Nice!! Those greens look good.

How far are you going with the weathering? All out, like mud, rust, dust, chipping, warping etc. Or only a moderate amount of weathing, like some chipping and maybe some mud around the tracks.

Dont get stuck in the cycle of painting something, stripping it because you didn't like it and repainting it. That way you'll amass a horde of plastic and only ever finish a handful of minis before starting over.
Painting well isn't so much an achievement as it is a process.
And to be honest, I dont see much difference between your first termie and second. The highlights are cleaner on the second, but they could have been fixed easily without stripping.

I was trying to do a just a bit of chipping and a little rust. Some muddy tracks and some soot by the exhaust. Enough to keep the green bright, however I went a bit overboard lol. But I think it's fixable.

Yeah, I told myself the same thing about stripping. The original green was too light (like goblin green) where I was going for more vibrant. I suppose its a bit tough to tell from the pictures but you could tell in person. It had to do with the paints I used to mix the color. I'm happy with it now and won't be wavering from it.

Looking good. The weathering is fine to be (although I am always partial to heavy weathering), the greens are still nice and you've got quite the haul to be getting on with.

I agree with Paradigm. The SoM green is already quite eye catching, but with the bright orange/brown rust it makes it truely attention grabbing.

I'm not certain whether the weathering is overdone, or if it is just not in more suitable places. Weathering should primarily be where the most wear and tear on a vehicle takes place, In a lot of cases that would be near the tracks, hatches, etc.

The rust is a little heavy and random. From a fluff perspective, I'd probably go with more battlefield wear than disrepair for SoM.

The colour is good, nice complement to the green, might be better suited to being washed in to the crevasses than splotched all over.

Yeah, that kind of disrepair doesn't really fit with the SM aesthetic. It should look well cared for (these machines can be hundreds and even thousands of years old), with any weathering being environmental or battle damage related, rather than rust, which would suggest neglect.

Marneus Calgar is referred to as "one of the Imperium's greatest tacticians" and he treats the Codex like it's the War Bible. If the Codex is garbage, then how bad is everyone else?

This was my thought as well. Yeah the colors look good together but the rust doesn't really go hand in hand with SM. I decided to clean it up last night. Fortunately the rust effect came off real easily with a damp q-tip. Painted over it, drybrushed and washed. Just need to redo the highlights and it will be fine. Did a bit of chipping along the bottom and a few choice spots. WAY happier with it.

Holidays are over and I swear I've been working on things!

Terminators are getting finished, I wanted to finish them up yesterday but life got in the way

Started working on the drop pod and this thing is a pain in the ass to paint. Where the doors meet the floor, the paint keeps getting scraped off from the movement. I haven't figured out how to fix this. Then my cat knocked over my water cup which was full of green paint slug, only got on one of the "wings" or whatever but of course it was on the white section.

Heres a selection of some other random stuff I've got primed and based.

I'm thinking that I want to exchange the black trim for gold on these guys. I think I will like it a lot more.I know its not really Sons of Medusa scheme, but I suppose at this point I could just change chapters. Probably have to make my own if it really makes any difference

To come back to the weathering. When they would be in a campaign of some sorts rust would come on the Tanks. I do like the weathering at the front cause they would get some gunfire on there and would be hit occasionaly and where the paint would go of rust would form. It's a vibrant orange so it's new rust and not old rust which would be dark red/brown. So for a fluff perspective it is ok in my opinion. The greens look good so keep up the good work.
