Hello everybody. I finally got that gaming computer I've been wanting for a while. I was trying to go for the upper quality on evreything that wasn't twice as expensive as its next closest competitor or else was a new experimental tech that wouldn't actually be used for another year (so a 7/10 on the performance scale I guess). Not going to lie getting everything wired together was really intimidating for a tech rookie like me, but I got it started on my first try and didn't break any hardware, so I guess everything worked out fine. Going really slow and reading the manuals accomplishes wonders. Everything is working great except for a couple annoying quirks, one of which involves plugging my mouse into the usb hub on my G19 keyboard (my computer automatically turns itself back on after it shuts down as long as the mouse or the keyboard is plugged in. I just look at it as a "remote start" so I can boot up from across the room by plugging my mouse in). The other is a non-windows signed Catalyst driver I can't do anything about except grin and bear.

Can't resist the whole "pic/spec" thing. I put them in the spoiler tags below for anybody interested. Sorry for the horrible phone picture. I went for something really non-traditional with this one. You will see if you care. My plan is to eventually do full-submersion cooling (an aquarium full of non-conductive cooling solution with the computer dunked in it and a bloody huge radiator on the side), but that will require a lot of DIY since the kit I was looking at went out of production (it's been on the market for 8+ years and goes out of production the month I actually get my computer...how's that eh?). In honor of that I am naming this build "blood in the water".

Spoiler:

So, got that out of the way. Anybody have any good games to suggest for someone who hasn't been able to play a new PC game since the early-mid 2000s in anything other than absolute lowest quality settings around 10-15 fps? Any multiplayer games out there with some kindly Dakka members who may appreciate a new hire who has no idea what they're doing?

You know...now you mention it I'm 90% sure they aren't. I did not think of that. Thank you for bringing it up. It is now relocated to a less impressive looking but more safe location.

For what it's worth, I'm pretty sure worries about that kind of stuff are overblown, but I personally don't like to take chances. melon-fething magnets, how DO they work?
