It helps my accuracy that most of the time I'm aiming for the tanks in my team, most of them are whopping big targets. Although it also helps that I think her unscoped shot is hit-scan.

My issue with the grenade is I underestimate the range and keep throwing it too short. I'm too used to Tracer's crappy throwing range. Grannie has a great arm

Well that would explain it, Tanks are hard to miss

Other way round - the scoped shot is hit scan, but has a tracer on the shot and obviously slows your movement. The unscoped shot has a very tiny delay, so you have to do some leading if you want to run about more freely.

I'd go on the practice range till you get used to it - that should do the trick

It's also great fun to nano boost Reaper and then have him ult. If you thought he was scary before....

That's a very popular combo, yes, and truly deadly!

Unfortunately, if that nerf to her Nanoboost goes through from the PTR to the regular game, we may be seeing Ana combos a lot less.

Yeah, her ult build rate already got crippled by 20% I think, and I think Blizzard was contemplating another 25% slower build rate for ALL heroes. Double Whammy for Ana if that's right

There's also the removal of the speed boost that Nanoboosting brings; removing that will almost certainly kill the Ana/Reindhart combo, and possibly even the Reaper combo you mentioned.

Here's to hoping that doesn't go through, and to hoping that D.VA's buffs go through - I want to play her competitively, dammit!

I'm hoping it gets ditched in favour of a simple charge nerf to make the Ultimate charge slower. That should keep Ana in the competitive scene, and popular with players.

Blizzard have a lot to sort out really with their cast, but I might just be a picky one - I won't be truly satisfied with D.VA till Roadhogs don't just hook me in and left click looking forward to one shot me; easily the most frustrating thing in Overwatch

At least on the Xbox One it's going through solid walls. Illios and the Lijiang maps I've had it nail me when it's dropped inside the capture rooms and I'm on the outside, with a wall between me and it (such as the round temple of heaven, when I run around the side to hide from it. Winston, at least, should stop it while his barrier is up. That thing has a horridly long cool down vs how short it stays up.

Ohhh, I thought you meant the projectile as Mei tosses Snowball at someone! My mistake

Yeah, the actual AoE will travel through walls - this is to stop the Ultimate from being really weak in more tight areas where it could be limited by many objects in the way of its total radius. Annoying, yes, but necessary to stop Mei's Ultimate from being too situational to be good. The actual projectile has also been made so that it can travel through Reindhart and Winston's shields before it activates, to stop those two Tanks from stopping the Ult from working.

G.A

Except there is effectively no effective counter for it. I cannot remember the last match that didn't have 2 or more Mei players, making for an almost continuous carpet of blizzards that you essentially cannot outrun if you are near its drop point. It clears a capture point something fierce, and if any of her team are around there are going to be easy kills to be had. None of which require it to be able to go through walls.

Maybe Lucio should be able to punt it away with his alt mode or something

Genji can Deflect it, and I think D.VA can swallow it with her DM. The best counter is to usually keep Mei at arms length at all times, since at range she is nowhere near as effective, and to spread out if she runs at your team - 9 times out of 10, that means she's going to throw Snowball at you, so spreading out will often nulify the Ult

From a strategy guide for Mei - "D.va's Defense Matrix can absorb Mei's Blizzard drone, rendering it useless."

I haven't done it myself, surprisingly. As D.VA, you can usually just boost away to avoid the Ultimate, rather than staying and trying to stop it.

Something about an Overwatch World Cup just seems wrong to me... its like saying Games Workshop rules are 'perfect' for competitions with no need for TO/Event house rules or modifications... or that Smash Brothers should be the game played at EVO championships not Street Fighter.

At least that's how I feel... Sure there's some strategy to it... But it doesn't seem consistent enough to warrant a competition... then again its just a Blizzcon/Blizzard event thing right? not a sponsored eSports thing?

Maybe I'm just salty because Lucio is the only character I can play in comp without getting yelled at haha... I think I'll shut up and just go back to playing Brood War now... *slinks away with old man cane*

There is some really easy moments you can do it as D.va

usually a mei will run up and ice block as she is taking damage near the end of it hold the DM up while she is coming out. 9 out of 10 times she will use bilzzard depending on ulti charges and where she is blocking into. like on point attack or defense. its harder to predict on payloads.

Launch it at their spawn after timing their respawn timer.

they never expect it. like on KotH maps.

often get 1-3 picks every shot.

That's just classic Overwatch pub matches - you'll go on massive winning streaks, and massive losing streaks. Don't let it faze you

That's the thing, even in winning matches I don't ever seem to do much when I go Offense characters. I do ok as Defense/Support and occasionally as Tank. I just never seem to accomplish much of note as DPS, and my teammates are constantly on my back

How is your aim?

the thing about DPS is you need to kill and finish the job every time. otherwise its a lot of trash damage that helps the enemy heals gain ultis faster.

keep improving your aim and you start really doing better. there is a massive difference between 40 to 50% accuracy.

It might perhaps be because you don't pick them up as often as you pick up your Supports or Tanks, especially considering the fact that you're filling in gaps in the roster rather than jumping in with something you know you're comfortable with.

I'd just keep at it - I personally am working on my Reaper plays, since I can do at least 3 Characters from each class except for Offence. Try some offline warmups before jumping into games too and see if that makes a difference - target practice and playing with Ana bots set to headshot damage only so they can't hurt you. Hope that solves your losing streak

Just keep practicing until it goes up and up

I used to mc click at like 30% but now i do significantly better and raised that statistic up to about 60-70% in some games gotta get those last blows.

otherwise pick a good dps and stick with him and learn them inside and out for like a few days.

Reaper is pretty good. you get to learn some fun spots to hide in, his ulti can be a game changer, and all you have to do is get close and jam those shot guns in where ever you please.

I think my go-to might end up being Soldier 76. He's an all-around solid character, I just need to find a balance between burst fire (for accuracy) and firing more (to get more damage down range)

Try Reaper and Tracer, Kitten - they can both act as backline harassers, and when they do attack, you don't have to be as precise with your aim as you would with Genji, 76 or McCree. Take advantage of Overwatch being a game that doesn't punish you for not being amazing at aiming
