Watched the Mist again, and I swear. Every time I see that ending it's like getting kicked in the groin by a steel toed boot. Absolutely brutal.

The Mist was one of the few movies that made me cry...

While the Mist largely feels like a B movie, that ending was actually exceptionally well done on the part of the actor, it reminded me of Vigo's scream of rage in the Two Towers (when he broke his foot kicking that helmet), but it was even more brutal given they were actually dead. The utter breaking of the being that would result with you killing your own son only to find out that rescue was but seconds away and following you all along...

Yeah I agree, the ending to that movie makes the whole damn movie if you ask me. It's like Unforgiven, the movie is good but the ending makes it great.
