So, Punk Buster banned me a few months ago. A few days ago I sent in a Trouble Ticket, which was denied.
I'm perma banned from 99% of all BF3 servers. Now what, do i ask for a refund, do I buy a new game?

I have no idea. Forgot to mention that I never use fraps or any other recording gadgets, no mods/hacks etc. It just banned me.

I'd send in a complaint if I were you.

Actually, it does happen. Although it's usually someone being an ass and reporting people for no reason.

It may have happened due to someone playing him online and disliking him, fudging a report that he was cheating somehow. My roommate does it all the time when he loses: "nobody can be better than him" and anyone who is is obviously cheating. I called him out on it, but he just doesn't care. So...people like that do exist. Hopefully, if this is something like what happened to you, you get it resolved quickly, somehow. Good luck

And why did they say that? Tell us the whole story, not just the pieces.

Note #3: The supplied GUID has been associated with hacking or interfering with the normal operation of our PunkBuster software and has therefore been compromised resulting in a global ban from PunkBuster enabled game servers. We have no way of knowing who was actually playing with this GUID at the time the violation was triggered. We also have no way to know if the violation was triggered on your specific computer. Our system does not collect personal information and furthermore we have no way to attach a cheat/hack violation to a specific person. This ban will not be lifted as then the person who did trigger the violation would again be able to join PunkBuster Servers using this GUID.

To be clear: we are not saying that you cheated as we have no way to know who triggered the violation. If it is certain that no one playing on your computer ever had a cheat/hack violation triggered by PunkBuster, then your GUID (cdkey and/or game account password) has been stolen by or leaked to someone who has used it on a different computer to trigger the violation. We do not have the means to help you find out who is responsible for compromising your GUID.

Chances are someone was using your account without your knowledge. Unfortunetly you end up being the victim here. Best you can do is appeal long and hard but most likely they will stick to their guns. I had a similar experience on a minecraft server :( Only advantage there though was that it was just the one server and not a majority.

I was a server admin back in the days of CoD4. Let me put it this way; Punk Buster would ban people for the Steam Overlay. Yes. I am serious. Punk Buster would occasionally ban players for having the Steam Overlay running in the background. And that's just an automated process. You could put together 'this guy is a hacker' reports and half the time, PB would ban whoever you were complaining about at the snap of a finger.

PB is a horrible program. The people who develop it have a very 'I don't give a gak' attitude towards any suggestion that there could be a problem with the system. Suggest they got something wrong and they just ignore you.

Most of the people banned by PB are hackers. Maybe Matt isn't telling the whole truth, idk. But I can tell you from experience with this system that it is flawed, and a good number of people have been banned by it for stupid reasons.

PB and programs like it, are fairly useless. The effect they provide is really just a placibo that convinces players that they're safe from hackers when they're really not.

False positives are part of every security system. Oftentimes, companies hide how many they have for security purposes (and marketing purposes).

Once my Origin account was stolen and that nice man played my BF3 with cheats and was banned.
When I returned my account and realized that I can't play any official server I wrote to Origin support (which by the way restored my account and could confirm it before Punkbuster). The answer was: "nothing we can do to help you, buy a new one".
Punkbuster support answered that permanent ban can not be lifted.

Yep. They don't have the honesty, motivation, or compassion to reverse bad decisions and false positives.

To play devil's advocate: it can be difficult to track down whether it was a genuine account hijack or not. And: if the hacker got your data by any means that does not involve a mistak on behalf of the company (e.g. virus etc.), then, by all means, it's your own fault.

You are absolutely correct. But it was some period when was stolen a lot of Origin accounts at, if I am correct, 2012, including my. In any case, I had to create a new.
