Yeah, I'm not really sure how the End Times will effect gameplay. Besides drastically.
And Light certainly got a big ol' boost.

@thedarkavenger: without derailing this thread too much more, the concept I don't understand is how you're applying certain rules and not others. I don't get the selection process, if that makes sense.

I'm not sold that Tyrion and his Light Council want to run with the Warlocks, though. Warlocks are amazing because they're mobile, can whittle the opponent down, and are durable.
But losing the Fast Cavalry rule nullifies their mobility, and 5 Banishments makes their whittling abilities redundant. So...all you're really getting is their durability. Are there any other options that would be more durable, or as durable, but cheaper, or bring something else to the table (like more potent close combat or BS-based shooting)?

Has anyone asked how you can use the Banner of the World Dragon (exclusive to High Elves) in a non High Elf Army?

Khaine is a culmination of using units from the 3 elf books and all associated rules from said books with exceptions stated in Khaine under certain host army list (E.G. those units with Murderous Porwess also gain Martial Prowess).

These lists do not mention ASF, therefore it is still applicable as per the respective codex.

End of story.

THe same thing applies to the elves. They're not the elves as used in the books, and ASF isn't mentioned.

not got my khaine book to hand but thats is clearly not how its meant to work.

You are fielding an Elven Host army. And the Banner of the World Dragon is specifically only available to a High Elf Army.

A reasonable point put forward in that way. My guess is an oversight, seeing as all elf characters in Khaine have ASF. wouldn't make sense for them to have it and not their kinsman. GW definately need to clarify that one.

That is my "because I said so" version of the rules. Use for as far as it will get you in a game situation but remember rule # 1: Have fun.

Just going to chime in with the statement that the book tells you that you use units, points costs and items as written in the elf books. That's actually more concrete than your "this is a new army" statement.

list looks kinda.. meh.. Have you played it? or is this just another proposal of a list, that has turned into a criticism battle between you and darkravager again.?

Id like to hear how the list performs. Not a finger waiving battle arguing the metaphysical subtleties in the wording of list and item acquisition.

The initial list was written before Khaine came out based on the rumours for rules and WD. So the light council isn't the way to go IMO now so the list will be a complete rewrite. Though I've just ordered Tyrion and 10 Dragon Princes (not sure whether I prefer them or the Cold ones I already have).

Ummm... No. it was my understanding MR applied to spells, specifically amgic missiles, not any form of magical attack.

Yea so against a magic weapon tyrion has only a 4+ still good but not a 2++.

Yes MR only applies to spells, though not just Magic Missiles. However Banner of the World Dragon works differently.
