hello all, im in the process of writing FAQ's and erratas for 30k, however I cant spot them all alone
I would appreciate you lovely people pointing out any of the mistakes or things you feel need a change or nerf so I can discuss it with my group and
apply or test these out in our upcoming campaign.

Thanks

yep thank you, but it wasn't what I asked for, I asked if people had noticed any problems or errors, also for anything they feel needs a buff or nerf.

for example we have added 10pts to all the primarchs who don't have an additional CCW, vulkan for example doesn't have a CCW so is limited to 4 attacks, very odd.

Ok well FAQs are pretty well covered... balances.. thats a whole other issue. (and possibly not for YMDC)

Biggest one is a points drop for breachers
actually that's the only one that bothers me particularly

Agreed. If you're looking for balancing issues, you might want to just talk to your friends and correct issues as they pop up. If you're looking for actual rules issues... well, they don't seem to come up too often on this forum. Maybe there are other forums dedicated to 30k?

Caleb Decima from book one (Ordo Reductor FTW! MOAR THALLAX!) has servitors and the battlesmith rule, yet the servitors can't take heavy weapons or servo-arms and they also don't have the 'servo automata support' rule to assist Caleb's battlesmith roll.
its a bit annoying that he doesn't have access to a 'mechanicum protectiva' and because he's a unique character you cant give him a portable void shield (i so would) or the 'machine virus' thing from book 4's relics section.

it also seems a bit lame that the Ordo Reductor cant take 'siege automata' like the thanatar, or myrmidon secutors and myrmidon destructors when Caleb's army list says - "elites: legion Techmarine covenant (representing surviving Reductor Myrmidons, replace the 'legion astartes' special rule with 'stubborn')"

I really don't see the problem here. Unique characters rarely get the optimal choice of upgrades, so why should this one be any different?

There's nothing odd about it at all. That list explicitly represents the limited survivors of a previous battle, it isn't supposed to have all of the same options as the "full" lists. If you want a list with more options then play one.

peregrine is correct from a rules standpoint but from a common sense standpoint where these rules were intended as a filler until the units were actually available.

so for the myrmadons (techmarines) I would just use myrmadons

yep, absolutely spot on peregrine, but i'd like to add to that - the Ordo Reductor got use of a magos dominus from book two (which CAN take a protectiva and cyber familia among other things for a 3++, he can also be upgraded to archmagos and gains 'relentless' to combine with his master-crafted photon thruster at BS5 plus machinator array for T6 plus abeyant for IWND plus rad grenades...) and Caleb Decima got use of an abeyant.
this was supposed to represent my 'full list'.
in book 2, page 265 above legio cybernetica warlord traits (which the ordo reductor can use) it says...

"Further Battle-automata and Mechanicum units will be introduced in future Horus Heresy books by Forge World, which will add to and expand this list and that of the Ordo Reductor found in The Horus Heresy Book 1 - Betrayal."

when i got a copy of book three i thought i would get more things but only the legio cybernetica got extra stuff and my Ordo Reductor didn't even get a mention!
it said that i can use Caleb in a Taghmata list and i can also use my mechanicum LR but no mention of my imperial avenger strike fighter and the Medusa i bought to "represent surviving mobile siege engines".

now, i appreciate that the Ordo Reductor is essentially nomadic and I'm getting the feeling that FW have kind-of included these nomadic Reductor myrmidon factions in with the Taghmata list, but i don't feel that the Taghmata list can really represent the Ordo Reductor - granted it has thanatar, myrmidons and the minotaur; but my thallax lose the ferrox upgrade and count as heavy support choices when i choose the icarian one, and the only Reductor labeled unit is in 'Tech-Preist Auxillia' and the minotaur artillery tank is a lord of war choice despite being a two shot basilisk - it just doesn't feel right.

i had hopes for more stuff in the next book, but the only thing mechanicum there was archmagos draycavac - not even the first dark mechanicum warlord! (archmagos inar satarael).
i remember seeing somewhere that FW cut a bunch of stuff from book 4 to include later, and i really hope that one of the things which were delayed was a full Reductor list for me.

This is not true at all. The admech list in the first book isn't just a placeholder for the "real" one, it's an entirely separate army list with its own strengths and weaknesses. Trying to "FAQ" in all the units from other lists is like trying to give your Ultramarines army some Riptides because they should have more MCs.

uh, sorry dude, but it was actually an 'army list appendix' for a legion army and Caleb Decima's 'list' was only allowed to be used as an allied detachment by a loyalist player.
i got carried away because i already had a titan tech-priest that i bought with my warhound - i already had the HQ model! so naturally, i bought loads of thallax and made a complete army list around it anyway in the hope my mates would just roll with it!
to their credit, they did, then book two came out and Caleb's allied detachment gained a non-unique HQ choice and became a 'list' itself. and there was much rejoicing. :]

i still get the feeling that they just weren't intending on even producing the models in question - all the options available were featured on existing models like valthex's conversion beamer which is why i think caleb decima has no options other than stuff which doesn't need represented,
but i think the popularity of thallax (which i'd like to claim responsibility for a small portion of) made them re-think how far they were going to go with it - i recon they are now planning to do the war on mars as well as the assault on terra.
i thnk thats why it took so long to get new models for the mechanicum - FW had to fit them in among the 'known' projects ('chapter- increment dreadnought series' or 'repetitive-contemptor-syndrome')

ah, my little theory..
