So, I'm building some Tau, and I love the idea of Seeker missiles. Unfortunately, the model for them looks like crap. I was thinking of converting something, but can't think of any appropriate bits to start with.

I want to do something like Sidewinders. Cylindrical missiles, probably with fins. Mounted to a hard point instead of inside some sort of housing.

I'm not afraid of buying a whole kit for a few bits, if the kit is worth it. But I greatly prefer plastic over metal/resin.

Any suggestions?

If you want a sidewinder, it seems the easiest thing to do would be to pick up a kit for a F-16 or some other fighter jet.

FW makes some aircraft accessory kits. No personal experience with them, YMMV.

Those might help.

Any experience with those, Rig?

I'll probably try out the missile kit. It might be exactly what I was looking for...

No experience at all - just some amazon footwork from a while ago.

I was looking for similar options for completely different reasons.

There are several modern air weapon accessory kits from companies like Tamiya covering Russian, US and Israeli weapons that would provide you with a number of options.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

There's the Hunter Killer missiles from the ig tank kits.
It's not really an optimised option so there should be plenty knocking around for a good price.
The old one is long and slim looking and designed to fit inside a launcher but it's a full missile the other current one is kinda squat and rail mounted but you may like it?

Considered the IG heavy weapons squads? The missiles are almost as tall as a guardsman. They lack significant fins/stabilizers but that can be easily remedied with plasticard.

The revel hind and harrier come with a ton of missile pods and missiles. They're like $20 each which is cheaper than any Forgeworld add on packs.
