How are people jumping to conclusion on how good armies are going to be in 7th ed when most of the the codexes arent out. Or are they and I have been misinformed is there a list of what has been released? I am more curious if the nid or necron have been released or not.

I think this is the closest we have come to having all armies codices released in the current edition since the game was created.

In response to your question, the Tyranid Codex that is out now is still current, and the Necrons are lined up for a new codex release very shortly. But the book they have now is from 5th edition I believe, or was right at the end of 4th.

But all the armies that had an updated codex in 6th edition are still up to speed. Chaos Daemons, Eldar, Tau, for example, will probably not receive a new codex anytime in the near future and they are intended to be played in 7th edition as is.

No reason for GW not to do a 7th Ed Codex for Tau, Eldar, Necrons, Adepta Sororitas,.... likely just copy paste for the most part but its easy money for them........

Necrons is the last to be updated then that makes all armies with an updated codex so can't see any more for a while few years maybe. What will happen is lots of campaign books and supplements but codex's after necrons are done for now.

Its looks like its going back to the old way of releasing models when ever they like and having rules in WD or for download which to me is a good thing rather than waiting a year or two for your codex to be updated before you get anything

Nobody is "jumping to conclusions". All the codexes except crons and sisters are out and have thousands of games played including many tournament games. 7th is basically 6.5, all the 6th edition books are still up to date. It doesn't take a PhD to flip through a codex like Orks and realize it isn't on the same power level as Eldar.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

I'm suprized that GW hasn't done the 7th ed SM codex yet. and I wouldn't be surprised if they shove it to the front of the line right after Necrons. Though I would like to think that GW would most likely update the oldest 6th ed codex's first ( I honestly dont' know which one's are the oldest but my gut seems to tell me Eldar and CSM from what I've seen on the forums lately.)

2nd edition had a codex out for every faction from the starter set Black Codex except Squats (who were dead, but just didn't know it yet) and Imperial Agents.

3rd edition had a codex for every army, and a couple of new ones added in.

Half of the 'current' codexes were written for 6th edition, not the current one.

Current Necron Codex was written in late 5th (was it in fact the last 5th edition book?) and was partially compatible with 6th edition already.

GW is scared of girls. Why do you think they have so much trouble sculpting attractive female models? Because girls have cooties and the staff at GW don't like looking at them for too long because it makes them feel funny in their naughty place.
