So my chaos Lord with black mace just turned into a demon prince,

I lose everything and I'm now a bare, no-armor nurgle prince with no psyker ability?

Black Mace is still a piece of Wargear. The fact that it comes from the Relic table doesn't change that.

This. You're effectively completely replacing your Lord with a Prince. No savesies.

I legitimitely wish I could afford to start a chaos army purely for little things like this. Annoying under some circumstances, but feels fluffy and fun.

Sad panda, I played it assuming the war gear is needed to purchase/replace for the black mace

Champion turns into a Daemon Prince with power armor.

Retains his Mark of Chaos, if the champion had a mark, and his Warlord Trait, if the champion was your Warlord.

Does not retain the his wargear nor special rules.

Does not retain mark, becomes deamon of whoever's mark he had. still has power armor (or gains it in the case of an overly lucky cultist champ) loses all wargear. not sure on psyker, since the only chaos psykers i used were already princes.
