So with the rumors of the next edition zooming around, I think that the exodus snippet I read about from the end times is possibly true... they may actually launch some ancient alien theory style reptile fleeing of the world.

I didnt follow the end times books, but I was hoping for at least a cool last stand like the battles against the demons in the army book or something. There is still hope that they at least get wiped out in a final stand (is there?)

Any one else think with the new rumors the Lizards might actually simply flee.

I dont want to talk about my Lizards in 10 years time and say "yea they flew away and nobody saw them again".

I guess the situation is kinda funny at least.

Perhaps, much like a certain episode of Rick and Morty, the lizards are going to go to an alternate but very similar reality as things are just too messed up for them to fix.

My prediction is that they're going to blow up the warp gate partway through the evacuation, leaving the remnants on the WHFB world trying to figure out what the ass they do now that their sacred mission has failed and all the Slaan are gone (they presumably went through the gate first) so there's nobody left to tell them what to do.

It would be a sad day if the Lizardmen would truly be removed from the WHFB world, as they are the caretakers the Old Ones left behind/abandoned. As they already lost their most powerfull Slann in the regular timeline, I cant imagine they will do something truly great such as fix/help the WHFB world, start a new world (why not earlier, when the skaven arrived) or find the Old Ones. Instead of the Old Yeller treatment this feels like a Viking longboat burial, where the Lizarmen get a big send-off and are then burned down, it might be a little bit more dignified but still sad.

Im hoping its an evacuation that gets attacked part way through, the Lizards have to sacrifice large amounts of soldiers to get precious and sacred artifacts and jewels through the portal

Perhaps Mazdamundi will die in that escape, completing the circle of when the most powerfull Slann (Kroak) died in the first deamon invasion, with the most powerfull surviving Slann being killed in the last confrontation.

It's odd because they just relaunched the line.

Obviously this dramatic change must have been very recent. Can't wait to hear about it candidly from someone who gabbers about it eventually.

The new White Dwarf has some artworwk of the battle of Izta, and it looks like the temple city is lifting off/levitating. Perhaps they'll move their city?

It may well be a magical barrier or defence shooting lightning, but to me it looks like some form of propulsion, as it seems to be pushing nearby pillars over. There are other floating structures in the background.

Maybe that's how they'll get the Lizardmen into the rest of the old world: they'll just float on over there and hang out, dropping rocks and snakes on people.

No. It's a spaceship. It's going to serve as the landing pad for the Space Marine chapter sent to quell the heretical uprising.

Bah! The Lizardmen would do well serving the Greater Good.

All of this Lizardmen in 40k talk reminds me of the "Slanni" image in the 4th edition of the 40k rulebook:

Maybe the Lizardmen are such a successful race that they get to *graduate* to 40k with the big-sellers?

Arent Lizardmen (or a variation of them, emphasis on the men instead of the lizard) classified as abhumans and used in the Imperial Guard? I remember some small fluff parts and artwork, but not sure enough.

Scalies don't serve in the IG. I don't think the Imperium would let them exist if they got a chance to wipe them out.

While Scalies are a less stable strain of abhumans it is not strange to think that there are stable IG used strains, quite similar to beastmen before fluff changed and they were removed as an acceptable strain.

Edit: Off course the first things that spring to mind for Lizardmen in 40K are xenos such as those used by the Blood Pact, but it is never stated that reptilian features are always an official mutation instead of an abhuman strain.

There are scaled humans who ride on cold one like mounts in the Imperial guard. Apparently best used on volcanic or ashy planets. There are also foot troops of these as well. Seen in the 3rd edition Imperial guard Book.

There are Lizards who fight under the tau notably during the Nimbossa? Crusade or something. Had cool conversions and maybe rules in an old white dwarf.

Then there are the chaos lizards that smell like rotten milk who fight for the chaos as mercenaries. Gaunts ghosts.

Thats the extent of the Lizards I have picked up on from bits and pieces over the years.

nah, in RT they were another Xenos faction. there were a few minis but nothing ever came of them.

In theory GW could bring them back any time though.
