It was seriously sloppy for GW to not give me Vect in the new codex, and I'm sure hundreds like me felt cheated out of a beautifully converted Archon model put to waste simply because GW didn't have a model for the guy. As the Dark Eldar are lacking any LOW choice all together, and the new trend of the Big Bad's becoming LOW choices, i though Vect deserved the same treatment.

Ws 8 Bs 8 S 3 T 3 I 8 W 3 A 5 Ld 10 Sv 4+/6++/2++ Infantry (Character) 250pts

Warlord Trait: Labyrinthine Cunning & Towering Arrogance.

Special Rules: Power from Pain, Night Vision, Fleet, Independent Character, Preferred Enemy (Everyone!), Hatred (Eldar & Dark Eldar), The Geldling*.

Wargear: Ghostplate Armour. Shadowfield. Splinter Pistol. Plasma Grenades.

Artifacts of Cruelty:
Scepter of the Dark City - Vects Item of office. It incorporates powerful Agoniser Technology far more sophisticated then then common drabble.

Range - Str User Ap 3. Poison (3+), Haywire.

The Obsidian Orbs - Ancient and powerful pieces of soul-tech that rip the animus from the effected and feeds it to Vect himself.

Range 8'' Str 10 Ap 2. *Wounds against Ldship instead of Toughness. For each wound caused Vect regains a single wound lost earlier in the battle.

*The Geldling. Many credit the Overtyrant with the ability to be in two places at once, In many ways they are right. Only known to the select few is that Vect uses specially cloned dopplegangers during his appearances and raids, often hiding in the Shadows himself to strike back at any would-be assassin who would tackle who they thought was he.

Only use once. After Vect loses his last wound and is removed from the table, you may replace a single engaged Kabalite Warrior, Trueborn or Scourge on the table with Vect, with a single wound remaining and his Shadowfield refreshed. The opponent still gets a point for Slay the Warlord because other Dark Eldar did see 'Vect' die. If there is no illegible model for Vect to replace, assume he has fled the battle field and he is removed from play as normal.

The Geldling is a trade off for Eternal Warrior, which i don't think Vect deserves. He doesn't survive the hit, he is elsewhere when it falls. Other then that he is quite similar to before, with 4+ to seize replaced with his Warlord traits.

What do you think??

Eh no on the geldling.
its the same thing as eternal warrior but better. (why not a shadowfield that can come back on some sort of a not bull roll)

On what bases is that obsidian orb and pistol from?

Was it in the older book?

Edit: Actually the orbg was ap 3 not 2. why change it
his scepter was a poison 3 weapon why give it haywire.

Pretty good, but I think The Gelding should be made one-use only.

I just want to see the Dais back with the Chariot rules.

Actually it's a lot worse then Eternal Warrior, especially considering he gave up a wound on his Old profile to get it. Since it's only one use, it basically adds a single extra wound to him that circumvents Instant Death. Ghazzy, T 5 W 4 Eternal Warrior. Dante, T 4 W 3 Eternal Warrior. Logan, T 4 W 4 Eternal Warrior. They all have invulnerable saves (Ghazzy doesn't get his all the time) and all these characters also have a 2+ Sv, it makes no sense for Vect to cost the same amount with not a fraction of the defense.

The reason a regenerating Shadowfield wouldn't work is because, for me at least, 5/6 Vect only gets a single failed save and he is dead. Maybe it's my tendency to make every single <6 shot save and fail the first >6 that comes my way, but being an expensive combat beat stick without Eternal Warrior and T 3 really, really sucks. For those of you who play Fantasy, it works almost exactly like the Carstein Ring where Vlad comes back to life after he is killed, except in Fantasy the first Str 6 shot that comes your way won't splat your expensive Over Lord.

The reason for upping his Weapons is two-fold, 1) He doesn't hold up for being as good in combat as the other LOW's so that left me two options, Make the Scepter AP 2 or give it something special. I went with the funner option, but if you think AP 2 is more appropriate that would also work. 2) The increased Soul-Orb was to give him an option Vs 2+ Sv's, but if the Scepter went to AP 2 of course the Orbs would revert to AP 3.

As for the Chariot, I'll be really honest, the rules for it really confuse me! What shots go on who and who get's to attack and all. I didn't feel confident i could make rules that didn't break, well, 40K!

Check seth

He is T4 armor 3

Not every LOW needs to be tough as nails.

I dont think its fun to just bump everything up to 11

I think fluff wise his staff should be instant death on 6s to wounds. since its a pain staff at best.

I think however there is excellent potential for the chariot dais.

Chariots are simple.

If it is not a blast or template it can go on whoever you want
If it is. it must go on the vehicle.
in CC they go one whoever the attacker wants.

it being 13 all around i could see it being pretty BA.
