My 2nd is Haqqislam, less so for the Haqq themselves, but I saw an opportunity with the Kaplan models. Their paintjob and style reminded me a great deal of the Civil Protection from HL2, so I figured I'd do an army of Combine, as the model range fits it quite nicely. Also, Sekbans are incredibly awesome models (though the rules look a little "whatever"), and the new HMG Janissary is to my liking.

Yes I feel the same way. I started with generic Haqqislam, but have since used Qapu Khalqi as my main faction - love the 'mercs' feel about them, and even the background of them patrolling shipping lanes and fighting off pirates that are seeking to prey on the 'Silk Road'. Have used my own colour scheme for them, some background (inc. names in Arabic!) and have even made a table of terrain to represent their 'home base' on a forest moon on my blog.. http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/240/396797.page I must get round to posting some shots of the board..

I'm hoping we'll see units tied to Europe in PanOceania. It seems CB wanted the religious knights to cover that angle, even though I believe it's one of the weakest elements in PanO. Same reason of why I don't want to see cowboys for USA. Give me something new and dazzling to spike my interest.

Come on guys. You know there's going to be a cowboy in there somewhere. Who will probably strongly resemble Malcolm Reynolds.

No cowboys, but I would like to see some non-sterotypical Native American stuff. I used to teach on the Ute Reservation and they got a lot of style that could be thrown in without going dime store wooden Indian style.

Also, check out my history blog: Minimum Wage Historian, a fun place to check out history that often falls between the couch cushions.

My main factions (like 3-400 points each, bearing in mind I've never played a game of infinity yet...) are Ariadna and Nomads. I picked Ariadna because I like the whole low tech underdogs feel, I like that they resemble the modern militaries, and being from the UK, they're the closest to me in terms of race.

Nomads I picked as like the opposite... High tech, stylish, futuristic black ops. Awesome models, anarchistic political stance, they're just awesome.

I'm probably at some point also gonna pick up Yu Jing, Haqqislam and Combined Army...

Me? I'm from Gosport, near Portsmouth, but half the week I'm at Littlehampton at my girlfriends. It's pretty crap in both places gaming wise.

Yu Jing for being the oriental faction, the heavy armour as well as ninjas (ninjaholic), bikes and the O-Yoroi looked cool too. Plus Yaokongs are the cutest remotes.

My other is Nomads, as I thought their helmets look pretty cool and I like some of the techy stuff and Zondcats.

I have my eyes on ALEPH, and since the new starter was shown, Combined Army though I'll focus on EI, Sygmaa and the drone like units, rather than go with Morat or Shasvastii type lists. Maybe Ariadna too, as I liked their logo and the low-tech stuff makes a change...

it'll quickly go Pokemonitis if I keep going...

Ah, yeah they're both a bit barren for gaming. :(

Nomads for me with same reason, Im big fan of Major Makoto and when I heard from my frend that Nomads are nasty and have lots of hackers I was in love, then I learned about them being split in 3 styles with Corregidor mercs, Bakunin anarkists and Tunguska spies. I dont look back.

Every Nomad kid want to be a Tomcat when they grow up.

The Space!Americans are going to be special forces dudes and 'doomsday prepper' style american militia nutjobs. Which is fine! It's a very 2010s stereotype of Americans, rather than cowboys.

The USAGrunts are pretty amazing for example as their basic trooper. Heavy armor, tacticool modern helmets, and basically armed with blunderbusses.

My main faction has been Ariadna because of the Tankhunter and the SAS(boarding shotgun). As soon as I saw them at my LGS I had to have them. Still is my main faction.

I've wound up having a bit of everything. I own something from each faction except Tohaa (so far). I started out with Yu Jing. Their heavy infantry was what made me eventually cave in and buy the figures. My intent upon starting was to get Yu Jing and build a second force using Ariadna. However, it turns out that the Nomads and Haqqislam have really gained the most of my attention. I've been focusing primarily on vanilla Haqq and Corregidor for the Nomads. I've got a thing for the mercs, it seems. Once White Star becomes a playable faction, I'll probably support them heavily as well.

Even though I've been playing since the launch of 1st edition, I'm still mostly a one army guy. I ended up picking up Nomads after a while, but they rarely see play and I haven't grabbed much for them after my initial buy-in (which is probably part of the reason I don't play them much, I crave variety and rarely use the exact same list twice).

I went with Yu Jing on the back of the original Invincible art (the one where it is hopping on top of a car) and because I'm always a big fan of future-China (I loved the Middle Kingdom in Diamond Age for offering a really different perspective on a high-tech society). From there, I mostly just bought everything for them (though I have fallen behind on that, and still don't have interest in any of their available TAGs). I tend to prefer their more aggressive playstyle with lots of infiltrating, air-dropping, and high-speed attack stuff. I always end up missing that unique mix if I ever try another faction out. There isn't a thing in the game that can replace my holy trinity of Daofei-Guilang-Tiger Soldier.

And with the new sectorials for Yu Jing on the horizon pulling the focus back to the China-centric aspects of the faction I'll be pumping a lot of money in to Infinity once Acheron Falls hits.

I bought Operation Icestorm without a second thought (but still haven't played a game yet) thinking that PanO would be my main force. Then I saw the Morats and had to buy the starter (and my lovely wife bought me the Raicho for my birthday).

My main problem is stopping myself buying the Kum bikers. Is there anyway of playing an all biker force using those guys?

Still yet to play a proper game while I wait for the new rulebook to arrive.

The Bikers are AVA Total in the Vanilla Haqq force, so you "could" play an entire army of them. How well it works, I can not say.

And I know how you fell about the Morats, I have 95% of the Model range, but get distracted pretty easily by other armies lol, working on a Kazak Ariadna force right now wanted to wait on USAriadna, but from the sounds of things the US market may be saturated with USAriadan players upon their release.

I'm curious to find out abut this. Is this something of an American forte? Generally a faction would have to have a theme that interests me and although I might find it interesting, if it would have something based on my nationality, however, if it's not what specifically attracts me I'd still leave it out (Tunguska and few other projects that basically aren't worth recalling as a rough example). It's something I've noticed, for instance when it was shown that EU not US will be a playable side in now retired Generals 2 project, I think you could put milestone on how long that resentment was.

Curious about this, Mayacast also predicted the same, while I'm just puzzled why would so many people pick the same faction.

Not sure really, I guess we can relate. I know for me at least, as a veteran I kind of like the idea of an army I can personally relate to. On the flip side though, no matter how cool an army is, I tend to be put off by it if it's over-saturated in my meta.

I think if it turns out load of Americans want to play US Ariadna it'll be a matter of culture. The US culture is vastly more patriotic than those you find in most 1st world nations so people submerged in that culture will be much more likely to play a faction that represents them.

I'm thinking of mutliple Kum Bikers with Izzat Beg and Yojimbo (If he's allowed in there, he looks to be legal on the army builder) for a weird Sons of Anarchy styled motorbike gang. Not really interested in how it plays

Any other bikers out there who could fit?

Well Yojimbo is legal in non ITS, and not sure if he is legal at all in N3.

But you could grab this bootleg model as another Generic Kum

She was sold at GENCON, but should come up for normal sale on CBs store at the end of the year, some retailers may carry her.

Or it's because the concept art we've seen so far is absolutely pimp, and the Grunts alone are going to make the Sectorial amazing?

She was listed as a December(January) release.

There's also the Twins to come.

Quoted for win ARM 3 Line Troopers will be awesome. I mean yeah they are Mi and have MOV 4-2, but they are cheerleaders, how much running do they really need to do.
