See, my theory is that they're going to make an Omnic Tank, and an Omnic Assault character, at some point. Since they already have Bastion and Zenyatta.

If they do make Sombra (or whoever) a Stealth hero, it's going to go like this:

Movement skill (shift) will be a short-term cloak. 5 seconds, maybe, during which they will be visually camo'd, but not auditorially cloaked. Weapons will be dual knives of some sort, with Headshot enabled. 'E' skill will be a smoke bomb (possibly? or some sort of projectile that doesn't do a lot of damage but has utility). And their Passive will be that any attack from the back of their target does extra damage. 200 Health, maybe 1/4 of it being Shield. Maybe.

They'll be all about positioning and sneak attacks, and will be able to one-shot squishies that they manage to get rear head-shots on, but, since they're melee, they'll have to use the Cloak to get in close enough, or get out after.

Of course, this is all speculation without knowing anything about the 'evidence' that has been presented.

Listening to a bunch of the audio rips from the ptr i hear it might be possible that she can actually make some one else stealth too.

she will probably get stuck in support or defense

Now a tank is probably going to be doom fist. im hoping for a big bruiser like rhine and roadhog but more brezerker style with no ranged. all melee and hopefully gets stronger the more hurt he is.

That's true, Doomfist is probably going to be a character. I'm sort of hoping they put him in as an Assault, in a way. Have a big, slightly-tanky Attacker with melee. If he had no, or very little armour, say 300 or 350 health, normal move speed and pure melee attacks, I think they could balance it out. I mean, Genji's hard to hit when close in, yeah, but a Reinhardt-sized character? Not as much. So I think Reinhardt without armour or shields would be the way to go- but of course, that's not a Tank anymore, is it?

Consecutive regular punches, big gigaton blast punch thing (maybe one that stuns for a second in AoE like in the trailer?), and perhaps a high-jump ledge-grab or something.

It's not really about the importance of the rez that gets people, it's the lack of any thrill (and (very much arguably) skill) that makes them bad POTGs. A POTG is supposed to show the best demonstration of skill (or even luck) in that match, rather than someone just clicking a button and letting everything else do the work. You could say the same for something like D.VA's Ultimate, but at least that requires the setup, perfect positioning and brilliant multikill to score POTG.

All that being said, the POTG system is still a broken concept imo. It only stars a select few of the Overwatch cast since it has a strict parameter on what qualifies as POTG - Killstreaks, Multikills and Rezzes, and because of that they are very predictable and often boring, which defeats about 90% of their purpose.

My personal favourite was one of Torbjorn running back from the spawn point while his turret got a triple kill. Thrilling stuff.

Unlucky I guess Overwatch is a lovely great floating target for such attacks, although I haven't been playing competitive when they've happened before.

It's not Overwatch that's being targeted. It's the entirety of Battle.net. It's screwing up all of the games that Blizzard hosts online.

The POTG system is indeed broken. I managed to get a quad kill as Soldier with my ult on Attack on Temple of Anubis right on the point and the play went to a ult shutdown by Reinhardt

Nice job Desu!

Also, is it bad that on Watchpoint for a 5-man stack to utterly annihilate a 6 man stack? (where the entire enemy team was in a group?)

Well being in a group will only get you so far :/ they still have to be able to contribute

i have been on some double 3 man stacks verses a full 6 man stack and won many a times.

You know. I say the same thing a lot when I play as Mercy. A good portion of the time when people complain about not getting healed (at least in my case) it's because I got killed by that Genji that everyone is ignoring

I believe people get kill hungry. They don't know when to let a wounded enemy go (not that you always should) or when to die for the team. The number of times I've told someone to contest a point and they're like 'Oh but I'll die!' ... ugh... If you don't contest that game is over you idiot! Sometimes you just gotta take one for the team.

Unfortunately, Overwatch has become too popular for players to be matched with other players who have a brain. Solo queue Competitive still has a massive problem with point trickling, which is perhaps the most frustrating problem a team can have.

My latest revelation this month while I've been away from a keyboard is that D.VA's pink dags must be implants - she has them even in her Hollywood movie poster

Could be just me, but is anyone here into the Overwatch lore? It was one of the primary things that got me into it back in 2014, along with the hopes of finally being able to play something like TF2 again.

I've read a great deal of the background for the game, so I know the basics. But I don't know any of the REALLY in-depth stuff. Closest I've gotten is a discussion about whether or not Genji and Mercy have a thing going ok

Sorry guys, I meant to post here the other day, but read it and forgot about it. Nice to see people interested in the lore - I think the shorts in the future should help answer questions I and others have so far.

Symmetra is great fun, and secretly pretty bloody good - I got a 17 killstreak with her once. Plus, her Photon Projector can travel through Reindhart's shield, and the primary fire gets more powerful the longer you keep the target in range. Great against D.VAs, Tracers, Genjis and Reindharts I've found.

It's funny that you say that about it traveling through Reins shield. Many players seem to not know that still, the other day I had a game where it was just me and a low health Rein on the point and I fired a ball at him. He yanked his shield up and just stood there while it floated towards him, and then booped him in the head and killed him.

They need more characters like Symmetra. Support characters who aren't necessarily healers, a good Sym teleporter can turn the tide of a fight

That would have made me giggle if I saw that; guess Symmetra is not a common enough choice for people to know. Shame really. Much like Mei, who has recently joined top tier meta, she is an unsung hero in the Overwatch cast.

You probably did, and I just missed it, but the sentiment stands.

I also agree about Sym being an unsung hero. 99% of the time it seems a team wants a second healer rather than someone like Sym. Admittedly, she's a bit less useful in some game modes, but to me it's a shame that she gets so much less love than some heroes.

Thing is, the've pretty much hit the bottom of the barrel in terms of 'types of healer'- They've got the high-speed single-target, the Aura, the long-term focus, and the long-range burst-healer. They've each also sorta cross-pollinated into other aspects of support, such as speed boosts, damage boosts, healing boosts, and enemy debuffs. Even their Ults cover the gamut- Resurrection, Extra Health, Damage Reduction and Immunity.

Which means they really can't do many more Healers in Support.

I could see a Stealth support- passive sound dampeners that reduce ally footfalls in an aura, 'ninja vanish' smoke cloud, that sort of thing.

I could see a Movement Support- dropping down jump pads or ladders, possibly putting sticky spots on walls that friendlies could attach to for sneaky hijinks or unique sniper nests, and maybe sticky slowing areas for enemies. A 'slime' themed Hero, maybe.

I could see a visual/confusion/tracker Support- being able to 'spot' enemies, blinding foes while highlighting them for allies, maybe capable of seeing enemy health bars.

There's lots of options, really, especially if they're not too worried about copying one or two gimmicks from other Heroes (with their own twists, of course).

I'm honestly not too fussed about what a new potential support could do, so long as it's not another healer. Don't get me wrong, Mercy is my most played character, but we don't need more healers. Maybe if we had more support support characters than heroes like Symmetra would see more play time

Truthfully, it was a mistake of them to classify Symmetra as a Support to begin with.

Her and Torbjorn did not belong as Defense or Support. They should have been classified as "Builders", despite just being the two of them. Just like Widowmaker, Ana, and Hanzo should have been classed as "Snipers".

I'm kind of hoping our next builder is an Omnic who builds little drones or another former Overwatch agent. A guy who can build defensive walls or something like that would be kinda cool. Maybe a force field projector?

That's why I dislike Bastion. It's not that he's OP against a team that can communicate and flank, but that does not describe pugs. I know that 80% of the time when he's on the enemy team, they're going to trickle in one at a time and give him Leftclick Of The Game.

Speaking of D:va, I've noticed when she gets put to sleep by Ana, her hands are still twitching on the joysticks. Dreaming of a multikill.
