So at my local
gw it is hard to get even a game of hobbit in let alone a series of games for a campaign. I have the support of the shop manager to try to help promote the game and a campaign of sorts(narritive games are what we strive for in the shop, except for those
40k players). Im thinking of a way to get people to play(low model count required), narritive games(campaign), and the struggle to get 2 players in at the same time. So i have solutions for some of this but the last one is the real struggle.
Battle companies is the solution for low model count but for new players removes might will and fate. So instead I was thinking 1 hero up to 70 points and 80-100 points of warriors( warband restriction removed)
Narritive games, this is super easy once the rest of the kinks are worked out i can write something up in 10 min. I already have an idea about a battle for bree.
Getting players in to play....SO how do we play a 2 player game with sometimes 1 person??????? Seems kind of impossible but I am holding hope that we as a group can come up with something and bring this to our LFGS collectively(if youre so inclined). I was thinking of some kind of adventure campaign. Ill share my bree campaign idea below.
Battle for bree.
This is a map based campaign where evil makes a play to destroy bree and disrupt trade in the north. Since it is a huge center for trade it is expected that any and all armies of middle earth would be represented in the area so it fits the fluff. Evil starts around the edge of the map, good in the center. Evil wins will result in the loss of good territory and vice versa. Different scenerios will be played along the way in an algorithim format, if evil wins then game a if good wins the game b, ect. The specific details are easy to fill in. Below is a map i googled that would work fine for this. I think with 4-6 players this could work just fine but having 10+ would be awesome yet unrealistic. The other nice this is that it can be ongoing and require no commitment on a regular basis. Just come in, get a game, and affect the map. It can either go on forever going back and forth or go on for a peroid of time and try to schedule some kind of big game to end it. It is simple and basic but puts some kind of meaning behind the results of the game.
