Anyone else think the armour choice for WoC is a bit odd? it looks like they are based off early/mid medieval knights, whereas everything points them to being massive Viking/Germanic/Mongol nut jobs.

Have any of you guys made your WoC more like this?, id love to see as I'm thinking of changing mine up a bit.

Please come and look at my new 40k project blog!, following/subscribing helps a lot, along with advice and thoughts!

Nope, Chaos Warriors are Chaos Warriors, they may have been inspired by Vikings/Germanic/Mongol barbarian hordes but that doesn't mean they are LITERALLY Vikins/Germanic/Mongol barbarian hordes.

Not really.

Sure, the tribes they recruit from might be based on the classical barbarian. But they're not your average barbarian. They're chosen warriors of the dark gods, clad in impenetrable plate armor that's part of their bodies.

Cato Sicarius, after force feeding Captain Ventris a copy of the Codex Astartes for having the audacity to play Deathwatch, chokes to death on his own D-baggery after finding Calgar assembling his new Eldar army.

Not always part of their bodies. I see no reason why you can't have a band of warriors who are nothing but living suits of hollow armour.

Of course. But the fluff blurb for the Chaos Warriors does say they become trapped in their armor as a general rule of thumb. Its a sign of their devotion, they have left mortal trappings behind.
