So I have a rather large Tau army and a medium sized Necron army. Both of which need to be painted.

"Ahhh what the hell! Let's start up a Space Marine army too" my ADD riddled brain said to me.

"I want a green army! Salamanders? Death Knights? Invaders? Nope, I like white helmets and mythology! Sons of Medusa it is!"

And thus it begins...

with this Dreadnought!

And I just base coated some Terminators as well

I have a few other things that I haven't put together yet. But this should keep me busy for a while

I need to either find some SoM transfers or practice painting their "logo" if you will.

Thanks guys! I magnetized the arms on the dreadnought and have only finished the power fist so far. The dreadnought should be finished by this weekend, but for a little change of pace I'm gonna work on the terminators for the next couple days, I'll keep updating my progress

I also have a few other items waiting their turns

Have you ever started painting something and whilst painting it said to yourself "this looks dumb" but just kept doing because it *might* turn out okay? Of course it doesn't, so you try to fix it only to make things sooooo much worse.

Looks like this Terminator has a date with with an old toothbrush and nail polish remover.

What can I say? I'm only human

Okay so Terminator #2 is looking a lot better.

Primer: Val White Primer
Based: Val Sick Green
Washed: Thinned GW Biel-Tan Green
Foreground parts: 50/50 Sick Green/Escorpena Green (I realized that I written the formula down wrong in my painting journal. On the Dreadnought I had used 3:1 warpstone glow/moot green. the 50/50 came out a bit lighter obviously but I think it still looks good.)
1st edge highlight: P3 Necrotite Green

There are things I like about P3 paints and things I don't like about P3 but in this case I think it was the right choice.

Love the color. How did you put that little stick on his foot? I always wonder how people do that.

Nonsense. The Battle Company box is perfect for filling out your ranks of aspect warriors with a large contingent from the Screaming Baldies shrine.

Pretty simple actually. Drill a small hole in the foot with a pin vise (maybe 1/32 of an inch deep depending on the model) I have a bunch of brass pinning rod, just snip off a short piece, stick it in the drilled hole and glue it on. Sometimes I can wiggle the rod out when its ready to get glued to the base or just snip the rod flush with the foot.

I'm curious to see how you're going to apply the Sons of Medusa's colour scheme to those Centurions, because with that green colour and their rather bulky size, one might get to mistake them for the Hulk

Looking great. I've always liked the color scheme of the Sons of Medusa. That green hue works well and looks very pleasant.

I feel the dreadnought might benefit from at least something being painted white so as to tie it in with the (soon to arrive) white helmeted marines.
Also, the barrels of the assault cannon needs to be drilled.

That is a good point

thankfully their shoulder armor has "banding" around it I could paint black and they do rock the white helmets.

That green tone is great!
A little garish at the minute, but once you fill in the rest of the details, it'll look fantastic!

Looking forward to seeing more

Wow! I really appreciate all the feedback and suggestions!
I've always been a bit timid about putting my stuff online as I was a bit unsure of how my work would be received. I guess what they say is true "you are your own worst critic ".
Not that I'm getting a big head but it feels good to have such positive reactions.
Thanks all!

I haven't had a ton of time this week to work on my stuff but this weekend is free and I have a large chunk of time set aside for painting.

Well I was planning on finishing up my dreadnought and terminators last weekend but this hunter/stalker tank was just too tempting not to put together. Then, somehow, it started getting painted lol I made a lil boo boo on the front that should be easy enough to fix.

Most of the black will be painted metallic with the exception of the two armor panel on the front which will be left black to help match the color scheme

I've been debating on weathering the models. Do I make them sleek and shiny or war torn and beat up? I really can't decide.

I vote weathered, it should look very striking with the bright, sharp greens.

Despite the need for weathering, I am LOVING the crispness of the whole setup. Very nice, even painting across all the surfaces...makes me jealous for those skills.

Hey all! Sorry for the absence lately. I got the flu, then I was out of town, then Xmas stuff. But I haven't disappeared!

I started weathering my tank and let's just say I need some practice. I've had very little weathering practice outside of Flames of War and WW2 models, which uses plenty of rust, dust, mud and crud. Anyways I'm gonna fix that up a bit.

I wasn't happy with the way the Terminators turned out the first time. The greens were just too off from the Dreadnought so I soaked, scrubbed and started from scratch. But I have been working on them so here's what I've gotten so far. I plan on doing some free hand on the shoulder pad and shin armor.

Sorry for the not so awesome pictures but they get the point across.

Also Santa was good to me this year
