So I know in the rules Daemonicly possessed vehicles reduce a vehicles BS by 1. Why is this? Wouldn't a Daemon possession have a better shooting skill?

Deamons are not used to being in metal cans. so they can't function quite as well as a normally manned tank

Deamons are so blinded by fury they cannot think clearly so shoot worse

Because it slightly counter balances the ignores stunned/shaken condition

take your pick really.

Also I believe Daemons are more known to favor the closer type of combat.

"We are the Red Sorcerers of Prospero, damned in the eyes of our fellows, and this is to be how our story ends, in betrayal and bloodshed. No...you may find it nobler to suffer your fate, but I will take arms against it." -Ahzek Ahriman

Why is this a question? It'd be like giving your dog an M-16 and being like "WHY DOESN'T HE EVER SHOOT STRAIGHT!?" - 99% of Chaos Daemons are no better than animals as far as sentience is concerned. That's why the ones that are are so scary!

Bloodletters have freakishly high BS for some reason. Then again, they're also the only demons I'm aware of that canonically man cannons (on those chariots) so it'd make sense they know how to shoot other things.

Due to that though, I'd go with the whole "It's not even their body" explanation. How well do you think you'd function if you were possessing the body of say, an octopus?

I like to think that Daemons are not absolute killing machines in every aspect all the time. They are good at most things they do despite that, however.

Also, let's not forget that BS3 is not actually bad. Imperial Guardsmen are trained by the Imperium before being let loose on the battlefield after all.

For a more accurate look at an untrained markman, check out The Lost And The Damned in Imperial Armour 13. They all have WS and BS 2, which I think is a lot more "normal".
