Power Armour is lacking many of the 'obvious' potential hardwired systems that other IPs take for granted.

Space Marine Sneeze is s2 rapid fire. Though, it has ap6. Because orks.

None, because ordinary lasguns are crap and not as good as bolters. I'll admit hellguns are awesome.

And what about volley guns. They seem to be more potent than bolters.

I think it goes back to why the bolter was designed in the first place. Humans encountered Orks and realized that las and auto weapons could not do enough raw damage to reliably kill or stop them. As why bolters explose inside their targets, the literally kill them inside out, stop them in their tracks, something las weapons (minus the lascannon) fail to do.

The bolter stops the opponent and makes a big mess in the process, shot for shot it is more powerful than las-weapons despite the ammunition problems that can occur.

As such the only las-weapons marines use are Long-las sniper rifles and lascannons.

Also on the idea of inbuilt las weapons for when Marines are outnumbered I think thats basicly what digital weapons are, so they do have that already though its not very common.

Retcon: Bolters were invented because Volkites were too difficult to produce in enough quantities to supply all the Marines.

What's a volkite? I'm not that familiar with Horus Heresy material.

It caps, deflagrate doesn't cause another deflagrate from unsaved wounds caused by the original deflagrate. Still would slaughter orks.

While digital weapons have their virtues- many, many virtues- they're too hard to produce. I (personally) think that important Space Marines like Captains, Chapter Masters, Apothecaries, etc. etc. should have things like shoulder-mounted Hellguns that they operate in a similar manner to how a Dreadnought operates his sensor turret (aka head), only with a firing mechanism. It's entirely plausible, and it would only be a small modification from a Dreadnought sensor turret, as it would simply add a firing mechanism and a weapon. But, then again, that would detract from the value of chainswords, now wouldn't it? CHAINSWORDS MAKE NO fething SENSE!!!
