I love how the Mechanicus priests always seem so casual even in the middle of the battlefield. They never seem to be excited or fearful, they just go about their tinkering while ordnance

Allies are a detachment, but yes. They can also be taken as a CAD (HQ + 2 Troops) for the traditional OBSEC bonus.

German has gender nouns? Eh, well I'm sure it pays off once you actually learn it all. I enjoy being specific about things in an efficient manner. Also, I've been mulling over which country in Europe I'd choose to move to if I had to pick one, and Germany definitely continues to come up. Not that this is on topic or anything... But yeah. Oktoberfest!

Yeah, I believe, although it may be an urban myth and I'd happily be corrected by a German speaker, that when JFK said "Ich bin ein Berliner" he should have said "Ich bin eine Berliner" and rather than say "I'm a Berliner" actually said "I am a doughnut."

The truth of it is that a 'Berliner' is a specific kind of donut, filled with jelly, that is/was common in Berlin. By saying "A Berliner" he was saying he was that treat- if he'd said "Ich bin Berliner" with the 'eine (the 'a')', then it would have been right, since the '-er' at the end of the city name means that you're from that city.

On-topic, I really do think, especially seeing that side-view, that I'm going to buy myself a box of those Destroyer/Breachers, just for the modeling. I've stopped worrying about rules, and I now just appreciate GW plastic for what it is- really super-high-quality plastic miniatures.

What I can't figure out is what came first - that army, or the Iron Brotherhood models Micro-Art makes. I seem to remember that the Iron Brotherhood were based on those scratchbuilds, but I could be wrong.

Wrong. No language that wastes tons of energy on genderizing words can be perfect. Such a practice is a collosal waste of time.

Back on topic. Re using one of the canticles could be great since they are one use only. The crazy ignores cover rumor still sounds better though

Yes.

this.

Any langauge with genders automatically loses the 'perfect language' contest.

I mean really, what kind of freaks decided (in Hindi) that Manliness would be feminine?

So far Japanese has my pick for the perfect language, if anything I'd say lose the English/Katakana words and assign Kanji and single pronunciaiton and

Oh wait, we're off topic aren't we.

to me it looks like he used some Iron Brotherhood in the army, I have some and those look like their heads and bodies.

Though the tracked servitors may have later inspired Micro Art's own line.

If you have a skitarii transfer sheet on hand, look at the GW photos and the transfers placed on the Kastelans and you can kinda gauge of how large they are. They definitely aren't that big and you can tell from even looking at the sprues. But same with the Dunecrawler, when you see it in the flesh its a trip because you'd get the idea it would be larger than it really is.

Tiny as in skinny, yes. Castellax are broader. However both models are about the same height (from memory the Kastellan is a tad taller because of it's gun and dome-shaped 'head')

I thought they would be about Dreadknight sized, if not at least Dreadnought sized. No, they're not much bigger than Terminators. They're about as tall as Castellax but have much less bulk.

Or, you know, he could have fun and win, lose or draw against like-minded players who choose to play units that fit a theme, fit a scenario, or that simply look cool -- rather than building a list for opponent-stomping awesomeness.

Different people have different definitions of fun, and what they like to do with their time.

When they cost £42 RRP for two of the Kastelan with a character? That'd be an amazing bargain!

Well, that army was made by one of the designers at MicroArt studio, so it's kinda hard to tell what came first: if the models were made for that army and then turned into their Iron Brotherhood range sold by MicroArt, or if MicroArt designed those models for the Iron Brotherhood range and then decided to use them in that display army. I think the former is probably true as that army doesn't feature that many models from the Iron Brotherhood range.
