No. I have a long enough shopping list as it is, with some Malifaux, Deadzone, Infinity and Hobbit stuff on as well as 40k, and don't really need what comes in Deathstorm for my BA despite the savings. If much rather put the 40k part of the budget towards a couple of those shiny new Tactical Squad kits.

I play both Tyranids and Blood Angels, and I had no termi, no genestealer, no Death Company and no Dreadnought ! Plus the cool mini-rulebook.

I am buying one and splitting it with another guy at the hobby store. I am keeping the Blood Angels, he is taking the Nids. I may pick up another box at some point.

One copy for the Tyranids. I'll keep the Blood Angels in case I ever want to play them or I run into a old friend who played them and I can pass them off to him.

I still don't have a paper Rulebook and the Nids will fill out my list to a comfortable 1850 without proxies. The Blood Angels will join my Space Hulk and I'll fill out an Elite list with all the Blood Angels, making a fun Infantry-Heavy list. A win-win.

Part of me wants to see if the guy I am splitting Box #1 with would want to split a second box so I can have twice the BA and he can have twice the Nids. I would probably sell off the second squad of Terminators and the second Terminator Captain and buy some more stuff. That way I can build a Furioso and an Death Company Dread. Though a Librarian Furioso would be nice too.

Interesting, the number of gamers buying it and not buying it are on par.
I will not buy it. I have already a BA army (company with jump packers only).
Normal Termies suck and I have already 20 DC Marines with jp's.

Deathstorm is a good set. I'm not surprised that nearly half the folks answering are buying. It really feels like Space Hulk Part 2, or 3 depending how you look at it. For fluff reasons and casual gamers it offers a lot. Not so much for competitive, but still.

I play both Blood Angels and Tyranids, so this set was a good enough value for me to grab it. really wanted the Broodlord and the BA cover rule book and Captain. Can always use more dreads/carifex ( my group plays very large games) I bought bits to make the Terminators Assault termies , so no big deal there. Didn't really need the genestealers but oh well more to the collection and the box sets so cheap that it doesnt matter.
Since I bought a few of them I'm selling the extra characters and rulebooks and Campaign Books. so all n all they're even cheaper and plus someone gets parts they might want without having to get the whole set. Win, Win and Win in my book!!!! Im glad to see these starter boxes from GW (even if in limited runs) and hope they continue, I think they are a big win for everyone.

I hadn't really thought to buy the bits to turn these guys into Assault Terminators. I might have enough Lightning Claws left from my other Assault Terminator box for them, would just have to get some Storm Shields and Thunder Hammers. I have some THs and SS from my Wolf Guard Terminators, but they are covered in wolf bits and would be a pain to convert. Sucks that there aren't some BA specific TH/ SS. That seems like something Forgeworld could get on. If I scrap off the SW stuff I could Green Stuff some Blood Angels stuff on them, I guess.

Funny enough I almost got the SW bits since they are pretty cheap online, and I was going to do exactly that, grind it all off and bit bash/green stuff it.

I might just get some plastic sheets and make more of a heater type shield that the Deathwing Knights have rather than the square shields. To me that fits BA a little better. I would still strip the SW stuff off the Thunder Hammers though.

Imho it's also missing the following option:
"I won't buy it, but I'm going to pick up a few select items from it, when they start flooding the secondary market with them".
Pretty much they way I've been doing it with the past few boxes. Didn't care too much for most of the content, but 6 new Deffkoptas for 20€, a Scriptor for 5€ or 3 Bikes for 10,50€? Sure.

Would be cheapter to buy a box, keep the stuff you want and sell the rest.
I have pre-ordered one box. I'm currently not playing BA or Nids, but like both armies and the box is a nice start for future purchases. I already have the BRB, so I'm unsure if I want to sell the rulebook or keep it due to weight and size.

There is actually Gideon, from the space hulk set Easily based into a 40mm, and although he's snapfit, they did an awesome job with him. One of the reasons that I bought multiple space hulks was so that I could build scenarios with TH/ SS and lighting claw blood angel squads.

Yeah, if you're willing to split it up and sell the contents (or have someone to share some units with), you only really need to keep a couple of items in the box to break even. The mini rulebook is salable, giftable, or usable if you don't already have one. Add the dreadnaught and carnifex, and you're nearly there (they should be easy to sell, if you don't want them), and that leaves a ton of other models. Even if they aren't really that great, you never know -- the BA codex may make some of the models more competitive. And just think of all the space marine bits you'll have Plus, even if you don't want to play him, the first captain is a nice model and he's useful as a proxy for an IC.
If you are into getting rid of iconography, blood angel markings are generally less obvious and also easier to get rid of than space wolves stuff.. which I consider not even close to worth the effort for the vast majority of parts.
By the way, if you only have the BRB, and neither of the minis (hard/softcover), the mini paperback rulebook is actually the best one to take along as a reference. The paper is thinner than BRB, but it's full color, has identical pages as the BRB, and the print quality (and paper quality is extremely high -- *much* better than I expected from a freebie. My BRB 3-volume set never leaves the shelf anymore.

Yeah, I have seen that, but it really doesn't help me in making the Deathstorm Terminators not sucky. If the rumors are true and they end up making Death Company Terminators, I will be painting mine black and sending the little blood-crazed maniacs to their doom. I just wish GW had went a little further by making them more Blood Angels-y by adding a few extra bits like BA terminator shoulders. Even if I don't convert them to Assault Terminators, they will still be getting a bunch of bits added to them from the new BA Tactical Squad.
