Depends on the force you play, they definitely have all the tools they would need to kill pretty much anything, they are really good tank hunters and have the tools to kill light and heavy infantry.

I am thinking of having one lone one in the backfield for AA and 3 in a squadron with neutron to soften up targets before charging them.

A second weapon on your crab so if you get weapon destroyed the laser doesn't automatically go? That is if the laser and the stubber are treated as separate weapons...

A walking post box with guns, i do like that idea

May have to get one and paint it up with australia post symbols, of course it would also be slow and get lost every game, but still

The Skitarii formation is actually cheap. The only requirement is 2 troops. I think you can have up to 6 troops and various amounts of elites, heavy and fast attack, I don't remember those off the top of my head but they are in this thread somwhere. The point is you CAN field Ad Mech all by themselves whether you are playing at 110 point games (lol) or 1500 or 3000.

Anyway, now that I had a better look at the Onager, it does look like a pretty nice model.

and the cognis is no slouch either, with three in a squad it adds up, especially on overwatch. one casuaty can make a huge difference.

Also the weapon destroyed as mentioned above

yup definatly from space Marine, the ruststalkers/infiltrators is likewise borrowed from space Marine. the Skitarii rangers/vanguards music is from the opening menu music of Wasrhammer 40k: Armageddon.

Can't place where the ironstrider music is from but I'd bet it's from a 40k video game as well.

So, I have my codex and noticed something: The Doctrina Imperatives don't require a leadership check or anything. You just use whichever you want. And if I read it right, it affects any and all units with the Doctrina Imperatives rule. So...the entire army gets whatever you use for the turn. And if you use one, the data tethers give all units affected by them +1 Ld. That's really good. Really really good.

SO you have a choice to use them or do you have to use them?

I thought the downside would be that you would have to pick which ones to waste and which one to hold until its needed

Yep, it is basically a guaranteed buff for whatever you need that turn.

It is interesting to see how it encourages bringing both aspects to your list otherwise your shooting will suffer for two turns IF you want the leadership and other buffs.

Although it is interesting to see how they have pretty good leadership across the board. Might not be worth it many times to use the WS ones

Hot damn. I thought there'd be a leadership test AND you'd have to pick one every turn. Glad my guesses were both wrong!

They are superb, and you can choose to use none. They are like +1WS, +2WS/-1BS, +3WS/-2BS and then again with ballistic and weapon skills inverted.

depends on your aestetic tastes. thats one thing about 40k. the armies have fairly varied apperances so you can proably find one that matches. course weather or not the RULES also work for you...

I imagine nothing would be worse then wanting elder aestweticly but wanting a hyper durable force of grey knight termies rules wise

Looking at the gun mounts, it looks like besides the Icarus array, the other 3 options will be a breeze to magnetize- one magnet at the back of the mantlet of each gun, and one in the round turret base. 4 magnets total.

I'm thinking a pair of Icarus, with just headlights, and then a trio with arms, cupola stubbers, and magnetized guns to make up a gun squadron. maybe a 4th to run them as 2 pairs.

While it is cool...I struggle to be excited by it in light of the Scyllax kit that comes with four servo-arms, 18 mechadendrites, eight small bionic arms, three bionic chainblades, and four bionic bolters. I'm pretty much set for augmentations until they pull the finger out and give us plastic techpriests and plastic servitors

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

If you are UK based then you could try Halfords White primer. I use it all the time and it works well (my logic is that cars are slightly more expensive than models, so the paints will be consistently better)
