Hi folks, I'm curious if you would accept the following as a house rule in your gaming clubs to make knarloc riders a little more playable.

Rule: A unit of knarloc riders can take up to three kroot hounds per rider at 5 points per hound.

The idea here is to not rewrite the rules so much as to adapt them to the fluff. I think the addition of between six and nine hounds could really add the needed number of attacks that would make this unit a lot more viable. At I5 the hounds could strike first in many combats and then soak up some incoming wounds that would allow the riders a chance to attack. The hounds and the riders are a symbiotic fit in terms of their movement rules and it's not a stretch to think of the two hunting/fighting together in a pack. If kroot can take hounds on foot, why not when mounted? Granted this is not an overhaul to make them a star unit, simply one that would perhaps lend more people to fielding them. I, for one, am all for a diversity of units on the table. Who knows? If GW were to adopt a rule like this down the road, maybe it would help move some of those hound models off the shelves. As it stands now, who actually fields more than one hound per kroot unit for the Acute Senses?

Anyway, how do feel about this? Would you play against a unit like this?

That sounds pretty good, I love Kroot. If only GW gave them some love.

Not true. Wolf Lords on Thunderwolves can still take Fenrisian Wolves.

I'm still waiting for some form of coordinated assault letting me bring on Eldar/DE Deep Strikers without rolling. Would make a lot more sense than the Imperium being better at coordinating their troops than the Eldar.

It's just that the Imperium sends in so many guyz that someone's supposed to hit in time.

Great, so in other words, you guys would all be cool with facing down a unit of three knarloc riders accompanied by six to nine kroot hounds. Seems fair enough, right?
