I was wondering which one people preferred and why. Is one significantly better than the other? Is it better to sell out on one type or take some of each? Thanks for the advice!

For the guy who leaves it all on the field (because he doesn't pick up after the game).

If you're taking a Decurion you'll need some of each. Otherwise it's largely preference.

Immortals you get more bang for your buck shooting wise and if equipped with Tesla carbines even better cause you get your 2 additional hits on a roll of 6. Though if you're going for armour piercing Gauss is the way to go.

Immortals for MSU so you can spend more points on your other stuff Warriors for more shots and bodies. Tesla is pretty much pointless on Immortals because they are nearly the same past 12" but gauss beats out 12" or less and on overwatch since tesla no longer gains the two extra hits on OW.

It's easy to assume that people arguing an interpretation you disagree with are just looking for an advantage for themselves... But it's quite often not the case.

I have always preferred Immortals since 4+ warriors are just too weedy for me, given that I use 2e models which are significantly bulkier.

Tesla on Immortals is pointless.

They were always 'pointless'.
But before Tesla was the better of two bad choices.
Now it's the worst choice of two bad choices

Though I do wonder what weapons we could best take on Tomb Blades!

With the new RP rules, I'm thinking multiple 5-man Immortal squads.

Gauss Immortals were never bad, honestly. Making every member of a unit S5 for shooting with the tactical option of glancing a Land Raider is easily equivalent to buying a specialist elsewhere.

Oh, and we can just laugh when someone casts Iron Arm now, both with Immortals and Warriors.

New RP and Gauss rules and the chronometron now being a 5++ for the squad against shooting boosts Warriors more than they boost Immortals IMHO and Ghost Arks are now crazy good (and it's not as if they were bad in the previous codex), so all in all I'd say Warriors now edge out Immortals significantly whereas previously they were pretty much equally valid.

On the other hand Warriors can no longer do MSU so you're still going to need Immortals for that.

If you're using Ghost Arks, Warriors are definitely superior.

They were already great transports, and now they're cheaper, can't fail repair rolls and get twice the shots at 24". Crazy good for their cost.

Ghost Arks could never fail their repair rolls. they rolled a D6 and on a 1 they lost a hull point but still repaired D3 models, And on 2-6 they repaired D3 models without loosing a hull point.

By fail I meant that they took a hull point.

Actually I'm thinking about 10 Immortals led by a Cryptek:

Everyone gets T5, you got 10 S5 AP4 shots on the move doing 1 average glance at BS4, 20 at 12" range doing 2 glances followed by another 20 during overwatch (so good luck anybody trying to charge them), you have plenty of 3+ armor saves, and 5+ inv. saves, and if they die, they come back on a 4+ WBB. Good luck trying to wipe this unit off the board.

They have Toughness 4.
The idea seems nice, but unless you face a lot of AP4 I would prefer Warriors.

Actually I think the GW $$$/figure value is the only reason why people prefer Warriors over Immortals.

For 4 more points per guy, you trade in a 4+ save (which can be negated by a lot of weapon types) for a 3+ save, and a S4 AP5 gun for a S5 AP 4 gun.

$ per model hardly matters, it's the $ per points that matters.
