I remember reading something about one deamon primarch actually not being the primarch himself? But it is actually a copy and the real primarch is on a daemon world sulking and distraught over his betrayal.

You might be thinking of Fulgrim; he was possessed for a while by a Daemon and was forced to watch as his body was controlled and did bad things. He eventually took back over, but by then was turned fully to Slanesh himself.

Fulgrim is currently almost as mysterious as Alpharius.

Alpharius is a puzzle wrapped in an enigma stuck inside a rubiks cube then put into a labyrinth....Fulgrim is just a snake

No one knows where the alpha legion primarchs even came from, just a rough spot.

No 100% fact even knows which one was killed.

And that's just the small mystery. Even if they truely serve impirium or chaos is not quite solid. Every thing about them is often in questions

FudgeDumper - It could be that you are just so uncomfortable with the idea of your chapters primarch having his way with a docile tyranid spore cyst, that you must deny they have any feelings at all.

They came from the same lab as the other primarchs did. In one of the heresy books a primarch (forget which) has a vision of the lab and there are 2 figures in one of the tubes.

Re: your second point. Nobody knows if even one of them were killed. One does not simply kill Alpharius.

It is in the the First Heretic. They go back to the lab where the primarchs were created and the narrator describes a description of each capsule. When he comes to the 20th capsule (alpha), he notices there are more limbs than for any one man.

I ment which planet, they never said where they came from even when found. They came to Horus, not the otherway round. Ie when rediscovered
