One of my goals is to get a Steampunk-y skin for everyone- and until Junkenstein, the scarecrow one was the closest for Junkrat. But now, I can be a MAD SCIENTIST! MUAHAHAHAHA!

16 loot boxes after the event started, mostly duplicates and some sprays I don't care about. Really love that I can buy a skin with coins.

After about 60 hours of trying I finally got the Special Delivery achievement

Got Ana's "Ghoul" skin last night.

Got the Reaper skin on my first Halloween box. It was like another 15 minutes before I sat back down to have a game. I'm quite unfortunate to legendary skins I think, so this was a nice surprise!

I got a couple skins, but I really, really want Junkenstein still. I might actually buy some loot boxes for this one.

Does anyone have some tips for playing Pharah? (besides practice). I love playing as her, but I've yet to do much of anything spectacular with her

I should have gotten a PotG with her at least once. Killed four at once on the enemy team with her ult, and followed up with a fifth kill when another enemy player ran over to that area a few seconds after the others died.

Stupid screwed up system.


On another note, I was looking at the new skins in the gallery, and noticed that Mei and Winston are the only two characters that have yet to receive a special event skin. They didn't get a Summer Games skin, and they don't have a Halloween skin.

Remember that her rockets have a blast radius. It can be useful in hitting someone who's otherwise out of sight.


Also, be careful with her ult. It tends to turn you into a pincushion as everyone on the opposing team with LoS opens fire on you.

But you probably already know that.

She's an Attacker, but she's NOT FRONT LINES. That's the big thing. A lot of people look at her, and think "She's all armoured, she can take a beating!", but that's not the case. Her place is behind the lines, using her superior range and the splash of her rockets to attack targets of opportunity, wear down tanks, focus turrets and healers, and just generally hassle the enemy. Use her Rocket Jump to get high ground, use her hover to bob unpredictably in the air, or avoid Flankers with a combo Rocket Jump and Hover, blasting them away with your Pulse.

Save your Ult until you either need to clear an area, or the enemy are trapped or slowed somehow. Zarya is your best friend, because her Bubble protects you during your Ult, and HER Ult is a perfect setup for you, ulting or not (because splash and rockets).

Keep moving, stay back, wait for prime opportunities.

Yeah Eumerin, I figured that our REAL fast. I did manage to get gold damage and silver elims tonight in my first game. People never look up on KotH maps, making it easy.to drop rockets on their heads.

I'm betting that Mei and Winston will be lined up for Christmas themed outfits- Santa Winston and SnowMei.

Got my Junkenstein skin, life is good

Pharrah, as noted, is best used at a distance. She often works well as a 'sniper' using long range rockets to pummel groups or break up sniper positions.

By that, her splash damage means you can still hit snipers who just pull inside the window/hole they are looking out from.

Her concussion missile is nice for environmental kills and for getting out of a sticky situation. Use it if Roadhog reels you in or to blast a swarm off the payload.

Dont be afraid to play the ground game ether. wall peak and shoot to minimize getting Mc shot in the face instead of being out in the open 20 stories up.

There's something utterly satisfying about getting direct rocket hits on Widowmaker from long range as my team is pushing up

Got new Pixel sprays for unlocking an achievement for Widowmaker and then for Ana.
Finally hit 25!
Got a Play of the Game for the first time! (It was only with Bastien... but still! POTG!)
Got invited to a group with other players and even made a friend from it.

Gone through about 15 boxes, not a single skin. RNG hates me so much. At least I somehow got most of the victory poses. Which are a bit boring to be honest.

D.VA's victory pose for the Halloween event is pretty funny - just rotate it round to the back

Skins seem to be deliberately difficult to acquire, even the basic rare ones, supposedly to encourage buying boxes. Mind you the first box I ever opened in Overwatch was a Legendary skin. Sadly that was on a friend's account

I still don't own my own PC and copy of Overwatch yet, so I'll miss out on all the event items. Luckily I'm quite fond of the classic skins, and the ones available in the base game.

Yeah I'm largely disappointed in most of the Halloween victory poses, imo they would have been better if they did more to personalise each gravestone to the character you have it for (like maybe Torb's has some mechanical parts to it and has his turret guarding it or some gak like that). That being said; however, I DO like Ana's, Reaper's, D.va's and Bastion's

Some of them have more bits and pieces on them than others - a cool event gimmick nonetheless

In other news, D.VA is becoming a Starcraft 2 announcer; you can get some soundbites here

I never liked Starcraft, so it doesn't bother me. Still cool though

So badly want the event emote for Ana. Love to play her.

The reaction is understandable as many probably hoped it's going to be something cooler, rather than something that's cross promoting Blizzard's IP games.

Still not on a level of the horrible Tyrande promotion for hearthstone. I think that set a really high bar to beat.

Also, the bridges on Lijang Tower are great for using her repulsion pulse.

Skins are shockingly hard to come by in loot boxes, and even when you get them they are often dupes or all for one character it seems. Then the duplicate coinage you get is lousy. Makes obtaining items very difficult
