I think Winston is underpowered overall. WHich I thought was unexpected since he seems to be like one of the main guys in the story. His shield doesn't last long, his gun is wimpy, just about anyone can get away from him, even when he's in rage mode. I think the only time I ever got killed by a winston was if my health was already a little low and I didn't have anyone on my team to fly away to. He seems to have a lot of health, so that's nice. Maybe if they could just give is gun an alt longer range mode that would be a good improvement for him.

I feel Winston is fine. I'd like to have more damage on his gun, maybe a second faster recharge on his jump.

I learned the hard way: Winston's Rage attacks won't knock around a Bastion in turret mode. :(

I do feel like Winston could use something, but I just don't know what.

I think they need to either buff his damage or hp, then again I think he supposed to be the guy who jumps around in the back area of enemy team and take out snipers or supports.

Maybe give him a little more armour?

Or, if you're doing damage, you could make it (if it doesn't already work this way) so that his Tesla cannon fires a certain number of bolts at a time (say, 5?) which all do damage and track independantly. Then, if you're focusing on a single target, you're doing 5X the damage- if there's more targets, (like in a big old charlie foxtrot like he likes to jump into) then it's a bunch of lesser damage bolts spread out among the different enemies.

I think, right now, his cannon just shoots one bolt per target- granted, it's an unlimited number of targets, so Symmetra turrets are boned, but it means he cannot focus a single higher-health or higher-threat target.

Winston is pretty powerful but the problem is he has a lot of hard counters. You have to be fighting the right enemy team composition to do well with him. Roadhogs are really common and shut him down hard as well.

I like that, though. Can't stand pay-to-win, and I've never put as much time into games like that with gold ammo or guns, or where I feel like I'm at such a disadvantage as a new player that I might as well not bother as I'll never match up to the people who can afford to dump almost literally all their time into it. This game is like the new TF2 for me, I feel like I'm addicted to it and I play it whenever I can. I'd love to get better with Genji and I absolutely adore Tracer, but I almost literally never get to play them, except during the weekly brawl with random heroes this past weekend (where I'm pretty sure I did get PotG with Tracer once, though it was fairly unimpressive as my bomb only killed like 2 people).

I've been playing Soldier 76 a lot more lately if someone else is playing Mercy or Lucio. He's been lots of fun. I tried Reaper since I got his white mariachi outfit, but I didn't like his short range. I find myself mercilessly hunting down Mercy whenever I see her. She's only allowed to live if she's on my team

So lately I've been doing Solider 76 on attack mode, and trobjorn on defense. I love games where everyone is trobjorn, the other team never gets anywhere near the objective. I'm also glad I haven't had to go up against a team like that yet. It annoys the hell outta me when no one ever bothers to even try and take out the turrets.. why do you think you keep dying? pay attention people!

The point of the rank system is to get people with relatively the same amount of game time playing together. instead of having a brand spanking new player against one with 200 hours.

otherwise it will probably be used for the ranked games system eventually.

and overall its just a emblem or badge that people can stroke when they are feeling gloaty.

They already do it with PoTG spam on Reddit and posting their statistics from Master Overwatch.

Either team or no, Blizzard's matchmaking insist on 1:5 victory/defeat ratio. I'm starting to suspect the 50% win rate their coding team brags about is one glorified lie.

As Reinhardt it frustrates me even more, as Mercy with her pistol can take out the turret. I have games where she stands behind me and doesn't do anything other than having her healing beam on me. :-/

When I'm Mercy I always shoot out the turrets.. bastions too. I mean, it's so easy. Stand behind reinharts shield, and shoot em till they're dead. I don't understand why other people don't get it. Something is wrong if the healer is doing the killing

The best is when the team jumps in front of the shield, like its going to help them

What about D.VA? I heard they were gonna buff her a little- are they still trying to figure that out?

Personally, I think she should just have a much higher Ult charge rate when her Meka gets destroyed- it'd make her Tankier, basically having her be not too tough, not too damaging, but with a whole lotta lives and very difficult to keep down.

Personally would rather D.va ulti go off quicker instead. its almost never going to go off on anyone since they all have more than enough time to gtfo.

or otherwise another option would be to give her a little utlity by maker her shots slow a bit. making it easier for the team to shoot people.

or just otherwise speed up her walking during shooting.

Wouldn't argue with that. It takes so long to get her mech back, that on most maps, it's almost more worthwhile just to die and respawn.

I'd also wouldn't argue with a change to her shield that makes melee attacks bounce off of it. I'm sick and tired of having her get charged by Rheinhardt - while her shield is up - and then getting pinned in place while he beats her to death with his hammer. "Shield? What shield?"

Honestly, I think a lot of abilities across the board would work better as toggleables- like Soldier 76's Sprint or Lucio's different songs. D.VA's Defense Matrix would be very worthwhile if it was a sort of alt-fire- either you shoot, or you shield, and you're slower at walking either way- but that would infringe on Reinhardt's shield. Zarya's bubbles could be similar, but that would make it too easy for her to charge up. And McCree's roll ought to have a cooldown closer to Mercy's follow, rather than as long as it is, which is more akin to Genji's dash attack (especially considering the Dash has a quicker recharge based on eliminations- though I suppose McCree's roll does reload his gun...)

Balancing this sort of thing is interesting as a mental exercise, but it's a point to Blizzard's experience that things are so balanced as-is.

I suggest you look at the control options. You can actually customise a lot of options for each hero. Among them are Sprint and Lucio's songs, as well as such things has health bars for friendlies with Soldier, auto wall climb for Genji...

I did not know about that- however, I think you misunderstand me.

I mean some abilities seem like they should be 'turn on- last forever until turned off' style abilities like Sprint and the Songs- but they instead have limited runtimes- D.VA's Defense Matrix only lasts for a couple seconds, Zarya's barriers are the same way. They just feel like they ought to be toggles instead of cooldown based.

D.VA doesn't need much, due to her armour she laughs at soldier, Tracer and Winston. It's rather easy to score a head shot, since it's entire cockpit area. Damage is also good, considering you don't need to reload. I'd like to see slightly faster movement during shooting but I'd be careful with this aspect too. Smaller cockpit area would also be wonderful.

To be fair, everyone has gigantic head hitboxes, apparently. D.VA's just one of the heroes with the issue where her head is at the front of the bulk, much like Winston- so aiming for center of mass on her is a headshot, unlike on other heroes.

Quite, the hit boxes are big.Tanks in general are easier to hit in the head due to their size, however they're also a bit more survivable.

Anyone knows when Funko is planning their OW release for Europe? I'd grab a Winston plushie from Blizz store but the postal cost is a deal breaker.

Worst "stolen" POTG I've seen: Pharah uses her ultimate to team wipe (aka kill all 6) all alone, on the point stopping a push on a KOTH map, yet the POTG goes to a lucio who got a triple enviro killike in an earlier round =P

Environment kills are weighted very heavily by the system. Also since environment kills are always instant kills when an environment kills happen, they're more likely to have killed someone from full health. Since the system also weights how much of the damage you got credit for, this compounds with the already heavy weighting for environment kills to make a Lucio bouce of a full hp character off a ledge worth like 3 "regular" kills where you do most of the work.
