'We cannot separate this from history,' he continued.
'Our history, our whole European history, unfortunately has imbibed this Nazism from the Second World War and we cannot escape from that.’
The toys sold by the company involved Nazi tanks, soldiers and other military items, as well as Soviet, American and British toys.
The statement from Cobi comes on the heels of a recent decision from Swedish department store, Gekås in Ullared, to cease stocking the Nazi-inspired toys.
Gekås CEO Boris Lennerhov explained: 'This is not something we want to promote as form of ideal.'

It's a whole range of WWII lego-esque toys that is faithful to the time period, and does not promote the Nazi ideology. I think this matter is being blown out of proportion

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

It's Sweden. They are bending over backward to outdo everyone else on multicultural progressivism.

Its strange how they are getting butthurt about it now, while very few people remember the war, than when said people were in their majority.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.

Agree.

If they were only selling WW2 German military items, then there may be a point. But looking at the range as a whole, and the WW2 German military items being a part of a larget set that includes all nations involved in the conflict, there really isn't an issue.

Agreed. I wish people would be more concerned about how the nazi's behaved and what lead them to power. Claiming a toy line that has the forces involved in ww2 is pro-nazi is just ridiculous (and also the sort of thing a nazi would do). Irony much.

Uh can't you still buy plastic army men (youknow the ones from Toy Story)? The green ones are Americans and the grey are the Germans. ...So I guess those are being asked to be puled too?

Can anyone spot any Swastikas on those toys? I just see Iron Crosses. I'd care more that those are toys where all the soldiers seem to be smiling giddily, and particularly that its suedo lego blocks representing the military, something the creator expressively went out of his way to not happen.

Ack anyway, it takes a skewed view of history to start bashing some Iron Crosses but be fine with all the Allied and Communist stars.

Do you really think that would happen? That someone would go online and blow something out of proportion?

This kind of thing really gets under my skin, and I'm glad to see the store taking a sensible approach to it. There's nothing inherently Nazi about a Panzer IV, other than the army of Germany under the Nazi government used it.

Yeah, gotta say the most offensive thing here is the knockoff Lego-style product. Because those things are never as good as the real stuff.

The interesting also is that it is a Polish company, As the Nazi considered (most) of Poland their property and did some nasty stuff to the population there, Sweden was Neutral during that time.

Lego WWII? That seems like a pretty cool idea to me. Doing all the tanks and whatnot in Lego style (or not-Lego style, as the case may be). As long as they don't go overboard (like a Lego concentration camp - that's poor taste), then I really don't see the issue.

Really I don't see how this is all that different to selling Airfix kits of Germans. They’re not seen as a glorification of Nazism.

Also if the complainers are so concerned with Lego toys connected with murderous totalitarian regimes they shouldn’t they also be kicking up a fuss about the T-34?

Looks like they sell WWII Legoesque toys. Whats the issue? How you can play the good guys if there are no bad guys to blow up?

EDIT: is it me or did we just find a source for cheap IG tank conversions?

To be specific, are they Wehrmacht or SS? What level of detail are they going for?

Not very. I can link pics but go to the OP. They're pretty crude. Almost perfect for IG...

From reading the article I don't think it was ever a mass produced set for sale. It was some artist's work, with a few sets ending up in various museums and private art galleries.

Further proving that "modern art" is an insanely nebulous term.
