Anyways I know several of us own more then one faction and other players try to limit themselves, but tell us why you choose your faction(s) or main one.

I will start

I primarily collect the CA with a heavy focus on the MAF side (own 98% of the morat range). when I first opted to get into the MAF all we had in regards to new stuff was the 3D renders for the new starter and they were a very underplayed faction (not that case anymore) and I really like their look now. I started branching out into the great CA for access to the cool toys.

My second faction is Ariadna, I own the MRRF starter, but recently decided to start collecting on the future Kazak sectorial until we get more USARIADNA stuff as well. These make a nice opposite play style to my CA.

And you can see by my sig I own several other models from several factions

I'm always down for a chat.

Sounds like we got into MAF at the same time as I wrote my army list off the back of those same out of focus cameraphone shots of the 3D renders. I just recently purchased the models I need though so I'm just getting back on that horse.

I chose MAF for the same reason I chose my main force of all female Nomads. I am interested in extremities all of kinds. Maybe even a little obsessive about them. The MAF represented the other extreme end of the scale that my Nomads are on. Masculine, aggressive, muscular, military.

The Nomads on the other hand, my Heralds of the Knife, were chosen to explore extremities of the human condition that I hadn't before. In this case they are my first all female group and the first time I've written any fluff for and from the female perspective. They are also intended to be a cult led by a matriarchal cult leader type. Nomads as a faction were first of interest to me because of their fluff although this army goes in the opposite direction of my favourite stuff.

So to wrap up; I'm a man of extremes, I am drawn to armies that have extreme themes, fluff is a driving force for me.

I've been trying to reduce the number of "Main Factions" I am collecting...

1) Pan-O

* All lot of a lot, but not many Knights.
* Svalarheima will be my MAIN Pan-O faction once it is released. Jotums, right?

2) Nomads

* I've got a lot of...in fact...all of it.

3) Yu-Jing

* JSA all the way! And only JSA!

4) Combined Army

* Love it all! I slightly favor the Morats, but I think EI will take over as The Anathematic is one of my all time favorite CA models and is the reason I started collecting CA to begin with!

5) Haqqislam

* Recently got rid of all my QK stuff
* Waiting for Tariq's Super Soldier Sectorial

6) ALEPH

* Love it all! Have it...all!

7) Ariadna

* Merovingians!
* Will take a long hard look at USAriadna when it is released - a lot will depend on how much 'cowboy' is in it. Or, hopefully, NOT in it.

8) Tohaa - NONE.

* Do not want.

I just play PanOceania. Other factions simply don't hold any or much interest to me. Now PanOceania, I enjoy the diverse intrigue and how various corporations work together, a possibility of how technology impacted our lives and what we chose to do with it, colonization and life on various planets (Shock Army, Varuna, Svalarheima) and space exploration efforts (PanO has the largest space fleet of the human factions and was the first to re-start its space exploration programs). You don't get to see much of it on table but the setting is rather appealing and it's easy to create stories in such vast environment.

I haven't actually played the game yet, our group is getting ready to start into it. Played a bit of Icestorm, but that's it.

I've gone for Aleph. Love the look of the models, I like the fluff, and I've always liked small, elite armies.

My main is Haqqislam. The whole range, not any particular sectorial.

When I was still a exclusive 40k player, I came across a thread about Cheesecake models in gaming, and one of the examples was the newly released Al Hawwa sniper. I was blown away by how awesome it was. I needed to play whatever game it was in.

So I set about browsing the ranges. I'm not big into anime, so certain ranged simply didn't appeal to me, like Nomads. I also couldn't find much in the way of a range I liked in its entirety. I liked some models, but not all, or even most of them.

Then I decided to check out the faction the Al Hawwa was from. Seemed like a good idea. Loved the whole range, though some models seemed clunky and old. I liked the modern but still sci fi look they had, and the Hassassin were amazing. So I was sold on Haqqislam.

My secondary army is Tohaa. I wasn't a huge fan of the starter, the Kamael poses were pretty stiff and the Ectros and Sakiel poses were weird (and still are). The Clipsos was super nice though. But since the starter, every new release has blown me away. They're some of the nicest clean sci fi alien models I've ever seen.

My first faction is CA. The Drone models are what brought me into the game, so alien. Started with Shasvastii, branched out into vanilla, Morats were an afterthought after I bought them in bulk.

Second faction is Yu Jing which went the other way - bought as an afterthought along with Nomads, I thought I'd keep Nomads and fix and sell the Yu Jing, turned out the other way around. It's a good vanilla counterpart to the alien CA.

Third faction... none. Although it seems I'll eventually have playable 300pt lists for all factions, pretending it's only for demos and painting XD

I have a good sized Nomads army with Tomcats, Chimera and Geckos. I love the fluff and chaotic nature of the Nomads.

I'm starting to get into Aleph. I love the cyberpunk, Ghost in the Shell, trans human, post singularity theme to them. They're the high tech tyranny faction and the models are amazing.

At the moment, I'm only going with PanO (Neoterra or MO) and Nomads (Corregidor all the way!). However, the new CA starter is looking very shiny indeed...

My first pick was, and still is, Haqqislam.
I guess they had just the right mix and variety of models?

They are still my favourite range. I've been struggling with a colour scheme for a while and have stripped my test models three times, but I think I've settled on something now.

I really like the idea of the QK and Haqq in general protecting the trade routes and ports. I plan to theme most of my terrain around those sorts of ideas. Ports, the slums were black market goods are sold etc.

I've since added:

Pan-O (Icestorm, Neoterra starter, Auxilia box and some blisters).
Nomads (Icestorm, Riot Grrls that I have some serious conversion plans for, and a bunch of other bits and pieces in trades).
MAF (All of the new models, including two boxes of Witch Soldiers for some reason and a Raicho. This was mostly just a really good deal on Bartertown.).
Tohaa (Starter and some blisters).

All that and I've only played the first two missions in Icestorm and nothing else. Woooo!

Anti-Armour Swiss Guard

Newcastle, OZ

My first pick was my PanO. The Cutter suckered me in.
First model I bought was the Aqulia guard with HMG though.

Then I got the starter, and Swiss Guard, and then more Swiss guards and Hexa and AG. I play Neoterra. No need to worry about Akal being resculpted or croc men. Can't use them anyway.

Then HS came out, and JSA tempted me into that aspect of Yu-jing. Wasn't overly fussed on the YJ starter and Zhanshi but the JSA had ninja. ALL of them.

Then I got Aleph (NOT steel phalanx - I like the girls too much).

I got sick of being beaten by a local Haqq player with his QK so I joined that bus. That was army #4. Allowed me to get the Haqq models I liked and the nomad models I could live with.

Lastly, Icestorm came out and a local gamer went halves with me - he wanted the panO and I still wasn't overly fussed on the models in that box - so I got the nomads to add to my QK.

I like the spektr, though. And the sister-doctor-thingy. No idea what I will use Grenzer for (mate kept the rules and stuff since I don't need incomplete QSR and will get the N3 books anyway) since I don't have his proper profile. Might just get a bit of GS and join my PanO as a male hexa.

So now I have army #5 Nomads. Looking at vanilla or Corregidor I believe atm - since I loathe the furries and will never own them.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

Combat Jumping Akalis

Too close to Jersey.

My only complete(ish) army is Panoceania's Acontecimento Shock Army. I'm no fan of professed hyperpowers, technology and such, but as a cynical 'Murican I can imagine being a part of one while not feeling a part of it. The Shock Army just felt isolationist enough to suit my needs. Plus, the old sculpt Akalis rock. I used to wear an 'AA' on my shoulder....'A'irborne 'A'kals neatly evinced nostalgia in me. (Well, I'm not Sikh, but I do carry a knife...always).

Unfortunately, no one plays around here, so...darn...I had to plan another army to rope in family and friends. I thought I was settled on the Vedics...having Nagas already helped...but then Icestorm dropped. A starter set was what I needed, so I grabbed it. Now I guess vanilla Nomads it is! No real harm, that, as I originally thought they had the coolest fluff. Coolest models? Eh, not so much, but the newer sculpts are much better to my eyes. After I get the O:I models finished up, I guess some Interventors and Geckos are in my future.

The far future? Wide open. Most likely I will grab some Vedics and the post humans...if they ever get a shared sectorial, anyway. Also, since I now have the makings of a generic Pano force, I may cherry pick some models from the range- DeFersen, Auxilias, etc. Heck, I love the paint job I managed on my Nisse...so maybe I'll run with it with a Svalarheima group, too!

Ugh, this game! Taking away my beer money, one model at a time.

I find the idea of machine intelligence fascinating, so I was very drawn to Aleph. I especially like the post humans and Asuras concepts. I'm not super keen on the greek theme, and I find the Thorakitai models super ugly -- the tassel heads aren't a good look at all. I've been using statuesque fembots to proxy various line troops instead.

My other factions are just the O:I stuff. Though I have added a Jotums to PanO and some hackers to Nomads (I should probably balance them out a bit more).

I think I'd like to expand all my factions in the direction of large TAGs and bikes. My 40k collections have all been very infantry heavy with 'not enough' larger support options. I would like to keep things a little more balanced with infinity, and try to tech upwards rather than outwards.

Wanted Yu Jing to begin with due to the Akira bikes but decided against them due to cost and the type of models i'd have to get to support them.

Decided on Scottish werewolves in the end because well they don't need any further explanation!

Was a tough decision since I like all the factions but then Icestorm came out so I went with that. Guess Nomads are my main now. I do like their aesthetic and they're the ones I've expanded the most and the only ones I've painted so far.

Also just picked up some Yu Jing. ISS and the new HI sect for me. Hoping to pick up another faction as well in future. Maybe Haqqislam and a bunch of kum riders

I am in the same boat, I have faith they won't get to silly with the sterotypes as it seems the Scottish faction is the only one that goes over the top a bit, the French and Kazak seem pretty grounded overall. The newer Kazak stuff has been winning me over and I like their militarized look, can't wait to see the other 3 Specnatz sculpts.

Lets see...I now own a army for Ardiana, Aleph, Nomads, Pano, and Yu Jing...And once the new CA starters comes, that army...Holding off on Morats as badly as I want them.

My first love for Aleph. I am all for super strong elite units. And the fact they are cold heartless AI makes them cooler. I also think at that time I was watching Troy, so the fact they had Achillies pushed me over the edge to get them. (Man I cant wait for his CC value in N3, got to be close to 30)

I then got Pano knights, as I love scifi knights. Super appeling to me.

From there, I saw the scotts guard box and had to have it, and that along with other models turned into my Scotts Army.

When Icestorm came, I bought 2...(still havent done a thing with the second starter...) and it grew my Pano greatly and somehow I have like 700pts of nomads. How or why, I am not sure, but with the starter guys and buying super good deals for nomads here and Btown, they exploded rapidly to my biggest army.

I have a JSA force, All NIB. I dont know why I bought it, but been trying to get rid of it. Not that I dont like them, but Id never get to building them!

After seeing the previews of the new CA Starter, like many, fell in love with how badass it looks. I plan to order 2.

I would say 98% of all the models appeal to me, and while I try not to base buying on the guys stats, it does have a heavy influenece. Visually I see heavy armored scifi guys with big guns taking hit after hit and not being phased super cool . Matches my purchases pretty well

Are we totally sure the Caledonians aren't meant to be from the USA? After all where else would you find such a high concentration of people wearing kilts and declaring they are Scottish?

I'm simultaneously building two Infinity armies; the MRRF, because when my friends are all going super high tech, I shall defeat them with bullets and ballistic vests. I basically grabbed all the models I liked (The Merovingians seem to be about half new, sexy models, and half old, chunky models; I do so want new Moblots, Para-Commandos and more than a single Chasseur). Incidentally, I'm going to be working on this army while living in Paris, so I felt it only suitable. I also strongly dislike Aleph as an idea; dominating AI, surrendering to technology, that sort of business seems remarkably dystopian, so given Ariadna pretty much tells the rest of the HS, and Aleph in particular, to bugger off appeals to me. As the Kazak range fills out, I may do a force of them as well, the newer models are quite nice, besides, given GW has abandoned Valhallans and any semblance of flavour in 40k, I need to get an army of Space Russians somewhere.

My 2nd is Haqqislam, less so for the Haqq themselves, but I saw an opportunity with the Kaplan models. Their paintjob and style reminded me a great deal of the Civil Protection from HL2, so I figured I'd do an army of Combine, as the model range fits it quite nicely. Also, Sekbans are incredibly awesome models (though the rules look a little "whatever"), and the new HMG Janissary is to my liking.

Therefore, I conclude, Valve should announce Half Life 2: Episode 3.

I started with Hassassin, because the historical Hashashin are an interest of mine and I thought transplanting them into a science fiction setting is really, really cool. Cool enough, even, to beat out "that chick with the Akira bike," which is the model that convinced me to play Infinity...though a (Haqqislamite) Asuka will find her way into my collection in time.

Branching out into the rest of Haqqislam and QK.

MAYBE start PanO, once Icestorm gets restocked enough to be easier to get.

Orks - "Da Rust Gitz" : 3000 pts
Empire - "Nordland Expeditionary Corps" : 3000 pts
Dwarfs - "Sons of Magni" 2000 points
Cygnar - "Black Swan" 100 pts
Trollbloods - "The Brotherhood"
Haqqislam- "Al-Istathaan": 300 points
Commonwealth - Desert Rats /2nd New Zealand 1000 points

Beyond the Beltway

Oh dear, let's not get into the whole USAriadna cowboy thing, please.

Sekban, lol. Awesome Djanbazan counts as minis We'll see what N3 brings them.

I followed a friend's advice and started with the faction that had the minis which I liked to best, so Haqq (The Lasiq Sniper at the time. But also Solid Snake the Ghulam, and many others) It was very easy to move into both sectorials, so I did.

Just to have a second faction, for demo purposes and whatnot, I started ASA, because cool minis ( the cast of Lost) and it was a fairly small faction-- so easy to 'complete'. But now with Icestorm, I seem to have enough to play vanilla Pan-O too (suck it Pan-O) at 300 points. Le sigh. I'm hoping that the Icestorm/Pan-O starter box fits in nicely with the Svalarheim Sectorial ( I think it will. ORC, Nisse and the 3 fusiliers will all be a part of that one, or so I suspect.)

Two Factions, and some of their sectorials, seem enough for me. The other minis can just be proxies. Or trade bait.

Guess this guy is Army could be Marine, unit symbol makes me think Army since the unit symbols tend to mirror real life units.

Navy I could see them doing the SAS/Specnatz parallel and do Seals, but I think the Rangers may already fill that role. Just have to wait and see But I can not think of an Ariadna release in the last year I have found ugly.

Also I want to cosplay that grunt, wouldnt even be that hard, standard military gear with some Riot Armor thrown on

It's a nice concept piece, one of the reasons I like Ariadna; they're a little less cheesecake than most across the board with their aesthetics, the newer models in particular feeling quite grounded. Some of the older ones are a bit....special, female models in particular, but I'm solidly optimistic regarding their expansion and, hopefully, renewal of older models.

Therefore, I conclude, Valve should announce Half Life 2: Episode 3.
