ironic you said that last comment "is going to be a lot of ignores cover" anytime I show up to the shop every player their starts finding their flamer templates and finding out where they left all their flamer models :-p. I think they believe I will always run big units of boyz lol

To be fair, the first thing people think of when it comes to Orks is hoard. But with flamers, unless they are heavy, they shouldn't be getting through your 4+ anyway. They would also need you to pull some serious derp movements to get flamers in range of your bikes before your shooting them up or cutting their faces off :p

ohh they bring them because I usually field 2-3 30 man boyz squads. Its just so much fun to have a gigantic wall of green flesh running up the board, and it limits maneuverability to because you really can't get around them

I come in peace. I didn't bring artillery. But I'm pleading with you, with tears in my eyes: If you mess with me, I'll kill you all

I know that feel :p I love bringing a lot of infantry. Though I've had to cut back my urges to bring as much as I can, unless I'm Green Tiding. Now, I tend to bring two Wagons full of Boyz, Nob, Boss, Painboy and have those screech up the field with Walker support because fun. :p

so i mostly have the KFF to protect the 4 trucks and wagon rather than for the soul reason of protecting the bikes. though i do agree with perhaps ading 2 or 3 more bikes, thanks for the ideas and comments guys!

I'd just be careful then. If he isn't joined by the other bikers as a form of bubble wrap, then you'll be giving up first blood/slay the warlord very, very easily which could cost you a game on its own.

i took 2 squads of 20 last torny, it worked out pretty well because there werent too many dudes to get around, and they didnt seem very threatening.... until they crashed into my oponent of course

this is true, but im hoping to score first blood with the tank bustas on a vehicle in order to get 2 points for first blood. that with the warbuggies, i can soften up a target enough to let the bustas reliably (using reliably with caution of course, since im playing orks) take it out and get the last hit. as for slay the warlord, i will aim to be very careful with him and bubble wrap him with the other vehicles around him in order to prevent line of sight. and im generally hoping that my opponent is more worried about the 5 vehicles coming towards him than thinking about the big mek. and if i turbo boos with the trucks i get 4+ cover as well? so shouldn't be too bad.

If you sent your melee unit after mine I'd roll my eyes and continue with the ready of the board. You shoot the killy and you kill the shooty. It's simple ork philosophy.

Both units can kill just fine. Survivability of my unit against anything ap3 or worse is much better than yours on the other hand. And lets not forget, I expressly said I'd never use a trukk. So get ready to roll those 5s then 6s to glance my battlewagons to death in that first turn before I get to go. If I go first, or my be front armor doesn't get popped before the first move... I'm close enough to not worry at all.

Since you have a shooty force, maybe try to bring some lobbaz along?

I'd put a little more weight on melee elements at the cost of rokkits, I'm glad for my 3rd trukk mob. My 6 bikes are usually just getting killed - so at least they take some pressure off the other units.

With love from Denmark

well i would use less bustas, but with 15 i will hit 5, and then require 4+ re rolling for pens against armor 12, which seems to be average, and probably score 3 or 4 hull points on average. if i have only 10 however, i will hit 3, and only score 2 or maybe 3 hull points if i am very lucky. since most vehicles worth killing are 3 hull points, i feel like 15 bustas is a good number to go for especially since i already have warbuggies, who can soften up a vehicle for the bustas to reliably take ot out and hopefully get two points for first blood

Bomb squigs are really useful for the first blood approach. Against vehicles, the AP difference doesn't really matter, and it's a great way to start the game.

For the guy who leaves it all on the field (because he doesn't pick up after the game).
Keep on rolling

true haha i think i have been playing against my brothers eldar too much, so i just stopped using them because they cant hit skimmers. i think having bomb squigs with 15 tank bustas MIGHT be a little overkill though on anything that isnt a land raider

and now im seriously worried that im just gonna come up against a load of land raiders haha

should i swap the trucks with big tracks from AI8?? they have 12 armor. i would just have to add another HQ to free up heavy support slots, and id need a few extra points, so what should i get rid of??

or maybe even a gun wagon with front armor 13! they would only be 20 extra points each!

so here is my revised list:

Da 'Edd Bangerz #2 (FW) (1499pts)
(Combined Arms Detachment)

HQ (125pts)
• Big Mek (125pts) [Bosspole, Gift: Da Finkin' Kap, Warbike, Warlord. Kustom Force Field]

Elites (490pts)
• 3X Meganobz [3X Kombi- Skorcha, Bosspole]
• 3X Meganobz [3X Kombi- Skorcha, Bosspole]
• 15X Tankbustas [Boss Nob, Bosspole]

Troops (280pts)
• 10X Slugga Boyz [Boss Nob, Bosspole, Power Klaw]
• 10X Slugga Boyz [Boss Nob, Bosspole, Power Klaw]
• 10X Gretchin [Runtherd, Squig Hound]
• 10X Gretchin [Runtherd, Squig Hound]

Fast Attack (219pts)
• 3X Warbikers [Warbiker Nob, Power Klaw]
• 5X Warbuggies ) [Twin-linked Rockkit Launcha]

Heavy Support (385pts)
• Battlewagon [Reinforced Ram, 2x Rokkit Launcha]
• 2X Gun Wagons (FW) [Reinforced Ram]
• 2X Gun Wagons (FW) [Reinforced Ram]

better or worse than the last one?

It is the same as before but i have traded out a squad of 5 warbuggies (there were 2 units of 5 before) and all 4 of their trucks in exchange for 2 squads of 2 Forge World Gun Wagons because they are the same as trucks BUT they have armour 13, 12, 10 instead of 10, 10 ,10. they arent fast but have a twin linked big shooter instead of a rokkit launcha, and i have given them rams and so basically, for a 25 point upgrade i have upgraded the trucks armor a HUGE deal for my orks. so the battle wagon still goes in the middle and the KFF behind. one squad of gun wagons on the left will have a squad of boyz and a squad of meganobz inside. the mirroring of the left will be on the other side. the boyz will be next to the battle wagon and slightly in front of the other gun wagon of meganobz so the opponent has to kill the gun wagon with boyz first as they can run and that way my meganobz are even more protected. this will also protect my KFF a little more and mean the side armor of closest gun wagon is obscured as well.

any comments on the list would be greatly appreciated

I like it. Gun wagons are solid gold when it c omes to getting nasty units close in. Sure, they only carry 10, but if the first one is an expendable unit anyway, who cares? I ran the front wagon as shoota boys, and kept the PK off the nob, switched it for a BC. Saves about 10 points a squad, and im not worried about the lack of PKs in the unit because theres the nobs/MANZ plowing in right behind.

Trim some of the buggies to add wounds to the big mek biker blob, otherwise he'll get krumped. People try to ake those KFFs out when they can.

thanks for the advice!

running shoota boyz and keeping the power klaws in the wagons behind seems like a great idea! might try and fit that in sometime, but for now (due to current painted models) ill keep to the power klaws ..... yeah, ill have to add more bikes when i get more bike models, thanks!
