Just stumbled upon a post with a screenshot of the DV Expansion (not the original DV) profile sheet.
DW Terminators have, once again, the option to replace "any" weapons with TH/SS and Twin LC's.
Now we have the same issue as with the PFG in the Paper/FAQ and Digital Codex...
While by far not as significant as the PFG issue, this could either indicate a change in an upcoming FAQ or just another stupid oversight by GW, copying the text over from the paper codex.

Why would it not be allowed ?

Could you please paste the relevant rules here as well ?

In the paper codex, it is stated that "any model can replace all of his weapons with..." allowing the DW Sarge to replace his Power Sword and Storm Bolter with the appropriate gear.
However, the FAQ http://www.blacklibrary.com/Downloads/Product/PDF/Warhammer-40k/7th-faq/Dark_Angels_v1.0_May14.pdfchanged this to
"A model can replace his Power Fist and Storm Bolter with..." whereas the DW Sarge comes with a Power Sword and Storm Bolter stock. Therefore he cannot swap out his weapons.
The DV Exp however uses the paper codex wording again, allowing the switching of gear.

What makes you think that the DV tiny piece of paper is not affected by the FAQ ?

It is more recent than the FAQ.

It's not.

It's an old extract from the DA codex.

That is an assumption.
We're talking about the new DV Expansion set (the one with the Dark Talon), not the original DV, mind you
I've clarified that in the OP a bit more.

Do those rules say they replace the entries found in the codex?
They are the rules just for what's in the box, correct? If you want to field anything else, you're going to need the Codex?

Edit: You'll also note it's an expansion to Dark Vengeance. It's not a 40k expansion.

Of course they don't say that.
Still, it is one new level of stupid to purchase the expansion, play it, and when you buy the Codex your models are suddenly invalid...

Differences between DV Expansion datasheet and the Print Codex:

1. The DV Expansion datasheet has no page number column in the stats box.
2. The DV Expansion datasheet has a blank space in the middle of the dedicated transport option where it says "(pg 104)." in the print codex.
3. The period directly in front of the blank space mentioned in difference #2 is absent in the print codex.

So it was not just copied and pasted, but edited as well.

Why would they be invalid? Their rules are in the Codex.

If you're playing a standard game of 40k, using the Dark Angle codex, what allows you to use the rules on a leaflet instead if they don't say they update the Codex rules? Nothing.

I think you're just searching for a problem where there is none.

The DV micro-codex does not supersede the DA codex and its FAQ, and I believe the DA codex FAQ applies to the DV micro-codex as well as I don't expect it receiving a FAQ any time.

As per the FAQ, the DW Sgt cannot take those options. Don't over-think it.

(I voted for the wrong one by accident, durr)

Because the leaflet allows the weapons, whereas the codex/faq doesn't. So if you go with DV and DV Exp, you can legally build a DW Sergeant with a TH. When you buy the codex (and suddenly now about anything) your model becomes illegal.

It's no biggy (and honstely, noone I play with would give a gak if I did equip my Sarges differently), but that current rule is just... stupid.

FAQ says you can't. I personally like all my DW seargents with the power sword.

I think the initial reason for the FAQ changing from 'swap any weapons' to'swap PF and SB' so you didn't get people trying take a CML and then swap it for a TH or something equally stupid. I don't think there was ever any intent for stopping Sergeants swapping weapons, that was just an oversight. I think RAI, and what I go with, is that they can swap weapons.

I said no. Since the poll does not specify RAW or HYWPI, I'm forced to assume RAW.

In a friendly game, I'd allow it.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
