Combined shooting from tankbustas, trukk, snapshotting kannons and lootas cause Ghost Ark to jink, take 2 hull points off and remove the quantum shielding.

Boyz and killa kanz run.

VPs: Orks 0, Necrons 0

Necrons Turn 1
Spoiler:

D-Lord and wraiths advance on the Killa kans

Ghost Ark and ABs reposition

Necron shooting is largely ineffective, requiring both ABs, Ghost Ark and embarked Warriors to wreck the trukk, gaining First Blood.

Tankbustas finish off the Ghost Ark and the boys shoot at the disembarked warriors, downing 2 but both reanimation protocols rolls were successful. Boys attempt an 11" charge and are unsuccessful, but lose none to overwatch.

VPs: Orks 1, Necrons 5

Necrons Turn 3
Spoiler:
Deathmarks fail their reserve roll again.

Wraiths advance on the kannons.

Night Scythe goes after the deffcopta and the AB turns to face the boys.

Wraiths and D-Lord make short work of the kannons.

VPs: Orks 1, Necrons 8

Orks Turn 4

Gretchin arrive from reserve automatically and go on the offensive against the Wraiths.

Tankbustas move backwards to gain LOS to the AB

Boys continue to advance on the warriors and AB

Tankbustas explode the AB despite it jinking.

Shooting from the gretchin put 1 wound on the wraiths.

Shooting from the boys down 2 warriors (who don't get back up)

Boys declare a multicharge against the warriors (primary target) and the AB and lose 2 to overwatch.

But make it into combat.

And take out all the warrior and wreck the AB despite the disordered charge and only lose 1 in return.

And they consolidate back towards the centre of the board.

VPs: Orks 4, Necrons 8

Tankbustas shoot the warriors but do nothing. They charge and lose 1 to overwatch, but the Nob makes it into combat.

The Nob kills 1 and takes no damage in return, winning the combat but the Necrons would hold.

VPs: Orks 4, Necrons 9

Necrons Turn 5
Spoiler:

Night Scythe flys off the table into ongoing reserves. Wraiths move in to help the warriors with the lone tankbusta Nob.

Deathmarks pull back from the boys.

Shooting from the deathmarks downs 3 boys.

Wraiths join the combat. The tankbusta nob declares a challenge which the D-Lord accepts. (Note the nob was not in btb with the whip coil at the start of the fight subphase)

The tankbusta Nob slays the D-Lord before being killed himself. The D-Lord does not get back up, giving the Orks Slay the Warlord

VPs: Orks 6, Necrons 10

We roll to see if the game continues and it does not. The battle is over.

Post game
Spoiler:
Orks gain Linebreaker with the boys squad giving a final score of Orks 7, Necrons 10.
Victory to the Necrons!!

Thanks for reading everyone. As this is my first attempt there are obviously things I could do better. A couple of things I noticed was to make my wrecked vehicles more recognizable and to do a board overview shot at the end of each turn, as well as the obvious don't have blurry photos. Any feedback is welcome, so I can improve for next time

Thanks for the cattle report. I thought it was well done with pictures of all the major action. I agree that overall battlefield shots are helpful to understand the big picture.

It looks like the Ork gun line of kannons and lootas didn't accomplish much against the fast-moving Necron assault units. Maybe more boyz would have helped screen those units better, or they could have given better board control to keep the Necrons from running away for so long.

Too bad that Weirdboy periled himself to death. I was looking forward to seeing what he can do and you rarely see them taken in Bat Reps (or maybe this result is typical). I'll be looking forward to seeing your next write-up!

Thanks, I was very happy with the way the Necrons turned out, and it was so simple to do too.

You're welcome. Yeah definitely, I was getting a bit confused myself at points just writing the report up.

Yeah, the ork gunline didn't have great game. In hindsight the weirdboy could have been deployed with the kannons (then joined the boys turn 1) to help them not get pinned to make the turn 1 shooting more effective. The lootas rolled poorly against the wraiths both with their 2nd turn shooting and overwatch so were unable to thin them out. Another squad of boys would have helped as the wraiths just ran around the board avoiding the big squad of boys that would have put up a good fight.

That was unfortunate. It was the first time he perilsed twice in a game (generally doesn't peril at all). Most times I use him he performs great, even MVP level on a few occasions, but that being said, my meta isn't psyker heavy so he always has a good chance to pull his powers off.

I was rooting for the gretchins.

Thanks for sharing, and great report. The format is easy to read and a great format. Not bad for your 1st report.

Yeah I was hoping the gretchin would do something cool. They only had to kill 1 wraith to get their points back and it wouldn't have taken too much luck for that to happen. Also the game was effectively over at that point, the orks were too far behind on KPs.

You're welcome. I always enjoy reading your reports and can now appreciate how much time you must put into them. I found doing my one a lot of work.

Good Batrep and a pretty close game.

What do you think you'd do next time?

The tankbustas in this edition are rocking. Between tankbusta bombs, bomb squigs, and massed rokkits; I've done quite a bit with them.

Nice to see the Ghost Ark go down quick; I always hated those things.

I think 2 blobs (20ish) of boys would be better, and a big mek with KFF would probably be more competitive than the Weirdboy. The killa kanz would probably be dropped as well, they just aren't up to it this codex/edition.

Yeah, I'm loving the tankbustas. Nothing stands a chance against melta bombs with Tank Hunter. Finally get some use out the squad I built a few years ago.

Actually, the ghost probably should have gone down earlier with the amount of shooting at it in turn 1 and the fact that it lost QS turn 1 as well.
