Hey guys, I've recently seen some Youtube BatReps where more than one IC was joined to a unit. Specifically, the ones I saw had Dante with a Sanguinary Priest joined to an Assault Unit and also a Librarian with a Chaplain joined to a melee Tactical Squad. Is there a limit to the amount of ICs you can have? And do special characters (such as Dante) differ from your standard HQs in terms of IC limits?

You can join an unlimited ammount of HQ. And IIRC you don't even need a unit. So, theoretically, you can make a legal list with a huge single squad full of HQ-s.
Though, i think it belongs to YMDC.

Yes, independent characters can join units that already have independent characters in them.
No, there is no limit. You could have 30 jump pack death company, Lemartes, Dante, a librarian with jump pack, and 9 sanguinary priests with jump packs in one unit in a single legal battle forged detachment. (Assuming you had a second troop choice elsewhere.)
I suggest reading about independent characters in the rule book. They are spelled out rather clearly.
Just don't try having Mephiston or Sanguinor join a unit.

You are not taking it far enough.
Its an entirely legal 1850 list to have 74 inquisitors and have them join as a squad.
