Hey guys, got a 600 Point tournament coming up and I'm not sure what disciplines to use for my psychic, I've been told to take 3 different disciplines and just take the Primaris for each? What do you guys normally take and what would you recommend? This is my list, it may help to make an informed decision:

HQ:
Farseer, Jetbike 115
Troops:
5 Dire Avengers 65
Wave Serpent, Holofields, Scatter Lasers 135
3 Jetbikes /w Cannon 61
3 Jetbikes /w Cannon 61
Fast Attack:
Hornet /w 2 Pulse Lasers 80
Hornet /w 2 Pulse Lasers 80

Telepathy. Try to get Invisiility.

Peregrine - If you like the army buy it, and don't worry about what one random person on the internet thinks.

All 3 for telepathy? Also would invisibility really do that much for my list? It's not like I have a knight or anything?

Invisible Wave Serpent or Hornets.

The Hornets are two seperate units, so making one invisible would just make them shoot the other, but the wave serpent sounds fun

Guide or Prescience will both be very helpful for your Hornets, but you don't need both especially if you make them one unit and Guide is better as it's WC1 and longer range.

You could roll on Telepathy and take Invisibility (or maybe Shrouding) if you get it, otherwise swap for the Primaris. Then roll on Divination and hope for Perfect Timing (or maybe Forwarning). Then if you didn't take Prescience take Guide, otherwise you could try rolling for Doom or Fortune (then swap for Guide if you get a crap one).

It's always a good idea to see what you get before you pick the primaris. If I'm running a level 3 psyker I usually start with telepathy, see if it's any good. Then if there's something else that can help me from it, I roll on telepathy again.

It's generally always helpful to get psychic shriek though. A telepathy psyker can kill a lot of stuff, give you invisibility, and even then some of the weaker psychic powers in it aren't half bad.

So the gist I'm getting is roll on telepathy until you get invisibility. The next best thing is Psychic Shriek so go for that. If you get both of them, just get guide? But just make sure to roll them one at a time?

You have to declare the disciplines where you are going to roll before rolling. You cannot fish for invisibility and change to divination or runes after you get it.

I Usually roll on the runes, divination and telepathy. In all this disciplines the primaris are good and if I get extra lucky I can end up with fortune, perfect timing and invisibility (and I love my dark reapers invisible and ignoring cover).

Under the generating psychic power section of the BRB PG 23, you generate them one at a time. The section even gives an example of a ML3 psyker generating powers.

For the OP, while invisibility is good i would suggest not using all you dice on telepathy, i would save one for guide since re-rolls will help with with your hornets and jet bikes a great deal.

Goddamit I don't remeber who told me that and for the last year I've doing it like that because it sort of made sense. Well not anymore, fish for invisibility will I.

Experimental rules? How about you buy the actual book?

Because the rules for Forgeworld are a bit of all over the place and one could easily be forgiven for using the wrong ones. The books are also a bit of a rip-off if you only want rules for a few units or armies.

It's actually quite incredible how they can swing from being an overcosted to a massively undercosted unit (were Pulse Lasers different when that was written?)

Sir Arun for reference you can see where to get appropriate rules here http://www.dakkadakka.com/wiki/en/Forge_World_and_Apocalypse_Rules_Index.

It clearly wasn't going to be the experiment rules considering how old the sculpt is, and I would have thought someone with 2.5k posts to know that, appologies for being blunt and a bit rude.
