Here a few DV Terminators I am working on. Obviously not done, but I am curious what people think. for some reason, the pictures showed up upside down. (Trying to figure that little problem out.)

Thin paints

Thicken your paints?

“Good people are quick to help others in need, without hesitation or requiring proof the need is genuine. The wicked will believe they are fighting for good, but when others are in need they’ll be reluctant to help, withholding compassion until they see proof of that need. And yet Evil is quick to condemn, vilify and attack. For Evil, proof isn’t needed to bring harm, only hatred and a belief in the cause.”

Try to use the side of the brush along the raised edge you're highlighting and not the tip of the brush. It takes some practice, but gives a thinner and cleaner highlight line.

Not much else to say at this stage of the project, the armor looks good as does the shading.

Pour the pot directly onto the model!

They look good so far. It looks like you've gone for roughly the same colour Deathwing as I have. How'd you get that colour?

One thing I did notice is your highlights are laid on a little thick. Other then that though you've done a good job so far.

Keep us posted.

BaronVonSnakPak has it right, they look really good, as far as edge highlighting the side of the brush is better along the edge. I have found that using minimal amount of paint on the brush and swiping back and forth (until it shows up) along the edge gets a nice thin but noticeable highlight. Beyond that they look good!

The base coating is fine.

the fact that you got it from black to grey white is pretty good.

looks like you are having issues with edge highlighting though.

if you are trying to extend and blend the highlights around try to use a bit more water and push the pigments around like a glaze

yeah, the edge highlighting always gives me issues. The color scheme is actually not starting to black, but from Rakarth Flesh, and then seriphim sepia, then rakarth again, then a 50/50 mix of rakarth and white scar. The black is something I did after I got it to the color I wanted.

Meh ether way its hard to do a nice uniform light color coating.

But yeah work on the highlights and it should be good.

Been said but the edges are far too thick. Id say, lighten your basecolour with white, thin a little then apply towards the edges. Progressively lighten for 2 or 3 coats, then use pure white thinned minutely laterally and lightly from a fine brush on the very edges. That will give you a crisp highlight. Im not sure if the eyes are done yet but id consider a bright colour, because the rest of the model doesnt have much contrast, it will help make it pop a little.

I would get a very fine grit sanding block (like 600 grit), and *lightly* buff the edges with excessive paint.

As many people have said, you need to thin your paints, for the edge highlights especially. But Deathwing (bonelike) colors are not easy to paint; I can certainly appreciate that they can be tough pigments to work with.
