So they were the size of large men. 6 1/2 feet tall and weighing in in the neighborhood of 210-230lbs.
So obviously they're beefier than normal sisters.
That's still along way off from the marines who are 8ft tall, 600+lb masses of genetically modified superhuman muscle.
I'm asking because I'm trying to stat them up.

Finally found my quote from a gym buddy born and raised in South Korea:
"It is the soldier, not the reporter who has given us the freedom of the press.
"It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us the freedom of speech.
"It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who gives us the freedom to demonstrate.
"It is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag."

as far as being helpful? It's possible they were vat-grown, but I only say that because I have no way to say that they aren't.

Lolz.
I put that there as bait, knowing I'd get a lecture.
Funniest thing is 2 out of 6 listed sources from that post list marines as 8ft.
But yeah, most art paints marines as more than 8 feet tall in armor.
Back to the actual question now sweethearts.
Would you stat Sisters of Silence as being S&T:4 or maybe S:3, T:4? How would you guys handle them?

@ThePrimordial

I would tell you to use SoB stats. I know the two organisations aren't related in any way, but they do have the same niche in the Imperium war machine. 6 1/2 is probably the size of a lot if not most of SoB and 200 lbs is a healthy average weigh for someone of that size. Less then that and that person would be very skinny.

The strength and toughness system of Warhammer 40K is very strict and invariable between races in the setting. The Initiative stats is the only purely «physical stat» that changes from heroes to grunts (a basic space marine has 4 but a hero 5, a guardsmen has 3 but a tempestor prime has 4, etc.). So strength and toughness 3 represent a wide variety of actual strength and toughness from a rather average build humen with no physical training to a insanely trained Scion and SoB. Plus, we don't know for sure if these two don't have light body modification like enhanced muscle or that kind of thing. We know many assassins, bodyguard and bounty hunters and others have enhance their bodie (of course these enhancement pale in comparison to the Space Marines), but we don't know if it's the case for their best purely humen soldiers.

So I would say SoB stats, but no act of faith and a massive bonus to resist psychic powers.

Do you mean normal women? Because the Sisters of Silence have nothing to do with the Sisters of Battle, that were founded millenias later. And we have precious few information on how big is the average Sister of Battle. The only thing we know for sure is that she has to be a pure badass .

Base BSS stat, minus all the Faith Powers. Power armor, bolt gun, CCW.

Adamantium Will
Maybe a further +1 on Deny the Witch rolls if the Squad has 7+ members in it? Sort of a "Sisterhood of Blanks" kind of a deal (like Brotherhood of Psykers, but the opposite)?

Maybe give them the option to do something similar to a Culexus Assassin, or make such a trick an option for squad-leaders, ICs or something along those lines.

Aren't SoS immune to psychic powers? In fact, doesn't their mere presence disrupt psychic powers?

I think one of the reasons for different answers to how tall is a marine is in or out of armor. I think you might get a 1' different between barefoot and in armor.

On the cover of Prospero Burns they look very tall, as in Space Marine sized although that may just be artistic license.

Most art that is meant to capture a "the Dark Ages in Space" vibe will make its main characters in a piece heroic in scale. They appear huge because they're important. IRL, the art of peasants and nobles from the Dark Ages (and beyond) often depicted the peasants as tiny compared to the noble depicted.

I think the SoS were specifically made by the emperor, so odds are they're above the usual cut of humanity. I would say mechanically S3 T4 probably

Not even a little bit.

The Sisters of Silence are/were recruited by the AAT in the same way that Psykers are recruited.

They have a wide range of heights and builds as a result, although all will have been trained to the peaks of physical capability.

The strongest natural human in the galaxy is S4 (Harker). The toughest unaugmented humans in the game are T3.

It's highly unlikely that the mutation that allows for psychic blankness is going to take well to augmentation.

I'd say that S/T 3 are probably fair for the Sisters of Silence, but they should definitely Deny on a 2+ within 6".

I would tend to agree that they would have similar psychic defences as the Culexus - they are pretty devastating against Psykers and Daemons.

Sororitas stats is a good start.......

I doubt that they were augmented, and the artwork isn't really a good basis for assumptions on fluff. Building on what Psienesis said, it can also have all sorts of inconsistencies, things like weirdly proportioned Marines or Canonesses with high heels. Primarily, it's meant to look cool rather than be an exact reflection of fluff. That's not to say this proves that the SoS weren't augmented, of course, I just don't see any compelling reason to assume that they were, at present.

Anyway, I think that the SoB would be a solid basis for SoS stats. While they are unrelated organisations, they're both elite soldiers who use similar equipment. The main thing I think you'd need to do is swap out faith abilities for anti-psychic abilities. Maybe a few other tweaks depending on exactly what sort of role you'd see them playing in an army.

Also, aren't FW meant to be making SoSs, at some point? So we should have an official answer to what an SoSs stats would be, someday.

Actually, I'd give them the special rule "Psychic Abomination" since they are blanks.
