Aye, it was amazing.. would happily pay to see something longer set in the Overwatch universe.

Considering how the game is designed, this is unlikely, but hell, I'd be totally down for it if it became a reality

I'm thinking that, since Warcraft was something of a success, Blizzard might start making more films set in their worlds. I think a Diablo film would be killer, and Overwatch is, of course, ripe for good storytelling opportunities.

I've seen speculation that Overwatch started out as a way to use assets left over from Titan. Haven't seen anything to actually indicate whether or not that's the case, though.

I think that's truth. Reaper especally, I heard, is basically just a re-used class from Titan.

And there's a Chinese company that used the whole gamecode to create their own 'proof of concept' Overwatch MMO.

They state straight up in the making of Overwatch that this is (some) the left overs of Titan mostly its world and lore. Tracer was their first hero designed for Titan and has been around since all those many years of development.

Had a great game today. My team got the brilliant idea to go all Winston on a king of the hill game (on Nepal). I was the only non-Winston on my team (I was Mercy). Such fun times. *sarcasm*

I have noticed that one thing appearing more regularly in quick play is hero spam - yesterday I encountered three in the 6 games I played; triple Winston, quadruple Torbjorn and Quintuple 76. Sure you can counter these easily by spamming an appropriate counter, but the game kinda stagnates in that sense after you've played about 3 or 4 of these "what if" matches

6x Symmetra was some silly fun last night, though it turns out D:Va counters them pretty hard when she can use her ult to clear out the turret nest.

I agree that some games like that can be super fun for both sides (such as 6 Symmetras or when everyone went Mercy and had airborne duels), but most of the time it's just frustrating. Last game the entire enemy team (bar one healer) went tank characters on Watchpoint Gibraltar, and the rest of my team couldn't make any progress against them.

Honestly dont mind the dup characters. can be fun in a group with coordination.

also counting those isn't all that hard.

just got to actually switch out to a good counter.

i had a similar situation with enemy Winston on Nepal.

just went bastion, sat in a corner where i can see the objective and melted them one at a time.

my favorite is 5dva 1 lucio. if you get the timing right the enemy cant escape the explosions

Also shouldnt of spent my gold weapon on Dva's junker skin :/ gold on yellow was a bad idea.

Of course you can always counter spam teams, but after having about 3 or 4 of these matches the novelty of having hero spam wears off quickly, for me at least. If I were playing with normals in groups then I'd be cool with it - would love to play some Symmetra Dodgeball

Personally I think the gold skins for weapons look really tacky - pure gold with no depth, shading or wear and tear always makes it look too shiney and awful. These guns in particular clash with pretty much any skin in the game bar for maybe 76's Gold skin; the only reason you'd want the gold weapons is for bragging rights, and frankly, I don't think they're worth that.

Give us something like a gold stamp, or gold trim, or even have the mechanical parts of the weapons gold - those would be skins I'd play competitive for

Also, I failed on getting D.VA's Taeguekgi skin, but don't worry, Blizzard say they're going to be repeating events next year. "We want these items to be rare, one off opportunities". Yeah right

Wait, the gold weapons are skin-based? I thought they were character- based. Are you sure you can't equip the gold weapon on a different skin?

You can equip them on any skin, and it replaces any design that skin has for its weapons - apologies if my post made it sound like they're a full skin. They are skins in every other regard though

It just sounded like they got 'attached' to a single skin, so that if you got them for the Junker, you couldn't use them, say, on the Bee.Va unless you bought them again for that one.

i bough it on dva junker. but il see if i can move it onto another of her skins.

You buy golden weapons for that hero, and they apply to all their skins regardless of which one you were wearing when you bought it. You can basically toggle them on and off once you've bought them under the weapon skin menu if you don't fancy them. Since they cost quite a lot of competitive points and many hours in game to unlock them for a single hero, it'd be ludicrous to have them apply to only one skin.

Yup, gold guns are just for competitive bragging rights and a message from you to other players saying "hey, I'm pretty good with D.VA guys, move along" since players will only get them naturally for the characters they're good with; they cost too many points to get them for all the heroes without bunching in literally hundreds of hours in competitive to buy them all.

I personally think most of them look garbage, but I seem to be one in the minority when it comes to what looks "cool" in Overwatch - hell, outside of a few choice skins like White Rabbit, I actually prefer the classic skins of all the heroes.

i love some, i hate others, i missed out on origin skins and so will never get that awesome ptsd bastion skin.

Well, you could always buy the Origins Edition and lose all your progress

tbh I don't think the Origin skins merited another 15 bucks. Sure they're pretty neat, but compared to the other legendaries that you can acquire in the game, I don't think they stack up as well.

I keep my Bastion with the Pink skin, and play him on Offence. Haterz gonna hate

I actually like the Orgins skin for Soldier and Tracer, and I prefer them over the legendary skins for either of them. Different preferences I suppose

Not denying how cool they are, I just wouldn't splash 15 more America Bucks for them (or 10,000 Pounds given current inflation). But I do agree, 76's and Tracer's Legendaries aren't too great. Well, the Commando Skins are pretty sick.

It's actually pretty funny how often the rare skins are overlooked compared to the epics and legendaries because they're just recolours; I saw an Ana player with a red recolour today, and it actually looked pretty amazing. Plus you stand out more in games because everyone is gunning for legendaries while you're pretty happy with a rare

That's actually rather true. I use one of the "rare" Pharah skins and I see a TON of her legendary skins on everyone else
