I hope I'll manage to get more people to play with. Got Blackhearth skin in the next loot box, felt like a game took pity on me for the stomps it puts me through.
On Ilios map with the pit, I once bounced Mei into it for about four times during the game. Made the other guy swap. The player went into his cryo stasis right next to the edge, might as well take the advantage.

Don't know if it's just xbox, but it seems to be a lot longer wait times for me when I join games.. sometimes as long as 3-4 minutes. it used to be pretty instant. Was wondering if it's trying to match me with people closer to my level? I'm 34 now I think, and I don't think I've seen anyone on my team under 10 in a while, in fact most seem to be in the 20-40ish range
Levels don't matter. It's just a rough indication of how long a person has been playing the game. I also have a bit longer queues. Supposedly Blizz is going to drop new maps and heroes soon.
This song is also just chill.

If the matchmaking is taking a lot longer it probably means your MMR is climbing higher. It's harder to match folks on either extreme end of the skill spectrum but there are more really bad people than really good. I'm sure XboX also contributes as I'd bet the player pool is probably a fair bit smaller. Level is just a playtime indicator really and does not play a huge role in match making.
Thankfully I'm a total scrub and so it still find matches for me pretty easily as there are so many other bads to hang with.
Also after a few sessions with friends Genji has managed to climb to the top of my playtime list. Not that he's my favorite hero anything, I still enjoy Mei & Mercy more. However I had couple long sessions where my buddy was playing Zarya and of the things you can use to slice up a bunch of people stuck in the Grave Bomb Genji's is by far the most satisfying for me.
It's annoying when entire team starts spamming "I need healing." Especially Genji or Tracer.
As Zarya I enjoy setting up the game. Always a bit sad when no one else reports the status of their ultimate or my shot that clumped at least four enemies hasn't been used to full potential. Although in the last few games I actually had to take a role of a DPS character. New experience.

if I hear I need healing, and they're not right near me, then they're better off dying and respawning. For me it's always some dummy that ran off to get frags. I'm gonna stick with the rest of the team at the objective, so if you want heals, come to the healer and get em
i know she can be really good but i cant play her.
as a tracer, i kinda figured out where all the heal packs are never once had to actually ask for a heal. (besides when i accidentally hit the need healz button next to the emote wheel :/)

Some things I've figured out as Zarya:
Don't pop your personal shield the moment you engage. Since the first 200 of her hit points are shields and regenerate saving them isn't a priority. Wait until your real HP is about to burn then pop it, you'll get more total mileage.
Don't pre-shield allies. The shield expires too quickly try and shield an ally ahead of taking damage, think of it like a combat heal. Put it on somebody already under fire so you get the full value.
Turrets don't deal enough damage to eat through your personal shield and kill you quickly. Run in front them and your allies can kill them, or if you can get close you burn them with your beam before they eat into your real hp. Mind you this will leave you vulerable to other attackers.
Call out your ultimate regularly, and even text/voice tell your team: Hey Genji/Pharah/Reaper i'll save my ult for yours. I've found even doing the emotes: "Group up with me", "My ultimate is ready", "Group up with me" is enough for a lot of people to understand what you're trying to do.
Don't use your ult ultimate the enemy reihardt is down or elsewhere. Even if the enemy is clumped it's impossible for your allies who aren't genji or reihardt to follow up on you while he has that huge shield.
Your alt fire has a very healthy aoe, it's a great way to be sure you get that last point of damage off by chuking in their general direction like a Pharah rocket.

One of the most infuriating things for me when I play Mercy is when I'm behind Reinhart and as soon as his shield drops he decides to shoot himself across the board. I don't even bother trying to follow him anymore, cuz it just gets me killed. I just let him die and come back and focus on healing the rest of the team.
One of my more annoying opponents lately is Symetra.. if someone knows how to play her and knows where to put the mini turrets, she can be real nasty. Another thing that really annoys me is when people stand there and get zapped away by her turrets and don't even try to take em out.. they think they can run through and live and it never works. Or they got frags on their mind and don't pay attention to their surroundings. Sometimes I feel like I do more turret killing with my little pistol than the rest of the team.

Don't, you're not my pocket healer. There are others that might need you. If I do this as Reinhardt it's mostly because there's no backup and it's just you and me. Most likely we're dead, but I can try to push people away from the car or maybe even take someone with me. The other situation when I do this is quite simple. I took a gamble, sometimes it pays off. In duels of Reinhardt versus Reinhardt it's the one that gets the charge also tends to win decisively.

Had a fantastic bit during one of the Weekly Brawls- it was Random Hero time, on... uh, the Genji/Hanzo map (Nakamura?) in the dojo- we were defending, and we randomed into a Bastion, a Torbjorn, and me as a Mercy. There was also a Symmetra, so we all ended up with shields, armour, and I was doing some crazy healing/damage boosting to my buds- flying out when someone needed healing in the dojo proper, flying back when I started taking damage. I think I ended up with, like, 45% participation in team damage.

I just got Overwatch last weekend and have kinda fallen in love with it. Not particularly good at it or anything, I'm still trying to figure it all out and I'm strictly a casual player, but if anyone's interested in having more people to play non-competitive games with feel free to add me. I've been pretty laid-back and having fun with it so far, treating it the same way I did TF2 (never been into "e-sports" much), but it does get frustrating playing with random people sometimes as there's no real coordinated effort and everyone just kinda does what they wanna do.

Probably because they were all Hanzo players?
The nice thing about the weekly brawl is that you get to play characters you normally don't. I suck at Hanzo, Widow, McCree, and Genji, so it got to be my chance to actually play as them.

I kinda figured that if you already got "play of the game" the algorithm mostly decided that you probably didn't need to be in the voting screen, because after all, you were already acknowledged as being awesome.
I hate Hanzo, really just because I can't play him. My aim isn't good enough to fire 1 shot at a time at moving targets, I need to be able to spray & pray. I tried a random hero game last night and of course got stuck being hanzo like 3 different times. I tried Zenyata in that game too and he seemed to work better for me. Last night was sucky game after sucky game for me though. Out of whatever amount I played I think I only had 1 win. Everyone had their dunce caps on I guess.
The issue I have with Hanzo is that I play Snipers as, well, Snipers. Find a nest, watch the battle, carefully line up a shot for maximum effect, let it go when I'm mostly assured of hitting and killing.
Widowmaker really works for me in that regard. Hanzo, not as much. I'm fine hitting moving targets, as long as I don't have to move at the same time.
@SidStyler- I got a friend who's of the same mind- he's not a Dakkaite, but he's wanting others to play with- gimme your Overwatch name and I can add you as a Friend next time we play, if you want.

anyone else have the problem of getting many many plays of the games but never getting on the commendation screen?
Stop playing Bastion?
