Little bored with studying, so I thought I would do another awesome Chapter breakdown, this time for the GKs.

GW was kind enough to give us a complete and total breakdown of the chapter on page 15.

How many GKs are there at full strength? How much would it cost to purchase? How many points would the entire chapter be? What would you need to buy?


1) How many GKs are there?

There are 8 Grandmasters, and 1 Supreme Grand Master. 8 Brother Captains, 8 Brotherhood Champions, 57 Librarians(including Sanctum Guardians), 12 Apothecaries, 23 Techmarines, 99 Paladins, 45 Purifiers, 12 Venerable Dreadnoughts, 19 Dreadnoughts, 18 Dreadknight operators, 390 Terminators, 390 Interceptors, 370 Purgators, 430 Strike marines.

This comes out to a grand total of 1890 Grey Knights.


2) How much would it cost/what would you need to purchase.

101 boxes of Terminators= $5050

57 Librarians(use two leftovers from the above purchase)=$1223.75

Draigo, Crowe, Stern, 15 Brother Captain/Grandmasters, and 8 Brotherhood Champions=$412.50

23 Techmarines=$276

45 Purifiers=$297

18 Dreadknights=$967.50

31 Dreadnoughts=$1433.75

390 Interceptors=$2574

370 Purgators=$2220

430 Strike Marines=$2580

20 Landraiders=$1485

21 Stormravens=$1732.50

24 Rhinos=$894


Total = $21,116


3)

Total of 74,905 pts, without upgrades.

You would need to run 41 Detachments to legally run the chapter. Each detachment would only be able to have 2 troops choices. Only about half would have vehicles, paladins, purifiers, or dreadknights.

The entire chapter would generate a total of 385 Warp Charges(more if they combat squad) and know a cumulative total of 1270 psychic powers.

All I see in this is how maximally gouged all this stuff is.

If I have ~18k to drop on this many models, I'm definitely also forking over another ~18k to get them painted.

With enough lead belcher, black primer, dry brushes and nuln oil anything is possible!

I see you remembered only the land-based half of the Grey Knights, but you forgot the space-based. Don't forget the Thunderhawks, along with the Battlefleet Gothic fleets, as well.

... Battlefleet Gothic is not a GK unit, it's not even in the right sector of space.

Ah thank you Ratius, so I'm not too far off on price then, the conversion from euros to Canadian maple paper is roughly 2/1. Like 1.8 at the time I think actually? Anyways that'd put it at least near the 20,000$ mark here in Canadia.

I was using "Battlefleet Gothic" as the name of the game the ships were available for, not in reference to a part of space.

Ok so I was off by like... 8 grand lol. so maybe it was 12,000$ I was thinking then. I never was good with numbers, not like the OP is anyways haha. Thanks for researching that Talys, I see it did indeed come with a bunch of extra stuff too. And I'd imagine it'd come delivered straight to your door via the GW CEO's private Stormraven he uses to get to shareholder meetings. It should at that price...
