan. Quite a lot of Genji kills in one game too.

I've pretty much stopped playing the game entirely unless I have a group of friends. The game becomes a pointless rage inducing grind in solo play.
I just got my quad-res achievement today too I saw a pile of dead bodies, flew over to res em and was surprised to see a 4 on my screen Also got play of the game.. and it's saved in my highlights.. I wish there was a way I could record it and put it on youtube or something. I tried the xbox game DVR and it says it won't let me record from a preferences screen. There's that twitch TV thing, but every time I use that it says I'm not logged on and won't let me start a broadcast, even though I am logged on. Not that important, just would be fun if we could share or favorite clips, don't understand why they bother recording but not let anyone share them.
Automatically Appended Next Post: figured it out, I had sharing videos turned off in my preferences for some reason. I had to copy my game clip to my one drive and then put it on youtube
Still would be cool if there was some kind of built in way you could share clips, looks like they're all stored on the server somewhere and downloaded when you select them.

I Always like the Idea of new heroes being introduced, and what their abilities would be like
Here is my take on the Luchador looking robot above LĂșcio...
(Lets call him Roboto)
Tank
450 health, 150 armour
Abilities
Knockout- A Swift punch knocks enemies away from you (opposite to roadhogs hook) cooldown-8 secs
Wrestle- Roboto grabs an enemy in front of him and does an RKO type thing, this pins the enemy to the ground and does 50 damage Cooldown-10 secs
Weapon
Robo Fists- Punch enemies in front of you (same damage as reinhardts hammer)
Ultimate
Mariachi- Mariachi music plays, and Roboto does a belly slam into the ground, causing 500 damage to the enemy he landed on, all other enemies in a radius are knocked back, he then gains 5x melee speed for 5 secs (the mariachi music plays though the whole thing)
Passive- Robotic Resiliance- Roboto takes 15% less damage and only takes 50% more damage on headshots (instead of the usual 100% more damage on headshots)
Got Zenyata's Ifrit skin, I dig the vibe of a skin and character but really don't feel playing a squishy Zenyata. Still waiting for a Mercy's or Reinhardt's skin.

He does not have any tank abilities, though.
Even Roadhog, the most DPSy of the tanks, has a powerful selfheal.
I should think of a new signature... In the meantime, have a

It's funny while I enjoy playing with friends I've found the rage-inducing thing to be totally opposite. I never get salty in soloQ because hey if some random dude on the internet messes up or does something dumb I don't care it's some dude on the internet. When my best friend messes up? It's like dang it, Doug wtf are you doing? WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME!? I expected more from you!

I have the same reaction as you but for different reasons. When I play solo queue I at least find the matches are fun and generally even; sure, you get the ding-dongs that won't stand on the freakin point preferring to snipe while the clock runs out, but meh. Group queue is just rage city. I play with a couple friends, 3-4 of us usually, so we quite often get paired with another small group against a full 6 person team that is clearly planning on going competitive. Like, "get shut down in your base because their timing and communication are so on point" type of games. It's infuriating that Blizz would group games like that, because while both teams are 6 people, one team has a serious leg up over the other.
I got a friend who' really, really salty whenever the team is losing. Like, he's fine with a close game where we lose, and of course loves winning, whether it's close or runaway- but if our team isn't doing well, he gets really, really pissed off.
On the subject of Characters- first off, I find i interesting that that picture seems to be missing some characters and also how similar some of the background guys are in silhouette to other characters- there's a Joker-looking guy sitting next to Luchador that seems rather Junkrat-y, the Luchabot could easily be an early concept that turned into Roadhog, the dude behind is acting like Reaper, and the hovering lady between McCree and Genji is very Pharah looking- maybe her mother, then? I also think the dude on the far left might be an early Zarya, considering he's got a similar hairstyle and a shoulder-slung minigun.
I don't know about looks, but I do think there's 2 'archetypes' that they're missing- one is a puncher (like commander dante was saying) with more grapple-y moves (a move that grabs an enemy in melee and throws them backwards over your shoulder would be awesome), and another is someone based on Fire- we've got Reinhardt and Tolbjoern, but they're both more 'molten' heroes rather than 'fire' heroes. I was thinking someone with the ability to lob fireballs that don't do much impact damage, but leave a lingering area of higher damage where they hit, and maybe have a passive where they're not as effected by Slow effects (so Mei's ice, Symmetra's turrets, etc)- someone who would be a damage variant of Mei's defensive area control. Maybe have a self-centered AoE explosion that knocks enemies back as their E, and a fire trail for their Shift.

I had a game last night in Ilios, the one with the bottomless pit in the middle of the objective area. A guy on my team was playing lucio and just running around the hole knocking bad guys inside He got play of the game killing I think 4 in a row like that
