[EN] Hello again,

We know you love seeing new models every week but we thought that you'd also love to see the final look of the miniatures that in a few months will arrive to your houses.

We show you the final copies of some of the miniatures that you already saw rendered a few weeks ago. We have the complete Riff assault team and some of its leaders Drax, Krull and the mercenary Val so you can check the final quality of the Fallen Frontiers figures.

We also include the version with the new face of Blaze and the final miniature of Brett.

Yup, looks great! And I can't remember what I pledged for so it will be a nice surprise...

...I sincerely hope the rules will "arrive to your houses" with a little less butchery of the English language than that.

Our sculptors are working full speed but our painting team is not lagging behind. Do you remember the painting DVD stretch goal? We show you some of the models that we have painted for the Riffs section. In the DVD you will find tricks and processes to paint the four initial factions of Fallen Frontiers. If the models are impressive imagine how they can look on the board with a good painting.

I think "really good" is a vast understatement. So glad you talked me into this one.

The miniatures look god damned amazing... But I'm on the fence if i should put money into the PM or not. On one hand, the miniatures are amazing and the base set is very cheap for what you get. On the other hand, we know nearly nothing about how the game plays, and if it's no good it's not very easy to use the minis in other games since they're 35mm... What do you guys think?

Mostly because the miniatures are all amazing, and I'm sure the game will be fun!

I'm having a tough go deciding whether to fill out the pledge manager or not. I'm one of those schmucks who only went in at a $1. Although I think the minis look fantastic; without the stretch goals for add-on pledges, putting down $130 shipped for something that will most definitely be cheaper at retail doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

But what if it doesn't make it to retail you say? Then it's yet another niche game that would have sit in the back of my closet only to be e-bayed off at some period of time in the future at a loss.

Yeah don't' ask me either, next to Forward Base, this was probably my largest KS I've ever done.

Honestly the miniatures are beautiful, since I've had some of their earlier casts sent to me. I know people criticized them for being 35mm, complaining they should have been 28-32mm instead and it wouldn't have mattered. Honestly the slight difference does make a difference not only in assembly, cleaning but also in painting.

I'm still not sold on the vehicles, which they haven't shown anything other than concept art though. However if they can ramp them to match the miniatures, I might cave. So far though I haven't opted for any of them though.

I am however almost considering going in for the fourth faction, since I only went in for three factions (Sayx, Ares, Riff). I know we haven't heard a lot on game-play but I'm not too worried. Worse case I don't like them and I use other rules systems (probably Infinity, Pulp City or Batman). Best case scenario I really like the rules and start using them.

Good point on the vehicles - I agree that they are the weakest part of their game and design by far.

I think that WWX suffers from the same problem.

I'm hoping that not using them won't be too much of a handicap in the game.

Yes and no. From stretch goals your missing out on 2 or 3 miniatures, $36-45? Honestly you can go 10 hero pack and still come out ahead, especially if you aren't getting everything. If only going for 1-3 factions the free miniatures get used for another faction not what you pledged for anyways (at least in my case. I have 4-5 extra heroes that are Harvesters because of it).

It really will depend on the distribution channels. For example Batman is at a good portion of retails, however there isn't a huge saving of buying them at retail vs buying directly from their website. Also even though they are in other locations, stock is far and in between. Even Infinity depending on where you are getting it in the US can be hard to get for some models. If we talking a loss leader like a boxed set, that may be cheaper for retail but miniatures on a case by case basis are usually about even. You end up saving slightly more, since you get it all vs breaking it up into multiple purchases with shipping for each of them.

Whoah. That guy with the two pistols looks absolutely amazing. The other are all really good, but that guy....wow.

Which one did you skip?

For me, it was the Harvesters. They just weren't doing it for me...

I skipped Ares, something about the aesthetic just didn't grab me.

I spent a long time trying to decide on which two of the remaining three factions I would get.

I was going to get Sayx & Riffs, but I liked the whole "Hellraiser in space" vibe that the Harvesters have going for them, so I decided to go for all three!

I have full confidence that Scale Games will deliver an excellent product, everything they have shown so far has looked great.

I love it - I liked Ares quite a bit, but just couldn't get into the Harvesters, and you're almost the opposite.

If you're even over in the Northeastern section of the USA, we'll have to get a game in - my Ares vs. your Harvesters!

If I'm ever back in the US I will hold you to that!

Hopefully I will have them fully painted by then too, although at the rate I paint that is highly unlikely.

Status update

[EN] Dear friends and backers:

After several months of tireless work, new additions to our staff, implementation of new models, the pledge manager, etc .. We find ourselves kind of overloaded with the amount of work we still have ahead.

Although the project is at a very advanced status in terms of sculpting, rules, production and designs, we still have some things to finish.

Our intention has always been to meet the estimated delivery time in the campaign, but certainly we are not going to have all the things done by September.

It is our duty to warn you with enough time so that there won’t be any surprises after the summer. Our intention is to deliver the game before the end of year especially if the pace of work we have today remains the same. We want to ask you for a little patience as we are working very hard so that the product meets the quality expectations.

We appreciate your understanding in advance. Thank you very much for your support.

it is still odd that we've been 'on track' up until now - and on June 22 we hear that September 30th isn't a possibility.

If this slips just a bit more, we're looking at a Q2 2016 delivery - CNY 2016 could bite the project (all cardboard, cards, rules, etc. are being done in China).

I'm thinking the rules aren't near complete, and that pouring all this resin is taking longer than expected/planned for?

It is quite vague, but it mostly seems symptomatic of "we have to rapidly expand our company while simultaneously ramping up for the biggest product launch that we've ever done". Actually the sort of thing Kickstarter success stories are all about, even if it's not exactly satisfying for the backers!

Once you become a bit more developed like CMON (Zombicide 1 was only funded a little over 3 years ago! Crazy!), you can develop a slicker pipeline - sort out production, rules etc. well in advance for each Kickstarter. At least in theory.

But I'll be looking for something a lot more concrete in terms of projected ship dates soon.

I'd say by the end of August they should have this settled, I hope.

Otherwise, CNY 2016 here we come!
