Used this list for a recent highlander style event. This was the TO ringer which only played 2 games after one player had to leave unexpectedly.

The event was very fluffy, no super-heavies, no invis, etc. This list lost both games played, but it was a lot of fun.

What might you have taken instead? Not to make it more competitive, but instead more fun.

I like the usage of favoured units in the Berzerkers. I do feel that some upgrades can be removed, such as the Plasma pistols as you don't want to risk killing your own guy for a single shot before charging and lose his contributing attacks.

I'm assuming the first squad rides in the Land Raider with Kharn and the Terminators Deep Strike. The Terminators aren't configured as a "suicide" unit to be cheap and relatively disposable.

Unless you play a lot of loyalist SM armies, I would drop all the VotLW upgrades, especially on the Havocs (who don't need MoK either). The IoW upgrade for the Raptors isn't necessary if they are hunting tanks and take opportunities against infantry.

I see that your role for the Havocs is providing anti-air, though I would consider taking a Fortification (ADL) with gun to increase their efficiency.

The overall trimming in your army list could provide an additional unit to your army, especially for a 1500 pt list.

Agreed, Berzerks aren't worth taking without a land raider. Although I wouldn't take 3 squads, I'd go 2. One led by Kharn and one led by a lord with the AoBF.

The event was setup as a modified Highlander, so only 1 of any non-troop unit was allowed, and only 2 of any given troop unit max. So 2 units of zerks is maxed out, and the rest must be unique.

Land Raiders suck. You're already using IA13, so just pay for the Spartan with Ceramite.
As well, there's no reason for the Havocs to have MoK. Even from a fluff perspective that's a really bad purchase. Nobody is going to be afraid to charge 5 models with Counter-Attack.
You also spent lots of points on the Raptors for being a mere 5-man squad. Even then those are points that can be used for Bikers instead because Bikers are just that much better.
