They need to sell loot boxs some how.

its not like the game is subscription based as well its a cosmetic and so has no impact in game.

but i really do hate the box system some times as i feel i get a lot of potatoes.

I'm not too bugged by skins being hard to get, but y'know...it wouldn't have been hard at all for them to program the seasonal/event loot boxes to not duplicate their seasonal/event items.

Yeah Dupicates are the worst. but at least they seem to be getting better with the whole you can purchase event items with tokens. but they really need to reconsider duplicate gold bonus.

its like 10-20% returns or something like that. kinda pathetic.

Um? They do sell Loot Boxes. That's the who basis of their microtransaction system. You can get boxes from levelling (which never stops, btw, so you're basically guaranteed to eventually get everything either via coinage or rng) or you can pay real-world monies for them.

I was hinting to the fact that the skin drop rates are probably very low so that people will be more drawn to buying loot boxes for more chances at said skin and or gather more gold resource. especially during a limited event.

So the funniest thing just happened to me in this game. I was defending on Temple of Anubis when the enemy Rein got nanoboosted. Blizzard added voice lines for each character when they're boosted, so Reinhardt shouts "Are you ready? Here I come!". He then dropped his shield and jumped towards the point where we were. Just as he finished that last word; however, he got killed in midair by the Deadeye from a McCree on my team. So he goes from shouting at us and jumping towards us to flopping to the ground

I have may 3 or 4 more placement games to go in competitive.

I'm liking what I've played so far. At first I was thinking, it seems a little odd for this game to have a competitive mode... but then again its not like its for tournaments at events right? Its mostly just for if you want the better unlocks or something?

The season mode/competative mode is just for badges/bragging rights. Which is nice that they aren't putting in key features for top tier or purchase.

It's also to help divide up those players who most enjoy 'tryharding' and those who like to just screw around.

I know that I occasionally like jumping on Comp when I want a real hard-fought, highly competitive game, then I'll go on Quickplay for practicing heroes I don't normally play, or playing with some friends who don't like Competitive.

Maybe if you are a high enough rank, my experience has been people still try to lone gun/death match in season matches as much as in quick play. Which, given the longer match cycle and score scenes inbetween means you are much more invested in what can still be a group of uncooperative players which makes for a long game.

Its funny because i play comp to try hard at dicking around

but ditto qp is for practice

im finding i really need to work on my flanker play. i find that 90% of my loses are due to our team not getting the enemy healers or mercy so our trades become meaningless :/

Tracer is perhaps my favourite and generally the easiest for flanking - my first ever game of Overwatch netted me a 16 killstreak (0 deaths) with her on Route 66 as I Blinked behind the enemy team and caused havoc while the rest of the team pushed the payload. It's all about using pathways that aren't frequented by most players, and knowing when to withdraw - dying as a flanker is about the worst thing you can do, only go for the enemy when the odds are in your favour, and when you have your finger over the Recall button.

I also sometimes Blink right through the enemy team; when some of them go after me, I use Recall to end up behind them and kill them while they're away from their team. Try it sometime

Oh and always keep one Blink charge spare if you can, and don't forget that you can Blink from side to side and backwards

How apropos.

Yeah, I'm a Tank. I like to be the one taking damage, and taking aggro, so the rest of my team doesn't have to worry. I especially like D.VA for that, since the 'double life' thing means I can stay on the front lines for longer even if I 'die'. Zarya, of course, is my bae, but I find she only really works well with a team who're playing to their roles- Attackers up front to get bubbled, Healers behind as a place to retreat to. I don't actually like Rein or Winston's style of "Run up, retreat, run up, retreat" as much- D.VA's jets are a similar movement boost, yes, but much more flexible for positioning and less likely to get you trapped behind enemy lines. Roadhog's just a door. The other day on Hanamura Defense B, I literally just stood in the doorway, body-blocking all the enemy incoming fire, because I had good support from the team's two healers- letting everyone else focus on the flanks and balcony.

I love me some Tanks too, mainly D.VA though. I don't know if anyone's guessed already, but I'm a pretty big D.VA player

She's being buffed at the moment on the PTR - increased movement speed when she fires, to a point where you almost don't notice you're moving slower, and 100 extra health when in her Mech. Hell to the yes

So far I've only seen a buff in damage with Soldier 76 by 3 per shot. Doesn't sound like much, but from an automatic weapon... he's definitely much stronger now.

Considering how easy D.VA is to "kill" thanks to her massive crit box, and how easy a target she is when she's firing her Fusion Cannons, I can firmly say that this should be a welcome improvement for her... if it passes through the PTR, of course.

If you're dying that quickly as D.Va? I'm sorry to get into meme-like responses here...but I kinda feel like you might be doing it wrong.

She's an easy target certainly, but guess what? She can also negate multiple supers simply by bringing her shield up(Pulse Bombs and Graviton Surge are flat-out cancelled by impacting her shield) and multiple abilities that should deal damage to her shield but rather just get negated instead(Concussion Mines, Leg Trap, Scatter Arrow, Sonar Arrow, Concussive Blast, Fireblast, Nano Grenade, and Sleep Dart).

If she didn't have her Jump Jet, I would be more amenable to your argument...but saying that she's incredibly vulnerable because of how she's set up?
Her having a huge crit box is necessary, since destroying her suit does not remove her from the field unless you're lucky with an immediate follow-up hit. And because she regains her suit obscenely fast by using a ridiculously fast firing and damaging pistol.

If anything, she needs to be reverted to her damage, ROF, and shield timers being the same as they were before the change they made to her shield's mechanic alongside of the blast radius being dramatically decreased for her super or the super being unable to be activated while boosting.

Defence Matrix does not work like Reindhart's shield - any projectile or thrown weapon is blocked by it. The difference is it runs on a timer rather than health, and has a cooldown immediately after use.

She is incredibly vulnerable - the whole cockpit of her Mech is a crit box, and considering she can only deal substantial damage up close, you blow up. A lot.

The biggest example of this is Roadhog - I've lost count of how many times I've been stunlocked by his hook and instantly "killed" by his Scrap Gun thanks to the fact that you'd have to have Parkinsons to miss a headshot on D.VA. As long as the enemy Roadhog is at all competent, you will lose every single time this happens.

In general D.VA loses health at an astounding rate, which means she's often put to one side in comp selections for a Tank class that is more durable than her on their own. The only Tank that is less durable than her is Zarya. This is not including abilities, of course - D.VA's Defence Matrix is strong, but you can't keep it up like Reindhart's shield, and once you deplete it, you can be in some serious trouble.

In addition, if you are at close range, chances are you'll be killed when you eject from your Mech too; Pilot D.VA only has 150HP, no armour or shields, and no way of dodging or nullifying incoming fire - you will die most of the time in a scenario like that.

In terms of her modifications, you should be aware that she has never received a damage boost in any patch, and her last patch was actually a nerf to her new shield, increasing the 0.5 cooldown to 1 second. That's a huge difference, despite it sounding menial. These buffs are good news, as D.VA is usually dropped in favour of Reindhart, considering that Reindhart has more health, is more durable, has a longer lasting damage denial mechanic, and has a more consistent Ultimate than D.VA's.

Where ya place?

Honestly comp is pointless besides bragging rights and a gold gun. but you can have fun in a more structured setting compaired to herostacking qp

speaking of bragging i hit diamond this season and i got enough CP finally to get my second gold gun probably chucking it on tracer.
