From Software purposefully misled PC gamers by releasing Dark Souls II trailers with graphics far beyond the actual product (think: Aliens: Colonel Marines). They now release the DX11 version that is supposed to drastically enhance graphics...

...for a price. They actually CHARGE PC players EXTRA in order to deliver the product they promised to deliver right off the bat.

That's right on EA levels and about the most pee-poor customers support you could imagine. It's not just cutting out content and charging for it (Day 1 DLC etc.), it's false advertising and then charging extra for it.

I am disgusted by the studio that brought us Dark Souls I, one of the best games of the decade.

...and to add insult to injury, if you do choose to go for the DX11 version, you cannot use your saves.

So they're trying to be like Ubisoft was with Watch_Dogs, only charging for the graphics?

They said the graphics would be better but they weren't.

Charging for what is essentially a patch is pretty crappy.

Precisely. They now release a patch that fixes the graphics problem (mostly lightning related) and are going to charge people for it.

Bizarre decision. Charge for worthwhile expansion packs or added content if done well but for a patch?

Console gamers get the update for free, which at the very least goes to show that they aren't about ripping everyone off, only PC gamers.

Something like 3 new bosses is being added into the game, + 1 more "area".

Updated dialogue and item descriptions.




While this is a low blow, and yes, From has lost my money, this isn't just a "Screw Everyone Over" type of deal.
