I've just given a look to Mortarion's rules in HH, and I don't understand why he can teleport 10'' in the shooting phase (and then assault).
I mean, it's cool and all, but I don't understand how the fluff justifies that.

It's clearly described in his write up. It's the almost-spectral nature of his being. He's not teleporting, he's moving quickly and silently.

fluff wise there is no support for it, but it is cool

Yeah. I love getting very reliable turn 1 charges with a Primarch
There's nothing like reminding your ennemy of why he fears Nurgle not by just sitting there and not moving (although that does help ), but by exterminating an entire squad of tacticals before turn 2.

Its because he is followed around by a cloud of miasma so you aren't every really sure exactly where he is till he appears out of the mist.

There is one actual reference to it, vengeful spirit, prior to that the rule didn't exist so the writers never mentioned it.

There was a reference to it in A Thousand Sons as well, before the HH: Betrayal ever came out.

He appeared from the shadow of a Titan, surprising all of the Thousand Sons with his stealth with the exception of Magnus.

There was one or two refrences to it in flight of the eisenstien.

Stepping from the shadows of a titan is shroud, not teleporting, a rule similar to corax would make sense, but not his bloop maneuver as we call it.

Earnshaw can you post up the quotes from Eisenstein, as I listened to it recently but can't remember what your referring to, I may have missed it.

One particular scene comes to mind when (I believe) we first see Mortarion, where he steps out of the shadows and everyone is insanely surprised, because no one knew he was there. It might be the scene where Garro is denouncing the lodges.

I never felt that way about Mortarion when I read Eisenstein, so looking back, I think what they meant about that Novel is the following line:

At the far end of the chamber, a towering shadow detached itself from the dimness beside the oval windows. -- 'One. Assembly. A fine Sword. Death Lord"

There is also the other line when Garro realized Mortarion was in the same room where he was assessing post-battle with his company.

It perturbed Garro to realise that he had not even heard the approach of his primarch.

It just seems to me that Mortarion was a very stealthy, silent Primarch. I don't recall hyper-fast speed or shadow-melding. Then again, being Primarchs, it would not be too strange that they can do any of those things.

My favourite thing about this rule, is that it is most definitely NOT a psychic power (as morty hates witches) but merely a supernatural ability thats needs a leadership test (Not a psychic test honest).

I think its a subtle nod to his later hypocrisy

Well. Note that most Nurgle powers are still Afflictions. Less hypocritical than those damn Space Wolves, "My planet made me do it" excuse.

And this write in was still better than Corax's Turn Invisible when noones watching trick.

Well it is and it isn't a psychic power.

From a strict technical perspective, it is a psychic power. All the Primarchs had some inherent abilities. But they were so strong they would automatically manifest, thus they are not represented using the current game mechanics for psychic powers. Think of them like powers that automatically manifest with no warp charges and can't be denied.

Really?
I don't suppose there's a list of which abilities each primarch had?
I can guess for Magnus and Corax , but what did the Lion or Angron have?

Yeah... there's a bit in the hall where they see the deathshroud and realise Mortarion must be nearby but no-one knows where he actually is.

Primach Abilities:

The Lion, Gulliman, Dorn - Nothing in particular

Sanguinius - supposedly glimpses of the future

Russ - A 'Howl' which is distinctly Psychic in nature given its effects.

Curze - Visions of the Future

Vulkan - Reincarnation from death. Also rumoured to see the future.

Coraz - able to disappear, may be a Pariah (given that he sees 'Revalation' not the Emperor)

Magnus - actual, honest-to-tzeench psychic powers

Lorgar - a psyker, but not very gifted (until he learns sorcery as well)

Guilliman wrote and published a book to govern the Astartes chapters for the next ten millennia in a century or two. Lorgar has been writing a book for ten millennia and still has yet to publish it.

Lorgar also wrote the Lecticio Divinatus which is the basis of the whole Imperial religion isn't it?

Sanguinius can also fly!

Fulgrim and Horus both start without psychic powers but do develop them over the course of the heresy.
