The past few releases have all been limited release and sold out in a few hours. It seems to be something deliberate from GW.

Or maybe, just maybe, GW is flat out lying to us and automatically stops preorders after a couple hours and puts a "sold out" tag on their webstore so dweebs like you and me then rant on forums, and fellow forum members then tells us not to worry because the stuff will most likely be available next Saturday on our local GW store, which in turn makes us go there, which is where we otherwise wouldnt have gone, had we preordered via the GW store.

And GW always wants you to visit their stores. Always.

You know, I just looked up the digital edition, since I would be interested in getting the updated Cities of Death rules.
IT'S FETHING $60 FOR JUST THE EBOOK VERSION!!!
you, GW!

[edit]
Ok, slightly calmer now. The price on the GW site is wrong. If you click through to the Black Library site, it's FETHING $45 FOR JUST THE EBOOK!
What the hell, GW? Do you think your electrons are gold-plated or something?!

$60 for an e-book. That is seriously messed up!

I posited a theory in the BA rumour thread as a slightly crazy conspiracy theory, but the longer it ferments, the more plausible it seems (which by no means does that make it likely, just it seems to fit better than I initially thought.)

What if GW are only selling limited quantities of stuff, because they can only afford to produce/order a certain amount, and can't cover the costs of big enough batches in one go to service demand?

I'm not saying I think this is the case, in fact I think it is more likely a symptom of a disconnect between management and the customer base meaning they just don't have a clue how much to make available.

Interesting theory. Possibly true.
Could also be their product is premium and therefore limited to this who are willing to buy in the very second it goes on sale.

whats funny is that next week, part II of the book will be released...

for another $60.

Seriously who shells out $120 for a campaign book?

$120 electronic campaign book.

In comparison that is:

10 Trade paperback novels

The BRB and 4 "codexes" for Bolt Action

2 GW codexes and, I don't know, a pizza

3 boxes of Tactical Marines

1 Rapier (the sword, not the FW heavy weapon team)

2 average single person grocery trips

For what'll probably be a dozen formations, 12-16 special missions and less narrative content than a single paperback.

And nevermind the fact that those electrons cost more based on what country you're in to an obscene degree because they think they can get away with it. As a Canadian, I've never, and will never buy a GW rulebook/supplement whatever that isn't sold in FLGS because I refuse to pay 20% more just "because," especially on electronic products.

Therefore, I conclude, Valve should announce Half Life 2: Episode 3.
