It's usually me to blame if I end up getting killed 1 on 1 against Symmetra as D.VA - enemies that like to sit closer to my Fusion Cannons are always welcome

Love Arcade! I usually frequent 1v1 and 3v3. I just wish more people had fun with this game. I understand Blizzard is pushing the whole 'competitive/esports' thing with it, but there's fun to be had too! What really irks me are folks who can't take compliments... like after a game if I felt someone was pretty cool I'll say so... but then you get gak like 'uh I just pressed Q'... or like if during a 1v1 if I especially liked how the opponent took me down I'll type up a quick 'Nice!' in chat and then they get all 'uh why are you saying 'nice'?' I don't know... maybe its just the 'sportsball' person in me... 'Great hustle champ!' *pats butt*

Maniac- you do realize that duplicates are automatically 'sold', right? You don't get their full price, but you get, like, 20% or something of them.

Yes, it isn't the duplicates I want to sell off. It is when I have legendary a and b, and will only ever use one...

Symmetra's beam can be pretty distracting, especially when you panic and pop up your DM, only to realise it's pointless; really though, being closer with D.VA is an advantage since her Fusion Cannons are a spread type weapon - the problem against most heroes is taking too much damage to your massive crit box at close range, but since Symmetra can't target your crit box, you'll find her much easier to kill than heroes with projectile weapons.

My experience with comp is folks running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Hard to advance when everyone is doing their own thing.

Playing a support role is no fun when no one teams up or covers you when you need to fall back.

well i do enjoy casually playing competitive so it doesn't bother me much.

But i got to where i am with pretty much only D.va

as to chickens with their heads cut off. there are certainly people even up in masters that play with their ears plugged and their mouths shut.

it makes it almost impossible to win games when no one communicates :/

I'm unfortunately a Support Main in both comp and QP, so I suffer the most when the team isn't communicative

I'm usually either Symmetra or Reinhardt, so I feel I'm allowed to be snarky to them.

You know what I hate? When I play Zarya, and everybody hangs out behind me, or is doing the 'constant advance-retreat' thing. I can't bubble you if you're not in front of me! And that doesn't just halve Zarya's effectiveness, it thirds it- because not only am I not blocking for you, you're not letting me let you block for me! And then I don't get charge, which means I can't deal with flankers or D.VAs, which means they kill you! And me! I'm a Tank! Stand in front of me, dangit!

OMG both of these are stuff that irk me as well... its like there should be some routine in the games programming where 'whoever smelt it delt it'... so like if someone says 'we need a healer!', the game forces them into Ana or Mercy haha.

Zarya I started waiting like 5 seconds before leaving the start haha... that's when I played her... I barely use her anymore which is sad because I am sooo in love with her aesthetic.

Zarya can't always be on the frontline like other tanks due to how easy she is to kill with her shields down - it's why players will advance and retreat as their abilities refresh, first going to the front and popping their personal shield to soak up damage, then falling back, charging another teammate while using the charge they have to lob Particle Charges at the enemy, before their own shield cycles again.

Even so - "I can't bubble you if you're not in front of me!" is the argument of poor Zarya players. You know you can turn left and right, right?

Zarya used to be in a good combo meta with Reindhart, but now that D.VA's stormed onto the scene, she's not as valuable as she was before. Obviously you should never take the meta 100% seriously, but it's interesting to see how it changes.

Heh. Yeah. The problem comes in when everyone's doing a little push, getting forwards, making some progress (maybe getting past a chokepoint), then all the frontline fighters (soldiers, Reinhardts, Reapers) suddenly use their movement skills to zip back 30 feet behind a wall, and the enemy regains all that ground. And me, as a Zarya, can't follow as quickly.

I do have times when I wish I could bind "Form up, stop trickling in to die 1v6." to a key, but IME, when someone uses voice chat, it's going to be heavy breathing through an open mic, ragers blaming everyone but themselves, or incomprehensible mumbling.

When I'm playing Mercy, I wish I could bind "stop running around a corner while spamming "heal me" a half second before I try to fly to you!"
I swear, if I had a nickle for every time I get in range to fly to someone, and then they immediately run around a corner, I could buy a 40-pack of loot boxes.

It's true for Zenyata also. "Heal me" and then run out of sight or just as bad, get the orb and run out of sight. It only lasts 3 seconds when Zenyata can't see you.

I played a few matches of mystery hero today. Holy smokes it sucks when the other team gets 3 Rheinhardts on that. They block up a choke point and shield for each other so that even if you can break through or past one the other two jump in to defend him. Without being able to pick your counters you are pretty hosed if they stick together and block up the routes.

First day of the year, first game of the year. I did it ma! An almost flawless game with reaper. POTG and Legendary.

Sad thing is. Can't play any character with a right mouse click skill or ability, it's broken. So reaper it was.

I got a taste of Reaper when I decided to try him in the Arcade's 3v3. It was pretty dang fun!

Also props to playing with the 'handicap'!

For me, I've been trying to improve my sniper characters. My aim is far from steady but I manage so far. At first I was mostly playing more Widowmaker (someday I want to get good enough with her where I she is a decent main... right now I mostly due better with D.VA or Torbjorn). I'm starting to play Ana more as well so I have 'support' options. Not sure if I'll touch 'competitive' with either widow or ana though... but I'm sick of playing Lucio so everyone will shut the hell up and let an old man play.

He got that nerf quite a while ago I think; before then he used to be ridiculously powerful, as both Harmony and Discord could be carried by players until he decides to switch targets, no matter where they were.

Nice work! What a way to start the new year Have you tried mapping alt fire to another key until your mouse gets fixed?

Tips with Widowmaker- first, change your reticule to an easier-to-see color- I use purple, 'cause I'm a little colorblind. But being able to see exactly where you're aiming, even in a crazy scrum, helps a ton.

Second, increase your sensitivity with her (in the Options, Gameplay menu, there's a dropdown that lets you change things for all heroes, or for specific heroes- this is also where you can choose to see allied health bars, which is handy for Zarya and non-support healers like Torb or Soldier). I'd say increase aim sensitivity by, say, 20% or so, maybe less to begin. This increased aim speed is actually really helpful for her. It takes a little getting used to, but it's worth it. You can tweak it between aimed and not aimed as well.

Apperantly it was someone using hacks. Which makes your right mouse button spaz out.

On the last day of the holiday event, I finally got the Santa Torb skin!

To celebrate I played support without complaining for the rest of the day.
