Beautiful conversions.

The Wraith Knight is wonderous and the barge conversion is seamless.

Looking forward to seeing more.

Thanks much! Yea I have 5 of those converted raiders total and 6 of the venoms. Been meaning to put more pics up of them as they were a TON of work cutting and sanding

More to come soon!

Ha ha ha man you made me spew coffee! Damn fine dark roast Espresso but so worth the laugh. Love me some Masters of the Univers, funny enough on that shelf the white army has 5 guys riding lions and two modeled to have attributes of Heman/prince Adam.... you must have a sniper scope on me or something!

The wraithknight needs more spikes and layered plating on the arms and legs, kind of like the carapaces on the Taloi. (Urgh. Weird plurals.)
Plus maybe some sinew in the joints.

Yea he isn't finished. I have a metric feth ton of spikes to go on everything I have posted here at some point but my main priority is getting the overall conversion work done. I probably won't add sinew over armor though as it makes no sense to me, I always hated obliterators for that exact reason but your right, I do need to add some in the shoulder and hip joints.

I might layer some plates but I also want to leave enough room for freehand paintwork. It If I make a loin cloth then I definitely will add some plates to his cod piece, but I may just free hand something creepy onto it instead. He is rapidly approaching too busy. Another reason why I am holding off on adding blades and such. I want to get the composition just right.

Red have you finished painting all the units? Was hoping to see an overview of the entire coven army. Looks amazing. I have been collecting bits for my talos and grotesques myself.

Stunning conversions, extremely well done

What part did you use for the spiny section on the back of the wraithknight conversion ?

Wow. I think you have finally sold me on Dark Eldar. They were definitely a top runner for my next army, and after seeing your work I so badly want to make some of my own.

"Because the Wolves kill cleanly, and we do not. They also kill quickly, and we have never done that, either. They fight, they win, and they stalk back to their ships with their tails held high. If they were ever ordered to destroy another Legion, they would do it by hurling warrior against warrior, seeking to grind their enemies down with the admirable delusions of the 'noble savage'. If we were ever ordered to assault another Legion, we would virus bomb their recruitment worlds; slaughter their serfs and slaves; poison their gene-seed repositories and spend the next dozen decades watching them die slow, humiliating deaths. Night after night, raid after raid, we'd overwhelm stragglers from their fleets and bleach their skulls to hang from our armour, until none remained. But that isn't the quick execution the Emperor needs, is it? The Wolves go for the throat. We go for the eyes. Then the tongue. Then the hands. Then the feet. Then we skin the crippled remains, and offer it up as an example to any still bearing witness. The Wolves were warriors before they became soldiers. We were murderers first, last, and always!" —Jago Sevatarion

wonderful.

I love the taloi.

The wraithknight looks awesome, I had a similar idea, but lack of balls/ a wallet to pull it off. My only small issue with it is the legs and arms look too craftworldy (ugh). Maybe add some scars or something, just too make it more horrible.

all look great, cant wait too see them painted.

I cant believe I've never noticed this thread before, as there is some seriously awesome work going on here.

That Wraithknight is a beautiful piece of work, I love how you've managed to keep it looking so dynamic, something that's not so easy to do when your dealing with such large models.
Also the fact that you seem to have converted every model in that Dark Eldar army, which is fantastic as it creates something that's really unique .

That Wraithknight Is amazing, the way you've made it fit your theme is perfect, can't wait to see it finished.

Your conversions are going to look a million times better than regular armies, way to capitalise on the 5 Talos formation, that just screams conversion potential, plus you may even ending saving money, those things are freaking pricey for a 100 put model, nobody has the models to run that formation lol

So when last I posted I had no idea I was due for a neck injury lol. I ended up blowing a disc in my neck which causes loss of function and atrophy of the muscles in my left pec, shoulder and tricep and loads of pain. LOADS OF PAIN LOL.

How appropriate, but alas, the haemoculus I am has recovered having learned from my painful experiment, however accidental lol. I managed to paint up my army for the fall tournament I was planing the army for and then proceeded to procrastinate on updating this blog. I apologize for the long absence.

Anyway, I am off to work but here are some things to view.

the keen observer will notice I missed that MASSIVE gem on the sword in the last pic, I noticed it the day of the tournament and have still not corrected the error

Bare in mind it's still only 80% done anyway. At least thats the excuse.

Here were the other big hits of the event, warp spiders! these are one 5 man unit, there is also another.

exarch with spinnerette rifle lol

anywho, off the work, I'll get more stuff up tonight!

Enjoy!

Reavers!

Here are my two counts as faseers on jetbikes, they can also double as haemis for my grotesqueries, I call them the twins, two tortured psychic abominations that serve as slave conduits for their masters bidding. Oh and Urien is in there, it is the original sculpt, my personal favorite dark eldar miniature even to this day. That model is simply oozing with details and character!

I still need to black out the flight rods on my reavers and my farseer/haemis.

Here are my creations for the dreaded Corpse thief claw, the one made from the corpse of a wraithlord is the unofficial leader while the large sac-O-pede fellow is the bag the dismembered parts are stuffed inside once they are harvested from the battlefield

And my Duke Slicus conversion, the original idea is from the web site The Bolter And Me, it was such a great idea I had to use it, it reminds me of Gladiator champion of the Shi'Ar from X-Men.

WOW

These conversions are absolutely stunning. I love the idea of making Dark Eldar versions of Eldar units. It makes sense that the armies would share ideas/units. The haem conversions are spectacular too. The bikes in particular are a nice change and really stand out.

PLEASE keep up the good work.

Thanks, I was initially going to go with black armor but black really makes the army fall flat when your gaming. I decided white would be less traditional and have a unique look for dark eldar units. I actually was inspired by the magic card Ellish Norn for the color scheme.

Thanks so much for the kind words! I wanted to make bikes that were unique and had a coven theme, I also was keeping in mind that if they looked like there own concept I can sub them in as windrider jetbikes with stock weapons instead of reavers I like the standard kit, but it always seemed strange to me that wyches road bikes and flew razorwings.

I have quite a few of them as well lol. 18 to be exact.

Here are my clawed fiends/grotesques that are painted, I STILL have not even based or primed my everblight warspear grotesques lol. I have 22 grotesques all in all lol. I may have a problem. I have yet to build a single wrack lol.

Oh and here is a shot of the none mutant side of the force lol

I need to be able to field scalpel squadrons so I made up some coven venoms, there will be 6 of them total.

I am actually currently working on a Slaanesh themed noise marine army at the moment, but I always end up back working on my dark eldar, it is turning into a massive army with the eldar counts as units being added in. I really want to make my own versions of incubi and mandrakes. Anyway thats all for now, hope you all enjoy the pics!
